i randomly got a used 20$ kiddy brother sewing machine while in college for Visual Arts and decided to try the free motion embroidery on my clay paintings and paper and it was so much fun. this definitely encourages me to try again! thanks

Thanks for this great video tutorial! I taught myself to knit 10 years ago. Now I want to do something new, so I'm teaching myself to sew using a men's shirt as a first project. I want to hand sew the whole thing. My daughter teases me that I can't do it, but with your tutorials and some others on the web, I'll get there. BTW, you're the cutest thing ever!! 💐 🤟

Hi, I have tried free motion stitches with my machine... I like it. But sometimes, when starting stiches, machine doesn't work well. I don't know how to put thread correctly for starting. Sometimes thread don't sew, sometimes there is a lot of thread behind fabric. My tension is between 2 and 3. Should I keep thread in my hand for starting ?

To be able to do that at the speed she is using takes a lot of practice. I needed thought of holding the thread down so I sew over it. Great idea!

Can I use the free machine presser foot for monogramming?

So, on my Singer 403 with drop in bobbin, there is a little screw adjuster on the tension spring. I think the best bet on that type of machine is to use two pieces of cotton, set the upper tension to 4, and then adjust the bobbin tension until it stitches right. I get a lot out of your show so far.

If you don’t have yarn dental floss will work.
