How can a tape measure not be accurate
it comes down to how precise the lines are drawn on them - every single measuring tool you have ever used in your life is inaccurate to a degree, just that the inaccuracies are negligible for general practical purposes so you don't notice any issues. higher levels of precision become important in only very specific cases.

You understand my struggle. Ill use a screw or nail to make my crows foot if i reach out to hook my tape.
I honestly use a screw more than my pencil haha
Man, how the hell to you use a measuring tape? I'll be looking at it and had no idea how long to read it... I had no choice and use a school ruler
im still learning how.
Stacking rulers is my second preferred form of measuring.
