Thunder Knob Trail in the North Cascades National Park is a 3.6 mile round trip hike that switchbacks up almost 500 feet to a knob with views of colorful Diablo Lake and surrounding majestic peaks.     Fort Okanogan Interpretive Center is now a program of the Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation. It is open seasonally. First Wednesday after Memorial Day through the last Saturday in September. We are open Wednesday-Saturday. Watch for our open flags at Highway 17.

    Been to Gardner Cave once. There is a legend about this cave. A fellow, last name of Gardner, and a friend found this cave while drunk on some homemade hooch. They used a bunch of matches, actually used them all up, trying to get out of the cave. The mountain scenery up there is spectacular. You can see Hooknose Mountain, 7,210 feet tall, west of the park.

    LOVE Pearygin!! We kayak there sometimes…also the Native Plant Society hosts plant ID hikes sometimes. Beautiful In fall!! Pronounced “perry-Jin”

    You are nowhere near the Columbia River. That water is Banks Lake.

      So many to choose from! Beacon Rock has the most unique hike, a mile straight up and majestic views of the Columbia River Valley, Olalie has the best water fall hike, Twin Falls, and Twin Harbors and Cape Disappointment have some of the best beaches and St Edwards is the best for a local hike!
