glenbrook, again...
a little beyond the also lesser well-known Duck Hole, you'll come across this fantastic waterhole. Was wonderful being able to choose from a deep swimming hole and just chilling a little upstream with a little spa moment. A great spot to get away from the heat and the crowds...
An easy walk as well, and if you time it well, can see the trains go past on the walk there. Just a small scramble to get to the bottom, but definitely worth walking that little extra over the Glenbrook hot spots (Blue Pool and Jellybean Pool).
snacks I ate (from Con's Deli and Patisserie in Glenbrook)
◑ bagels
◐ smoked ham
◑ provolone cheese
◐ mixed semi-sun dried tomatoes
Adventure from the 24th of November 2024 in Glenbrook. Shot on gopro.

another little hungover adventure...

The last time I did this track was in 2019, so what an absolute pleasure it was to do this track again and remember why I enjoyed it so much the first time. Definitely a 'pick your own adventure', can even go out all the way to Nepean River. A quick way to cool down in the summer and have a place all to yourself. Also did you catch that deceptive little legless friend? thanks as always for taki...

wow, it has been a hot minute since I've last been to Faulconbridge (almost a year)! This ended up being a monster 20 km hike (monster for me anyway...) starting from Grose Rd and ending at the Grose river. After turning off the main fire trail and heading down the river, the start of the real knackering began... Honestly I found this a lot more challenging on the way up, just the constant asce...

hey everyone! finally got around to the widely popular Minne Ha Ha Falls in the Blue Mountains. What an absolutely stunning set of falls that doesn't take very long to get to at all. Took a little detour off the main path on the way there so spent a little longer along the creek. Some amazing little offshoots to smaller sets of falls. Definitely a hot spot for the upcoming summer, and definitel...

A little late to the party on this gorgeous set of falls, but no better way to beat the crowds than to check it out on a Sunday afternoon in the middle of winter... If you recall from a video end of last year, I only reached the falls halfway along the track to these falls, so am happy to finally see what all the fuss is about! Kangaroo Creek Falls is an incredible set of falls with a nice deep...

hey everyone, thanks for stopping by! Today we're in Hornsby and tackling the Blue Gum Walk, part of the Great North Walk. Starting off at Rosemead Road, this track had a wonderful array of sights from creeks to lush green views, ferns and stunning rock overhangs. This track was done at a very lesiruely stroll being a tad hungover but was so happy to have gone outside and done this walk. Highly...

Back in the Blue Mountains baby! I took a short escape up to the mountains for the long weekend and on the afternoon of arrival, hiked to Hanging Rock and Baltzer Lookout. I can't remember the last time I've started a hike in the afternoon, but if I can do it again, I sure will. The mountains during golden hour is insane. Adventure from the 10th June, 2024 in Blackheath. Shot on gopro.

hey everyone, how are we all doing?! It's been almost a year since last visiting Ku-ring-gai Chase NP and tackling another hike here brought me so much joy. Got a different view of Lovett Bay with this track compared to the Towler's Bay track. Incredible view points and an incredible set of falls. Next time I'd like descend along the falls and explore that further. Lunch: ◑ semi-dried tomatoes ...

silly me thinking that the walk down to Kangaroo creek would be all flat and smooth sailing. A challenging but brief descent down to Kangaroo Creek from where parked in Heathcote and a short walk along the creek brings you to this absolute cracker of a swimming spot. Kangaroo Creek is definitely Royal Nasho's answer to Glenbrook Creek in the Blue Mountains. It was an absolute joy to dive into t...

wow, this was an enjoyable walk! A variety of different terrain kept this walk to the unnamed waterfall really interesting. Here's just a glimpse of Cao Bang, a northern province in Vietnam that borders with China. In two days, we saw some incredible landscapes. okay yay, we have resumed regular programming for 2024! this time, we skipped the usual Empire Pass track and heading direct to Frederica Falls via Frederica Falls trail. Man, if this isn't a lesson to always wear long pants on an unfamiliar track, I'm not sure what is. The razor grass was relentless through this overgrown trail. Some cute mushies along the way was brief respite. Unfortunately ...

Bit of history - the duck hole was used to pump water up to the trains back in the days of steam locomotives. There are still some remnants of the pipes and concrete pads for the pumps to be found if you hunt around the bushes long enough.

Hey Ricky ☺️ Going solo can always be a little daunting, especially trying new tracks. I’d definitely recommend starting off with more popular walks local to you and seeing what you’re comfortable with. As with anything, it will get better when you do it lots.

There is a lot of history that you can find within the Sassafras Gully trail area. Everything from the Paddy memorial carving to the Ye Olda Fountaine thats still flowing out of a rock. Psalm Rock is also a good thing to see.

      @adventureswithamye 10 місяців тому

Ah, definitely need to explore the area more and read some older guides/maps on the area. I’ve seen Psalm Rock on a map and walked near it along Glenbrook Creek but wasn’t 100% on what I was meant to be looking at. The others sound unfamiliar, will add it to my list for this year! Thank you for sharing.

I've made a few historical videos on my UA-cam channel. My favourite is the Faulconbridge Sawmill site. By the way, would you know where Strattons Amphitheatre is in the Sassafras gully area? I will be bush bashing it again to find it this Saturday. If I find it early enough I will try to find the 90yr old cross made out of rocks.

@@adventureswithamye I've been sent detailed directions of where it is. I'm also going to check out where the names have been carved into the rocks along the Magdala track and then find the small dam that was built in the early 1900s up above springwood falls.
