That's a great question: with my Leica Q2 I had 47MP and felt the file size was border line. I ma happy now that the a7c ii "only" has 33 because it's a good relief. The a7cr is probably overkill for my workflow. Cropping to APSc, 15MP is plenty for online use, and for regular print, too. Let me know what you are getting in the end :) and what glass

That z8 was top of my list! Still, I am not getting it any time soon. I will be adopting the Alien technology instead and I'll take it from there. The Lumix will change hands end of the week, then I am scouting for a quiet place where to spend Ferragosto, far from the crowds and relative BBQs :) cheers

It probably will, I remember they added the 40mm among the choice of glasses in the Pixii I had last year, I don't see why they would get shy of 40mm in the full frame :) I'll confirm as soon as I have it in my hands. Cheers

It was designed to be a second camera, it can't be the only one. I'm sure it will be a valid choice for certain users. A mini Q3 would be a game changer though

I am really tempted, too, but I found for the same price a brand new Sony a7r iii - my friend would love to see me with a Sony, which is a great camera but I still don't know if I am ready to switch to Sony glasses - I'll let the idea sit there for a while and enjoy the Lumix for the moment

@@OneLensOnly I have already the A7Cr when I need resolution and various glasses. But for every day a small point and shoot with a bit of zoom…. Tempting :D

I gave it a try with the a7c ii and loved it, but still prefer the a7r iii (which I borrowed several times for shooting interiors). And Zeiss lenses of course :) I'll swing by the Leica store in a couple weeks, I'll keep you posted

@@VantaBlackhole You mean Nikon Z8-9 with a fast readout sensor or the Sony a9iii with a global shutter? Sure give us a global shutter and you can forget the mechanical shutter. But that’s not what Pixii Max has.

LeicaRumors is talking about this evf M mount camera for a while now, we might really see one in the near future. Leica president didn't confirm nor deny it is a possibility

I am saving some visits to Milan to give my best with the Max, assuming I will have the chance to try it soon :) a shame I don't have contacts with Zeiss in Europe as the Biogon would be a perfect match IMHO

@@OneLensOnly I have a '43 CZJ f/1.5 Sonnar, and some more 5cm Sonnars I will try along with the Cooke Amotal and some nice Canons. Max will get a workout. And David will get the bug reports along with some great early photos. All in all it looks good. Italy! Mangia, mangia, you too t'in anyway. Shoot a lot for us to see. ;o)

Focus peaking on MF is just brilliant. I didn't resolve whether I'm going for the Zf z8 or z6iii as my next Nikon

@@OneLensOnly ZF is pretty but quite a chunk of metal in size and weight. Yeah focus peaking with z mount manual lenses is surely even better. I use Megadap Sony to Z Adapter for all my stuff :)

I'm looking for a shop with all three exposed to just grab them in my hands and compare. Specs, they're all good and have some pluses and minuses of course. Zf is intriguing, ideally I would go with the z8 but the mechanical shutter is a big plus for the z6iii

Same old, same old. I was hoping for it to be the little Q3 people are talking about, but it's just cosmetic changes. Anyway, I am heading back to Milan in a couple weeks and I will swing by the Leica store to take it for a spin

Pixii always had this sensitive approach, limited to the production capacity that translated in a monthly ordering limit. It just makes sense, if you don't want to produce for the stock :) ideally it goes sold out every month, I really wish the best to this company

Lumix s9, too, if you are using the L to M adapter. It's quite compact and more recent than the Sigma. But it doesn't have a VF nor a hot shoe

@@user-du9qp3fe6r Yes, if you don't care about having an optical viewfinder and rangefinder focusing, there are lots of cameras that can mount M-mount lenses. But it's a completely different shooting experience!

@@OneLensOnly All these limitations of the Max Pixii and the $4000 price are not for me. I have the Lumix S5 iix and can use the decent EVF to focus M lenses, has good IBIS, PD AF, great video. So I decided to get a very pocketable Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX100 VA. A one lens only 24-70 Zeiss 1.8-2.8 zoom 20mp. It will fit in my trouser front pocket.

Great choices, if you look around on my channel I picked the s5iix, too, as it's great value for the money. There's some pic I took in ZK with my rx100iv, it was kinda easy but didn't keep it in the end. Now I am using a Lumix Lx15 for the long Italian summer

@@OneLensOnly SO MANY CAMERAS TOO LITTLE TIME. A MONTH AGO I GOT THE FUJI XH2 WHICH HAS A PIXEL DENSITY OF 90MP FROM THE 40MP SENSOR ON APSC FRAME. VERY DEMANDING ON LENSES. i PURCHASED THE 13MM VILTROX F1.4 FOR IT. ON APSC THAT IS EFL OF 20MM.

Electronic, sir. It has some limitations. Once you are aware of them you can adapt accordingly

@@OneLensOnlyAdapt by refraining from buying it. At the price they are selling the Pixi, the lack of a mechanical shutter is a disgrace.

The only major drawbacks I've noted on my Pixii Plus are that you can't use electronic flash and that some LED lights do band… mostly slow, cheap ones (“video-safe” stage lights aren't a problem.) But of course that's the current model! We'll need to wait for the Pixii Max to get into photographers' hands to see how it handles this.

Ideally it has a fast enough readout to minimize the troubles with banding but it needs to be thoroughly tested - and enjoyed :)

@@OneLensOnly Mon ami, as I understand it I am in the first batch, September. I was watching their website into the early morning hours here in the US. I was lucky. And while the camera is sometimes a beast it almost always is a darling. And the images are so good. I am trying the CV 35mm f/1.7 LTM and it does very nice color with Pixii. Not too saturated. more vintage. I am looking forward to your impressions with a beta Max, no pun intended.

@@OneLensOnly I am not sure since it seems that they use derivative math to get results of monochrome. Also, I have the 25mm zeiss M lens , how did you get 25mm when they only have 28mm frame lines in the VF. I was considering an SL2-S with and M mount adapter. Since it has a 5.7k EVF I can use all my M glass regardless of focal length and Leica has ttheir Black and White baked inside the camera and the EVF shows monochrome results in the EVF screen which is better than imagining what the image looks like without color.

exactly the same doubt I had, and I will be happy to test it for you. Ideally the calculations to "give back" luminance to pixels would take a filter into account, but I like the empirical way :)
