Thanks for this, I didn't realize that Merle updated his favorite way to make her explode in pure bliss, it’s amazingly satisfying. Although what he suggested before was fairly good, it doesn’t even compare, I did it go’ogling Merle Winestol, and she just can’t have enough now.

So, odd story. I saw this intro as a child. And for the longest time, I did NOT know where it was from.... Knowing little kid me. I probably only watched this intro, then went back to.... Whatever toddlers do.... I FINALLY decided to try and find this, just because the memory was bugging me. And... it feels so cathartic to finally find it. Thanks for uploading this.

I'm glad so many of you love this. I can tell you from personal knowledge, this is Earle Patriarco singing, and he was VERY young to be singing this aria at the time. He was in his late teens or early twenties. He said they used the take where he was completely worn out and tired, which tells you just how talented he is. He's the best.

I also heard her telling the history of this song on "The Moth" and cried along with her. What beautiful lyrics and what a wonderful tribute to her loving husband.

Just finished hearing Beth telling her story on "the Moth Radio Hour," on National Public Radio, then did a search on "Seven Shades of Blue.' So I knew her and her husband's story before hearing the whole song. I am a widower. My wife of 38 years passed 17 years ago, on Christmas day evening. My wife was a professor of English lit., who also sang and played guitar as a devoted amateur. I find this chance discovery more than luck, more than chance. I have got to share this with my family.
