These Chinese Walnut Cookies are a popular cookies during Chinese New Year. This is my favorite cookie and I can recall that my mother will reward me with this cookie whenever I did something extraordinary good.
Back to this recipe, I manage to fine tune the ratio of the ingredients until the taste suits to my family's taste buds; less sweet and strong nutty flavor. As you will notice later, the ratio of the walnut in this recipe is a bit high as I need to enhance the walnut flavor in this cookie to satisfy my "internal customer" 😊

      Hi, sorry for the late response. You may try but in order for the bread the raise better, it is recommended to use bread flour due to higher protein level and better for the gluten formation.

    I am looking for the real Ipoh 沙葛腐皮, they have not much 沙葛 in it, then found your video. Thanks for sharing. I didn't see your video until today as I made twice already with someone's recipe, didn't use any fish paste but only flour. After chilled then sliced and coat the cut side with more tapioca starch then deep fry. Happy Cooking.

      Hello SK Kan, my room temperature is around 30'C. During 5-6 hours rising, I put my bread dough in the microwave. Hope this helps. Thank you

      Hi Chuah, you may try to get from the grocery shop in the wet market. I have not replace with other kind of dried fish. Sole fish/flounder fish powder gives the umami flavour to the soup. Hope this helps. Thanks for dropping by

      Hi Fay, the size is 10cm x 17.5cm x 11.5cm (height). Mine was a very old pan, you may get the standard 450g bread pan size that is easily available in Lazada. Hope this helps
