Well Lake Livingston hasn't had that problem this summer anyways. At one point there was concern the dam might even fail there was so much water coming into the lake! It's severely overcrowded these days though, every inch of lake front has been bulkheaded and has boat house almost stacked on top of each other it's crazy! You would think there would be some minimum footage of lakefront one would have to own to be approved to put in a boat house or lift, but no... Lake Livingston will let you put in your own boathouse if you even only have 1 foot of water frontage to your name! It's just too overcrowded now for anybody to enjoy anymore.

Yes they are. Keep in mind, those 2 ramps are going to be very busy this holiday weekend. Expect a line and get there early.

Unfortunately there are no free launches open at the moment. However as we stated in the video, with the extension of 3 of the ramps, more public boat launches will be open longer in future drought situations.

Nat, not much water is sold out of Canyon Lake currently. As you can see, the flow rate is around the 50-70 CFS which is much less than others which is why Canyon Lake is the most constant of the non-constant level lakes. As of 5/8/24: Canyon Lake: 58% full Lake Travis: 38.7% full Lake Buchanan: 60.7% thanks to recent rains however was at 46.4% a month ago. Medina Lake: 2.7% full. ​@@TheLakefrontGroup I live in Arkansas and the tailwater outflow of Gillham lake seldom falls below 430 CFS. I have seen it at over 2000 CFS. Can't own lakefront property on this lake. The lake is for everyone's use.

I would recommend Comal Park. The boat ramps are closed there however it is accessible for launching kayaks (at least the website says so): wordcc.com/comal-park/

Great question! A group of waterfront homeowners actually sued GBRA trying to force them to pay for the dams. Unfortunately they lost that lawsuit. However GBRA (a quasi government entity) is contributing 100% of the gross profits from the hydroelectric dams towards the debt service for each dam.
