Technically, it isn’t the “Ghetto Bird” beat. It’s an instrumental that QDIII composed for the movie’s score which uses the exact same sample from Ohio Players’ “Funky Worm” that he later used for “Ghetto Bird.” Main difference is that the Ice Cube version has the sample played and then immediately played back in reverse, while this version has a reverb of the same notes from the “Funky Worm” sample played on a keyboard, one note at a time. Probably, QDIII had to change it for “Ghetto Bird” to match Cube’s flow and energy.
