Sitting watching on a Saturday afternoon in Malta during a thunder storm and loving every minute of this interview, it’s like time travel. I was brought here whilst watching Rick Beato’s three hour Brendan O’Brien interview, hoping for even the slightest of mentions of Wolfsbane. I saw your vid pop up and got so much more, thank you. I’ve loved Wolfsbane since 1985, I saw them live many times locally, my second cousin Steve even joined the band. I saw them win Tamworth Battle Of The Bands, they ‘were’ the biggest band in Tamworth, they were on fire, life was good. Then Rick Rubin calls and off they go, recording, travelling and touring, doing their job as a professional band and they were no longer just…the best band in Tamworth…❤
@@websitemad love it 😀👍🎸🎸
I have to atest to witnessing it at the VIP event, Music by John Miles and How does it Feel by Slade were both recorded live in one take, absolutely amazing to witness personally, what a band 😊

MTV did interviews on the night of the premiere with all the artists that played on the soundtrack apart from Richie which is so annoying but they also filmed other acts playing but none of Richie again, there has got to be footage somewhere surely?

The title of this video is SO Deceptive. And so is the photo.
@@ashlayne10 ? It’s Chris Slade talking about The Firm reunion which didn’t happen due to the Led Zep return , not sure what else to call it 😀🎸🎸
@theclassicrockshowX I understand. Maybe it was just my overly excitable heart that just read too much into it. Upon first reading and seeing the photo, I eagerly leapt to the conclusion that there was truly going to be a reunion. Even so, I'm a realist. I realize it's a bit late in the game to hope for a tour from these awesome musicians what with Jimmy becoming an octogenarian at the first of the year and Paul's health issues over the last few years. However, the announcement of new music in the form of a new album would have fallen on very, very delighted ears, indeed. I consider it one of the great privileges of my life to have seen The Firm in 1986 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. At one point during the show, a thunderstorm that was raging outside, knocked the power out to the entire arena. 😳 Chris carried on with the song though, and Paul's unamplified voice was still easily heard. It was really quite impressive. It was quite exhilarating too when the power kicked back on and Jimmy's and Tony's guitars assumed their rightful places within the song as if nothing had happened. Fantastic!! The experience seemingly put an electrical charge within the audience and the musicians for the rest of the show too!! There's a recording of the show here on UA-cam. But, sadly, the recording doesn't even vaguely come near the magic of being there.
They should remaster those album and include the pro-shot concert from 1984 that’s on UA-cam…. Page has remastered most of his stuff. For some reason, THE FIRM has been ignored. IDK why. My favorite band in high school.
*albums
I saw them in 1985, I would be all for a 40th anniversary reunion tour! A friend of mine keeps asking why the four of them don’t reunite, if only for just a dozen US dates (like Roxy Music did in 2022). I’ve been telling him that I believe it’s because the media has been guilty of pumping up the legacies Zep and Bad Co over the years, to the point that The Firm has been made out to be an afterthought that does not get the recognition that they deserve. For my second time seeing Rodgers perform live in 2018 (this time with his own band), he was still in remarkably good form, especially at 68! It probably didn’t hurt that he was revisiting some of the old Free and Bad Co stuff, which The Firm did not. I would probably not attend a reunion tour date myself but I would totally be in support of it in any other way I could for those that would be interested (like post an OpEd somewhere that totally pumps them up and hope it goes viral, for example)
@@MochaDaisy8645 to be honest I just don’t think they can be bothered with it Paul could tour and sell out venues as he has and does performing from his catalogue and as for JP I just think the time has long passed now for him to consider anything other than what he always craved which was obviously the Zep reunion
Caught “The Firm” 2nd row at Market Square in Indianapolis
I saw both tours. I still have the t shirt. Great shows. Costa Mesa CA.
I thought The Firm was one big overhyped ball of nothingness. Squandered potential. Page WAS NOT on his game during that period. The songs were second rate Bad Company lyrics. Supreme letdown.
sometimes i count the tracks ive heard on fm radio 1)Radioactive 2)Satisfaction Guaranteed 3)Closer 4)Midnight Moonlight 5) Money Can't buy 6) Fortune Hunter 7)All the Kings Horses 8)Live in Peace 9)Together 10) Tear down the walls + a cover song.
Gimme a break. They were relevant in names only 40 years ago. They are totally irrelevant now. Good luck with your money grab.
@@ericjencson9489 money grab ?? Not so sure it’s just a conversation piece from an interview rather than a statement of intent 😀👍🎸🎸
Paul Rodgers didn't wanted to tour. He said in an interview.
Jimmy's too old sad
The Firm records are just boring.
Tom Jones Live in Las Vegas album. Slade on the cans, totally crushed it.
@@MichaelBoltonsEntireCatalog now funny you mention Tom Jones there is a very funny story about a live gig they did at the Copacobana in NYC , it’s on the full interview with Chris 🎸🎸
Jimmy Page was absolutely right to not want to perform previously released material that we've all heard a million times. I think The Firm would have come off as more of a tribute band trying to promote themselves as a viable new original band. Not to mention the fact that Jimmy Page has a style that is so unique to himself that I simply can't see him playing "Alright Now" and butchering Paul Kossoff's immaculate performance on that song. The most played song in history too I might add...
@@RandyFricke good points 🎸🎸

Always have absolutely loved both FIRM albums - every song on each is good or great! They were one of those bands that was never fully appreciated, commercially, like they deserved to be . Lots of great memories with those 2 albums - great era of the 80’s
