The proper spark plug socket has a catch ring to extract and install the spark plugs. Key is on installation to start thread backwards and feel that spark plug seat into the threads before tightening. Two big screwups are to cross thread a spark plug...major screwup, and over tighten spark plug and crack the conductor
Great video. Thanks for posting this. Bout to change my spark plugs at about 83,000. What other maintenance have you done at 90,000?
Hi Could add the link to the kit you used please.
Did you notice any loss of power vs. the original OEM plugs? Also, were those 4 NGK made in Japan? I know they also come made in Taiwan or Thailand..
These were made in Japan, no loss of power car performance is just as it was new. I bought this Mazda from a dealership I worked at
I liked how you use the magnetic to remove the spark plugs.
Hey thank you!
How many hp?
Hello, I believe from 140-170hp
Smooth Criminal.... I say Ol chap I think you did a Marvelous Job....😎
Thank you for kind words!
in 1990 i had this money pit called a 67 Bug, building it took all my spare time. long story short, that was one of the quickest vehicles I've ever owned, it hooked up super well and having a shorter 3rd and 4th just made it get to a 100 faster. id embarrassed some V8 drivers so bad, they wouldn't even come to the next stoplight.. lol. thank for the video, i know hard they are to film and edit. P.S. VWs will always be one of my favorite vehicles.
Thank you for sharing Charles, That was awesome to read! Haha thats why they called them the V8 killers. 67 was a unique year for VW’s And yes sadly they are money Pitts’s. It sounds like you had a blast! Getting another for yourself might not be a bad idea. You make many friends this way.
Sound great ! Good job!
Did you try charging the batteries.
Yes, no bueno
Amazing idle!!

Your engine sounds very nice. great job.🐞🪲🐞🪲
You made my day, thank you so much
@@shariff4175 Glad to hear it. I had a similar exhaust system. It was a little low for my lowered car. Every time I drove over a speedhump or into my garage it scraped and yanked the muffler of the J pipe clamp. I went to the sidewinder muffler. It sits higher and the big single muffler goes well up under the right hand rear guard. The only issue is when I re check my valve clearances. It muffler off at the header pipe to get to the valve cover and check/adjust the right side. Bugs are cool.
@@andyroo3022 is it a quieter?
@@shariff4175 No, it has a much deeper exhaust note. Not stupid loud but a fair bit louder than the twin quite pack. You can get an Idea on this video of mine. ua-cam.com/video/8d22eaB5xZs/v-deo.html
Sweet engine, I love that you have a quiet exhaust, so much more suitable for a street car.
Thank you John. Im glad you pointed that out. Too many times i see load exhausts on these bugs. I hate the stinger exhaust with a passion. I wanted something i could daily drive. Street car
Meus parabéns direto do Brasil. Tô surpreso com o silêncio desse motor tá ronronando hahaha
Very nice job done by you... I only see one thing wrong... Webers are supposed to have no more than 3 lbs. Fuel pressure... I don't see a fuel pressure regulator... Jegs has one, it has to be intended to calibrate between 1 to 4 lbs. Fuel pressure... It's different than the bigger ones... Comes with fittings and a fuel pressure gauge... For about $70 bucks... CrazyHorse Speed Shop NJ
Thank you for the heads up Frank. so at the moment I'm running a faucet electric fuel pump that regulated 1.5-3lbs psi. powering that i have an electronic fuel pump module that primes the fuel system for 3 seconds with key on
I will be adding a fuel pressure regulator with a gauge in the back to monitor the psi and also looks
Great job kid
Thank you!

Incredible job building the engine
Thank you ✌️
How fast is it. I'm getting a 2110
I think it's pretty quick, I'm still working on breaking it in but I can go much faster than I go
Depends on your gearing and the transmission in my 61 Beatle I top out at 110 mph but the torque definitely gets you going! Love to see the surprised looks when traffic sees you right along side of them
Surprisingly quiet. Great job.
Runs like a Timex. 🤙

Chique esse motor. Sou fã de refrigerados a ar. Top.
Thank you
Hay buddy I’m interested in doing a motor very similar to yours I want to use my original case with a 82 stroke crank in the video the motor sounds like it’s idling fast as I can’t here the lump of the cam but what bore size hav you used and , any benefits or using Chev rods and did you use B pistons thanks. You’re motor sounds good 👍 ooo last what heads did you use 😊
Hi, you know its been a while ill have to check the boxes. My crankshaft was an cb performance 82mm stroker( I went with this over a scat stroker crank because from what i read cb performance is forged as scat is casted. Im thinking forged is gonna be stronger), my pistons and piston rods were 90.5 AA performance, my 110 cam, lifters, were made by scat, my case was cut into for the first time. Must install case savers. Hondabond for the case and i used the permatex "right stuff" for just about everything else. Ill add another comment with all the details on the head and stuff. You know my biggest thing was reliability. As "simple" as vws are i dont want to be fixing it everytime i drive. This 2110cc setup according to what i researched online is a reliable daily driver scenerio.
The chevy rods are nice but i dont have anything to compare it to. I just went with it because the thought of something chevy in a vw was super cool to me at the time 😂
If you send me an email i can send you all my invoices. Underdogmotorbuilds@gmail.com
Nice 👍 is the case mag original?
Thank you, yes original case that came with the car. Was cut for the first time
That a sweet motor!
Thank you!
