I'm sometimes asked about the greatest moments in television light entertainment, and I think this is right up there. The craft, the joy and the fact that we have two of the least selfish performers who ever lived making fun of insecurity and jealousy.

Kilroy? He was ere, last time I looked
so to sum up he got UK out of EU and the guy making the film is still nobody
It’s ALWAYS about power. That is the only thing EVERY SERIOUS politician is interested in. It’s always the same.. they are all completely full of shit, and their own self importance … that and how many perks they can get from the public on top of the handsome wages. It’s always been and always will be totally corrupt, and the reason?… because YOU don’t want to get off your ass and help run YOUR country for you and all of us. Until we all actually play our part in running out country you will always just be a simple slave. That’s what you and I are, simple slaves. Get used to it, or do something
I saw him in an antique shop when i was a kid and he glowed orange . He looked like he had been plugged in.
A bit cringe worthy nowadays but standard fare for back then , and it was live as well .
Wow - Art with hair! Doesn’t give the date of this performance, but I am guessing around 1980. 🤔
I firstly thought that was Steve Marcus on alto.
Pure talent. Love his phrasing.
the egg thing was from April Fools day😋
Not familiar with the alto player ....it was usually Peter King in that chair
You mean Art Themen - who was playing both? 🙂 Check him out, he is amazing, and still going at 84!
@@judelucas3366 no I mean Peter King...seen Art Theman many times he gave me advice when I busted a tendon in my right hand
@@davidscott1052. Excellent. I think we both missed the announced line up at the start. 😀
Wow Sammy could sure bring it.
hes keeping time with his right hand while singing!
The one and only greatest
So great!!
What a great line up !
Legend and truth teller 🏴🇬🇧
Thank you for this. This was one of my favourite ITV programs growing up!
You desperately need to learn the art of subtlety, Louis. There's a long way to go here.
Don't waste my time with these lightweights, Louis. Post some Peter Brotzmann, for goodness sake!
Listen and learn, Louis! A lot of work for you to do here. Shape up, man!
Well, that was a dreadful carve up, wasn't it, Louis? What a mess! Rather like the worst prep school band you could possibly imagine. Never mind wearing a black shirt to look cool; there's a lot of work to be done here, my friend.
Would that be Sali Earls in the front row? I think so.
Oh dear, Louis, you are an extremely plodding drummer, aren't you? Not a patch on the Brian Fahey original, or the cover version by Brass Incorporated. Try to play with feeling. Don't let yourself be governed by sheet music. Could do better!
I have lots of time for Ronnie, of course, but none at all for Louis Barfe.
It is such a shame that the first people foreseeing where political agenda's are leading us, are always not believed, demonized and ridiculized. He was right about the EU and geopolitical agenda. Look at where Europe is now, our national parliaments are left powerless, our national identities and cultures are being dismantled and the EU has even implemented a censorship bill.
BAND IS GOOD TOO............. NICE
yeah, they're blowin' the roof off.
💕💕💕
Damn it Fred I've missed you.
Love how Roy bribed them.😂
I wonder who the two guys on afterward were?
The Clark Brothers, tap dancers, I think.
Super ! Love this.
Flippin' fantastic
Fantastic !
Such a talent….his whole body was full of music.
the tilt and catch - superb.
This is good stuff
How many times can a sheet of paper be folded in half?
Eight!
GOAT
wonderful Sammy
Wonderful,I should know as I'm 62.......
He never gave a bad performance. Ever.
The true glory of How, we now realise, was Jack smoking his pipe all the way through it.
She did look quite excited about the 32".
I think she fancied him.
My mother loved Sammy Davis and blasted his albums while growing up. Glad she did. This is some of the best of Sammy! He swings and boy can he sing!
Magical ,amazing takent
Wonderful programme. Loved Jack Hargreaves (and his 'Out Of Town' programme) Fred, Jon Miller and Bunty James. Fabulously educational and fun.
Love it.
Fred bore a passing resemblance to my (crazy, fun) uncle - for years I thought they were both the coolest dudes on the Planet. AND I WAS RIGHT!
That's cool
Genius.
