I picked up a 48v build from someone local and so far it's been awesome! Would love to pick up and MX500 sometime down the line, but I prefer to stuff the bike in the trunk of my Integra and check out car shows, don't think an MX would fit back there!

Looking online, an HPM-3000B motor is only 107mm long. Lightning Rods also has 3 motors that fit, the Small Block 5kW (75mm), Big Block 10kW (98mm) and XL 13kW (114mm) - might be worth looking at stocking Lightning Rods' motors because they're more powerful and much lighter.
