I listened to this often when I was living in Arizona, especially during monsoon season. The Sonoran Desert really does have a spirit about it, it is an entity, ever present in the background. The vibe it gives off feels like the mood this song strikes. I'm glad somebody put it into music.

Damn! They even flipped the rhythm from 4/4 to 6/8, including the vocals & it’s incredible. Musicianship on the highest level. 💜

MJK has this rare capability to sing melodies perfectly and adapt them no matter what is going on in the background. Brilliant and unique.

This is my favorite Puscifer song. It's the most positive sounding song I've ever heard Maynard sing. At first I was struck by the fact that it is indeed him "praying." You know after the "FUCK YOUR GOD!" and everything i was kinda caught off guard. But people are complex. And it actually makes perfect sense to me now considering the Jungian idea of the union of opposites. And Maynards book is called "A Perfect Union of Contrary Things." I now see no contradiction in an atheist praying. A prayer isn't necessarily to God, and no one agrees on exactly what God is. This of course is just my interpretation

snobored99 I was actually about to comment about the fluttering sound throughout the song and thought it to be percussion but what instrument? Something about that fluttering sound makes me want to sprout wings and fly my name is Angela so maybe I'm an angel. An angel on the sideline- baffled and confused. Couldn't help but throw in Tool lyrics ha!

I've come back to this song a few times since I found it... Probably one of the best more stripped down versions. The resonance in Maynard's voice makes it resonate in my spine. It actually does help me stand up more straight hearing this when my heart is truly broken. Thank you for this gift. Such an incredible version!
