This 6-month old, half Doberman, half Mastiff puppy is one of twelve puppies. She was fathered by her next door neighbor's amorous Mastiff dog, who got out more than once, "accidentally" siring 3 litters. This is his third. The pup's neighbor on her other side was her Doberman Pinscher dog mother. It turns out that a Mastiff and Doberman are bred as a hybrid sometimes called a Mastiff Man. This puppy just moved to another state, after living in between her romantic dog parents. She affectionately and enthusiastically greets her human mom, as they reunite after errands, following their move. Happy National Neighbor Day yesterday, and weekend!

A tax collector and dog breeder, Louis Dobermann, from a town called Apolda, in 19th century Germany, decided to breed a reliable protector as companion during his tax collection rounds, in light of the hostile reception he received at times.
Dobermann combined, in his pound, the breeds with the most strength, intelligence and even temperament for this work, involving danger.
The bigger, not as refined result is the Dobermann Pinscher. (Through time, the second "n" was omitted.)
Included by historians among the breeds Dobermann chose to invent this new breed are the following:
-old German Shepherd Dog (known for intelligence, obedience and endurance)
-Rottweiler (resulting in a black and tan coat)
-Black and Tan Terrier (Manchester Terrier forerunner)

A Doberman, Storm, won Westminster Best in Show two years consecutively in 1952 and 1953. The Doberman Pinscher joined the American Kennel Club in 1908. It is one of the United States' most well liked working dogs.
Mastiff Is Known for Strength and Gentleness
The Mastiff has ancient roots as a canine clan. It is known for massive, heavy bones, size, bravery, strength, gentle temperament and dignity. It has a black mask. A male is at least 30 inches at the shoulder and can outweigh many adult men. It has a rectangular, muscular body is deep and short double coat. It's fur is fawn, apricot, or brindle stripes. It has a wide, large head, wrinkled forehead and alert, kind facial expression. Mastiffs are patient, loving guard dogs that respond well to gentleness in training. They are also loyal and protective.
The Mastiff was recognized as a breed by the AKC in 1885.

Yes, but I think a lot of K9 handlers and Malinois owners in general in America like to use German voice commands as the German Shepherd is so popular and kind of similar in it's use as a service dog. In some parts of Belgium, they even speak German, since it's our close neighbor.
