Arsenal 1 Manchester United 1 (3-5) Pks | I Haven't Smiled Since Saka Got Injured
The theme of the season continues unabated with another poor finishing performance for everyone. I see Ruben Amorim is out there saying they controlled the match....LOL give me a break. This Portuguese liar. We were much the better side but no luck with scoring except for Gabriel M who CANT stop scoring...

Each week is a new nonsense and today was no different. The examples of the shambolic officiating are obvious to anyone who cares to open their eyes. But still, we were unlucky with some of the injuries today and 2 slight moments of slack defending were punished mercilessly by Liverpool. Bit disappointed but considering the circumstances we did well to get anything out of that one. Anthony Tayl...

Give THAT REFEREE BONUS .
We cannot afford it apparently
We get hit on the break again. We seem to consider it unsportsmanlike to attack a defence that is not in place.
We need another carrier in midfield. If Gabriel Jesus really has done his ACL then the board have some huge decisions to make
Truly a second rate team we had to field. No Martin, no Bukayo and no Timber. A real lack of passion chasing the long balls: I see Raya go long pretty often but it seems if it is not right on the head of Jesus or Trossard, they're not chasing it. If we play out from the back we don't surge forward when we break the opposition lines, we play back to get a few more guys forward, but then we're doing the first-year-Arteta thing of playing tippy-tappy around a low block and hoping to score on a set piece or by some piece of magic. Often we produce the magic but it's not a strategy! So, the decision sucked (the ball hit Saliba's head before he made contact with the opponent!), but we look terrible next to Liverpool who always look so energetic and dangerous. We still do not deserve to win the title unfortunately. (I'm also really disappointed we had a bad result in the awesome black away kit).
Fair assessment. I think we’ve looked our worst around times when injuries/suspensions hit. Thought yesterday was all abt the illness running thru the team. Odegaard and Martinelli played like they have the flu. Tbf we’re never going to play like Liverpool. We don’t have the same type of players. Diaz, Salah, Trent, Gakpo etc are all built for verticality. We are a build up and break down low blocks type of side. But with no Saka, Havertz, Timber and Odegaard we aren’t as good. Everyone is clamoring for a striker this window. I think that’s a mistake. Someone like Isak needs service. Cunha would be the ideal buy but Wolves just gave him a new contract so that is probably not happening
@@thecounterattack It was a lacklustre performance compared to the usual high standards. Our missing players are so relied upon, pretty tough to find the magic because Jorginho, Califiori, Merino are really squad players IMO, and Partey at RB is not optimal (but he played well I think). Since your message, Pool dropped points so that makes it more Grrr. I agree with you about the clamour for a striker: I am not convinced, especially if we just buy whomever is on offer. Only the very best is good enough at our level and we should perhaps almost just look to get players, in any position, who have that best-of-the-best quality. See ya next week.

I do not recall such a tedious match to sit through in recent times. Even scoring didn't raise my spirits much: it just seemed like we were always going to win, but there wasn't much spark, not much that was above what was needed. I hope Jesus can keep his good form going. We are going to need everyone playing their best while Bukayo is out. (I couldn't resist the black away kit, either).
After my issues getting the 22-23 black away kit I had to grab this one in season. This one felt like a post Christmas hangover but probably has more to do with the Saka injury. We really can’t afford any more injuries let alone Jesus going off the boil again

Why do our women dominate? What does American football cost families? Is it really free in advanced countries of Europe and South America?
All Hail the Almighty Algorithm ☯🔥
Weird game. Arsenal continued the utter domination they showed against Forest. The Wan Bissakak goal was just a beautiful piece of football on their part but the free kick/2nd goal was a howling error by Taylor.
Ridiculous error by Taylor. When I saw it on TV I thought oh ok it’s a foul but Taylor was right next to the tackle and can clearly see Rice got the ball. Shambles from that guy 🙄

got to say - a Ref actually did us a solid - his dummy for the Partey goal should count as a pre-assist - totally bamboozled their keeper 🤣
And the restart for the 3rd, he was in the way again and it worked out in our favor

Firstly, sorry it's taken me half the season to get back and say hi... UA-cam wasn't feeding me and I had to hunt you out ("Counter Attack" in search does nothing!!) on my bloated subscription list. Anyhoo... yeah, didn't that suck. The Newcastle goal was simply perfect. I wanted to think Big Gabi gave Isak too much room, but I couldn't after the reply: he's only 1/2 metres on the ball side... a solid position to head the ball forst... but it was simply that perfect a ball. I really want Trossard to repay us for his recent, well... he personally has cost the team points. Today would have been an ideal day to step up. Not only he didn't, the virus has hit Rice and Havertz. I hope next match, assuming no Odour Guard, White is at right back (he was the only substitute that really brought the fire), Partey in the middle, Trossard on the bench.
Ayeee, good to hear from you man. Yea, searching for the channel is a nightmare. Gotta find a way to fix that. Yea Trossard up top isn't cutting the mustard. Would rather have Havertz the furthest man forward when we have the ball instead of marauding in the midfield. Def Partey also back in the middle with White at righthback overlapping. Partey simply doesn't have that either due to age or whatever. Hope all is well

Too many excuses. America sucks because Americans don't care about soccer. Dudes that is.

Pay-to-play system it's one of the biggest reasons also the coaching aspect, the coaching is full of scammers and wannabes who doesn't understand the beauty and the potential (still to be discovered and developed) of the new generations. The arrogance of leagues and a a greedy systems that manage money but are not interested in work for the game, build culture and get the best of the unique aspects of the US prospects.
😂😂😂😂
Is the cost of grassroots soccer in the US different from Football, Baseball, Basketball, or Hockey?
The cost of most of these is quite high especially hockey but the USA has a more engrained culture and youth system pipeline for them. Including more readily available facilities
@@thecounterattack Canada is the same, although the community seems to shine for players who are underprivileged (like Alphonso Davies). The soccer community in Canada is relatively small still. We are in the same boat in regards to facilities. As you can imagine, we need a lot of indoor facilities but things are improving.

Maybe the U.S could convince Messi to become a U.S citizen. That could boost the U.S football team ;) But joking aside, I don't get the 'expensive 'part ? Here in the Netherlands, football is part of the culture. Kids play in the streets, at school and many play in amateur clubs well into adulthood. Even though every kid dreams of being ' discovered 'by scouts from the big teams and major football academies , they all know it's a small chance . Football is played for the sake of football . Club cost plus a few shoes and some jerseys are affordable for every family Amateur football is just having fun. A game, or watching your kids play and having a few beers with the guys afterword is all part of it.
Even if Messi became a US citizen he would be ineligable to play for any nation other than Argentina.fifa rules state that a player must play for any nation in which they play their first competetive match. Yea, i know it wasa joke, but i still had to say it.

Why do the women do so well. Don’t say Title IX cause that was 50 + years ago
@@danw4711 it usually takes a while to see the benefits of things like Title IX. Also the lack of the same type of investment from the competition. Look at how Brazil & Argentina treat their women footballers. Night and Day.
If the talent pool here in North America was as deep as it was in Europe and probably South America, all top 3 of North America’s national teams would be powerhouses in the soccer/footballing. Also the only thing that’s stopping all of us from being seen as such, is the pay to play system, and I must add the possibility of knowing someone who can put your name in a recommendation list
We can fund inner city teams to get the poor kids. In EVERY country it’s the poor kids more often than the rich spoiled kids that make it. The Brazilians and Argentinians come to mind here- football is an escape out of poverty. They have the drive and hunger, literally, hunger. Each MLS team with a minimal investment can pay for an inner city small turf field, set of cheap jerseys and one coach down on his luck or forced to do community service.
I'm just hoping that the "pay to play" system is evaporated. Why is this a system again? This isn't golf or crocket, y'know. The atmosphere in those football/soccer stadiums (especially during rivalry gamedays) is absolutely stunning. This isn't going to be easy, and the endless insults from the outsiders are still going to be plenty, but it's a work in progress.
Every great football player ever has come from poor backgrounds, there has never been a legendary player that comes from a rich family. As long as p2p keeps going, US and Mexico will keep failing. Nobody in the US squad would start in the top 5 teams, thinking they can win any important trophy is delusional.
@@demin789 hmm I’m inclined to agree with you but I wonder if anyone has ever done research on the economic backgrounds of top players. Did Messi come from a poor family? Part of me thinks if one of them did they would hide it.
@@thecounterattack Yes, Messi came from a low-middle class family. A low-middle class argentinean family would be an absolute poor one by US standards.
