5 Secret INFP Pleasures

A note on the first point, the pleasure is in completeing the tasks all at once. I didn’t necessarily mean that pleasure comes from putting things off. But on second thought, do INFPs get a sort of secret pleasure from putting something off in and of itself? This is a different perspective but hear me out. I have this idea that INFPs are aloof because of the intensity of all that they feel as a coping mechanism. I think because they feel emotions so intensely, they almost have to have to daydream to take step back. I am an INFP and it’s almost guaranteed that I daydream if there is a lot going on emotionally, and am most likely very aloof to others.
INFP here: Sure, it's atrocious what Diddy has been up to but I can't hate him for it. What I do hate is celebrities like him (and probably all of Hollyweird) being inauthentic in interviews, knowing what they do at his freak off parties.
Honestly as an INFJ myself I consider myself more intense than INFPs on average, but once you trigger an INFP's passions they go from passive and chill to extremely enthusiatic in a matter of seconds, and it can throw me off guard initially. I'm used to it from my INFP friend now, but it did take some getting used to. Now when I observe it happening I smile to myself because I love seeing her so full of enthusiasm and vigour. It's like a secret switch and I know her trigger words haha!
Omg ppl still running with acronyms. 😂🤣😵💫🫠
"Talk go yourself like a friend." Awesome! Why didn't I think of that?! (There I go again).
5:39 so relatable...
I can’t seem to control my volume when I get excited or have a brain wave about something, my ENFJ husband and ISFJ daughter are always telling me off for shouting or speaking too passionately… I’ve taken to communicating in written form when I need to discuss something I’m passionate about with them as it’s the only way of getting them to here me in a calm manner which is what is preferred by them. My ENFP daughter and I have no problem with one another letting their passion loose 🎉
Yes this is true. I realized that waiting to feel inspired was a trap and learned I need to set a tiny goal and just get it done. From I can keep going and snowball or just be grateful for the small accomplishment. Some progress is better than no progres!
I feel like I have come to these conclusions but hearing them listed in this video helped me a lot.
Im an INTJ and I also feel very opposite to ESTPs. I think its cause of their often physically aggressive nature which seems to also extend to the bedroom (they get off on being aggressive while I have always been extremely uncomfortable with and turned off by aggressive behavior and could never wrap my head around how it could be arousing to anyone)
I’ve been called intense by my partner 😂. And I can rise from the dead when a topic of interest arrives. Tho I have learned to dial it down depending on who I am with. Also I also am curious about different enneagram types as well as someone mentioned. 🤔
Yes very true love to snuggle!!
Interesting that he didn't have any creative input into "his" music. That's very anti-INFP too, it's entirely an inauthentic way to behave. Totally outsourcing your public image. (Don't even get me started on the Other Behaviour, I hope he's due to stay in prison for a very long time).
Great analysis! Thank you for explaining the difference between how ESTJ and ESTP are opposite INFP. ESTP have been om my mind lately, I noticed that they may be fun in the MBTI sketches, but in real life... it's too much for me. I had an argument (online) with someone who I think was an ESTP and what can I say... It's a situation close to "Don’t argue with idiots because they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience". I hate arguing and being inprovokedly aggressive to people, while they... thrive on it? I truly wish we could live in different realities.
Absolutely disgusting pos ,May he burn in hell for the hurt and pain he caused others. Repulsed by his depravity and evilness.
Both are great with a wonderful son
I never trusted Diddy, or anyone in those circles. As an INFP, Christian, and also former conspiracy huntress, I can smell that kind of evil a mile away. After a lifetime of abuse from people with severe personality disorders, with a grand finale that lasted about 3 years, I can confidentiality say that most people don't want to know the truth. So it only furthers your abusers attempts to destroy you when you do try to bring things into the light. Better to just know what you know, and walk away while you still can. Now I spend my days learning everything I can about personality disorders, so I can protect myself from them, and from becoming just like them. Not because I am better than them, but because anyone can become a monster after a certain amount of trauma. It shatters the psyche in ways too difficult to describe. God help the victims and survivors of these psychopaths, everywhere. He truly is the only One who can🩵
I feel your disgust and that even furthers my disgust about this monster. Peace.
Trump is an ESTP also, bahahahaha! 🙃
Are you sure? I thought he was ESTJ. Heard that somewhere a while back.
@@Maria_7440definitely ESTP. Textbook
Think he is an ESFP. The biggest bullies tend to be SE users. He is a master showman capable of reading the crowd and manipulating their emotions. He does not thrive on logic as an ESTP would. I recommend looking into socionics to really see how the personality types differ. It helped me alot
@MeliMeli66 I think the perception of the lack of logic comes from his privileged upbringing, you don't tend to develop critical thinking skills in those environments. I think he's just an especially privileged ESTP and is out of touch because of his level of privilege
@@t-man5196 i see what you mean but I maintain that he is an ESFP because of his ability to emotionally manipulate a crowd and read a crowd. I think ESTPs are not as good with emotionally manipulating others and getting them/ a crowd to feel a certain emotion at a given moment in such a skillful way. ESTPs are primarily logical rather than emotional. I would also see an ESTP as being more quiet and cunning than Trump.i think his cunning is more in the realm of emotional manipulation which makes me think that he is a feeler with third alot Te who knows what to say at the right moment because of his insight into human emotions and what sells to others on an emotionally visceral level. ESTPs with 3 rd alot FE will feel good when they bring others together for some SE event or activity but they cannot sustain it and their Fe will be clumsy because it is a child function in terms of its development.ESFPs can be quite good at both Fi and Fe .Fe will be running in the background although they will favor Fi-- their creative function, but they can use Fe very well especially a narcissist person whose aim is to emotionally extract whatever he needs from others .
As an INFP 6w5 I feel like the ESTJ is definitely the shadow side of INFP. When you have the mix of both influence and the logic he has had over these years… the potential to sway he’s had to manipulate so many people over the years. There’s no meaning to any of it… as we INFP know… The veil has been lifted for others and the truth is being revealed. Very well stated. Thanks for sharing Brendon.
Honestly, he never really crossed my radar that much, so I dont know alot about him despite the fact that I enjoy rap, hip hop, and R&B. I would agree that he's definitely a parasite. I can definitely see how an INFP can be a monster, but an INFP will never be this type of monster.
I have never had any interest in him, so I don't know him at all. I don't spend any of my life energy on people like that. Let the Lord take care of him. However, Brendon, you are acting so much like an INFP in response to this debacle. And it's hilarious!
Diddys action are not surprising, he was able to get away with it for soo long, because he had money and connections and he was able to go under the radar, while a lot of his associates ended up paying the price. Unhealthy Fe, at how he was able to con and manipulate many people. His inferior Ni caught up to him. Definitely goes against INFP traits forsure!!
As an INFP, I cannot fathom a fellow INFP doing something like that. Not a lot of things surprise me anymore, but an INFP being like that…that would be pretty high up on the most eye-opening horror for me to learn about
fellow INFP-T here, I AM STRUGGLING 😅😂
Hey Brandon, thank you very much for this video. Your comparison ENFP and INFP is spot on. I learnt a lot from it like from other videos of yours. Just started digging in this channel www.youtube.com/@alignedselfreview It's also about authenticity and concepts & ideas surrounding it: how you might loose and regain (knowledge of) authenticity.
Thank you and I’ll check it out 😊
I am so guilty to playing with dogs/ pets at parties I do that almost every time
As an INFP I have been told I am intense but to most people that spend time of I am usually chill unless bored or excited
I even blush when I talk about things important to me 😂😂😂 the people in my family are used to it, for others I have to tone it down.
I have been known to give the occasional ted talk😂. I think a few other factors count as well. Our inner monolog can be very intense. We are also known to be heavily involved in various subcultures. Im emo, hipster, and a bit of a weeb myself. Also, if im not wearing the most drab outfit you ever seen, im the most decked out person in the room. Also, our decision making can be intense sometimes. I think about what i plan on doing before i do it, but once i make a decision, im going to do it, and nothing is going to stop me. Honestly, i scare myself sometimes. For all i know, i might decide i want to go skydiving, and before i know it, i am going to be wearing a jumpsuit on a small airplane.
Yes about building relationships !!! I actually learned that from an astrological perspective, but just through my life I realized that so much of your growth and paths that open to you come from relationships, being open with others, and making mistakes you're afraid to make!! 🙏💗
I think one of the most important thing for INFPs is to allow ourselves to make mistakes, work past our perfectionism that often stops us from bringing our ideas into the world, and accept our own imperfections like you mentioned- but make the best of them!
I am an INFP and I like plans but I just can’t follow through with them 😅
Спасибо Брендон за понимание.. Какая может быть напористость когда порой бывает так одиноко и тяжело когда себя чувствуешь оторванной от мира и не такой как все.. Тут с ума бы не сойти от переполняющих эмоций.
This is definitely me, big time, lol. I'm wondering how enneagram types might play into this. For example, INFPs are very often type 4 or type 9, and I feel like type 4s might be more likely to come off as "intense" in general (both in terms of speaking about their passionate interests, and also emotionally), whereas type 9s are more likely to have sporadic moments of intensity, especially if they are leaning into 1 or 8, but would overall be more likely to be the "laid back" one who was taken aback by the intensity of others. (Although that being said, I think being unsettled by the intensity of others is actually a sign of NOT being all that laid back yourself.)
I'm an INFP and I have definitely gotten the impression that I've made others feel like I'm intense. It's not like I even try to be. I'm genuinely excited about certain things and I'm generally open about what those things are and why they fascinate me. That can make some people uncomfortable, though.
Why even communicate unless you're moved by something?!!
@@julieolson1402 😅agreed
INFJs strike me as more intense. I'm an INFP. I think I come off as laid back but I'm not. And yes, intense when discussing a passion. Otherwise, no.
I can absolutely relate, the emotional intensity is mostly a gift for me, especially when the negative emotions can be channeled into a passion. Honestly, in general, I frequently go through periods of just choosing to be aloof because of how intense I've noticed myself get when engaging with topics I care about, especially if the emotions stirred up are negative. But that conflicts with another part of myself that I believe is an INFP trait; wanting to help. This topic could spiral into an essay for me 😅. I'm an INFP, my best friend is an INTJ, and she's definitely intense in her own ways. 🙏🏽Thank you.
Yeah well said bro. My team just lost at home real madrid. I'm just so depressed. I'm passionate about them. Just lost to barcelona. 😢But exactly your right, my rent is proof imao
"Feel like" And charisma.
I've been seeing a therapist for almost two years (CBT approach) because I felt I was in a really dark place in my head and saw no way out of that, at least, no way out without having to give up on my ideals, ideas, and thoughts about life, and I really care about them. I would better say that they are what matters the most to me. According to the therapist, my problem would be that I 'avoid' normal life situations, like talking to people, dating someone, and so on, and I end up isolated. I don't really agree with this point of view, but I have been trying to follow these kinds of advice because I was kind of desperate in my own pain, so I have been trying to compromise my need of 'being in my head' with trying to live a life outside of it. Although I feel that the therapist doesn't really understand me, I think that this perspective could be somehow related to your idea of getting closer to being a healthy INFP. The most difficoult part is to find an "idealistic" reason to get out in the world, I feel that I really need a reason to do that which has to make me feel really "emotionally involved" into it. But when I find this reason inside of me, what I get is that the world doesn't really understand it, and that's the most frustating part.
Music🎵🎶
It would be lovely if you used captions on your videos... From capcut❤
Being in the moment is when riding a horse or swimming, working out in a gym but yeah the mind still wanders even then 😊
Yeah, i think this is spot on. For me the way of being is skepticism, this allows me to looking into every idea without clinging to it,and keep exploring. Maybe im not even an infp anymore and im ok with that. Yes we need peoples, friends, culture, work, to contribute to the whole. Find people whom appreciate what you can bring to the table.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I am INFP. This is me 😂❤
Me too, INFP realness
