Welcome to my UA-cam page, thanks for visiting!
I started recording myself doing live music jam's back in April this year, (another lockdown musician!) and much of the stuff I'm recording here are practice jams or sketches. Electronic music creation is a huge passion of mine, and I have been releasing stuff online since around 1998 (via MP3.com & other sites - links to all my back catalogue below). Lately I have become obsessed with making music on the fly, and whilst I am certainly not a great musician or player, I nevertheless love to play and improvise and see where stuff goes.
I'm posting live jams, live stream performances, maybe the odd tutorial or walk through as well as some visual stuff related to my artwork endeavours. I also create music under the pseudonym "The Rosen Corporation".
If you like this material please consider subscribing or supporting me via my Bandcamp page.
Thanks!

Morphic Resonance 55 - Live Performance 09.11.24
My recent performance for the MR55 event.
This was a live improvisation using various synths, a modular rig and a drum machine. Fairly minimal and experimental.

My recent performance for the MR29 event. Once again the set revolved around the Elektron gear, Octatrack, Digitakt, however, also in play was a Roland MC707. Live arranging premade parts on the Elektrons, live improv' sequence and beats writing on the 707, and live noodling on the synths. Whole event is available here: ua-cam.com/video/NF21ImBd-a0/v-deo.html
Dubby Trip Hop/ Acid/ Electro - Live Performance, Electron Octatrack, Digitakt, TR08, TB03 +
Переглядів 2062 роки тому
This is my recent live performance for Morphic Resonance 8, where I based the whole thing around Elektron gear, namely the Octatrack and Digitakt. Octatrack was serving as a sampler and loop machine synced to the Digitakt for the first 30 minutes, then for the second part it was a performance mixer and live resampler (being fed by the Roland TR08 and TB03). Also in play were Korg Wavestate, Ops...
Acid/ Electro/ Experimental - Live Improvised Jam, Electron Octatrack, Roland TR08, TB03 +
Переглядів 1862 роки тому
This is a improvised jam, a rehearsal of sorts for an upcoming gig, though this is just messing around with one aspect of what I will do; namely, getting to grips with Octatrack as a live mixer/ remixer tool (in the gig I will also use it as a sampler and sequencer). The main focus is the TR08 and TB03 going into the Octatrack, so there is a bit of an Acid Electro vibe going on, though I also f...
Dark/ Ambient Impromptu Live Jam - Roland SH01, Deckards Dream, 2600, Wavestate, Reface CP

Just a quick jam testing a rewired studio set up to accomodate a new multitrack recorder/ mixer. No plan with this, just created a moody SH01 sequence, a few patches and recorded a take. Its a journey into dark experimental slightly jazzy territory with a witchy beat!
Dark Experimental Ambience & Beats 2 - (Live Stream 06.03.21)
Переглядів 913 роки тому
Second Livestream as "Non Dreamers". Quite a bit of prep in this one, so more biased towards Ableton and Push for control of pre prepared clips controlling the software synths. That said, there is still a fair bit of hardware sequencing and improv' going on. Similar style to previous, mostly dark vibes and twisted beats, with some parts venturing into more melodic territory. The various 303 (Ac...
Dark Experimental Ambience & Beats - (Impovised Live Stream - Deckards Dream, Roland SH01A + more)
Переглядів 2843 роки тому
This is a recording of a live improvised performance 20.02.21. Everything bar 1 preprepared sequence (first one) and the beats was created and arranged on the fly. This was my first time performing as "Non Dreamers", which is my more experimental dance music persona. That said its still quite close to my Rosen Corporation style, (especially the first piece). In terms of a journey, it starts out...
Making a track in Ableton Live from scratch, using Tal Bassline 101 instances only (in 17 minutes)
Переглядів 6233 роки тому
I decided to revisit the one synth track concept again, this time, to try and make a track in 10 minutes! My aim was to make the track, including the creation of patches on the Tal, compose and basically arrange. I failed the 10 minute deadline, (just missed it in terms of composition :)) But kept going to basic arrangement which took the whole excercise to just over 17 minutes. The effects cam...
Acid Techno track made using Behringer Neutron sounds only (RolandTB03, SH01A, & Keystep sequencing)

Small video experimenting on the Neutron. This was the second track I created in an Acid Techno style using just Neutron sounds, but for this one I recorded some video as well! As said, all sounds, including drums and percussion are coming from the Neutron. It does a pretty solid 303 impression when connect to the CV and gate of the TB03, though with some added modulation. It also behaves nicel...
"Nautilus" Ambient Berlin School Live Jam (Behringer Odyssey, Neutron, Model D, Roland Sys1 & more )
Переглядів 8954 роки тому
Another track recorded in July. I had forgotten about this one so was quite pleased to rediscover it! Its a longform piece, very much in the style of Berlin School, or downtempo. Very floaty and ambient with a simple drum track. This using my full setup, all controllers, plus Ableton Live running two VST instruments, GForce Virtual String Machine & MTron Pro. The master control is coming from t...

Ambient Berlin School, using Behringer Neutron only, with Zoom MS-70CDR for FX
Переглядів 1 тис.4 роки тому
A follow up to my last video where I used the Behringer Model D for everything; this time it's the Neutron! I have had this synth now for around 3 months, and if I'm being honest have yet to find its main strength in my set up. I have used it a lot, usually for weird sounds and leads, though it feels more like a support synth to my other instruments (so far anyway). So I had a go with using it ...
Ambient Berlin School Track using Behringer Model D only with Zoom MS-70CDR for FX
Переглядів 1,2 тис.4 роки тому
Occasionally I decide to limit myself to using just one synth in making a track. I have taken this approach in the past with the Tal Bassline 101 VST, also the Roland SH01A and the Roland System 1. Decided to have a go with the Behringer Model D using just outboard FX via the Zoom MS-70CDR. The bass and sequence parts were bread and butter for the Model D, its what it excels at, as where the me...
Live Improv Jam (Clip) (Behringer Model D Bass, Roland TR08, TB03 Acid, SH01A leads, & others)

I'm dropping these longform live jams, which are little journeys in themselves, with all their twists and turns, good and bad :) However I'll take out some snippet clips from these also that I think warrant their own video. I'd been jamming for 25 minutes before this serendipitous moment occurred. I had introduced some swing into the beats, which added a bit of extra groove, and came up with a ...

Quick sequencer based jam using all my hardware synths plus my newly acquired Strymon El Capistan Tape Delay Pedal, it more than lived up to my expectations :) On the VST side, just one synth Xils 505 strings. Loving the boc sounds
Dayum this is gorgeous! UA-cam suggested this video to me, and you got an instant sub. As an avid Berlin School/ Spacerock fan, gear minimalist and Neutron owner, I adore this track on several levels I agree with you, that the Neutron is probably best seen as a secondary/adjunct synth. The Neutron, in my opinion excels at weird synth effects, and more abstract and murky tones. It is very much a character synth, not a swiss army knife synth. To me, i sort of see it as a modern day equivalent of what the VCS3/Synthi was in the 70s, a super affordable, super flexible weird noisemaker that excelled at trippy synth effects, but wasnt anyone's first choice for a lead or a bass, unless you were looking for THAT sound, and were willing to wrestle with the beast to get it. Since the Neutron is so inexpensive and small, I am considering marrying it to a Pro1, or Wasp, or other inexpensive semi modular Behringer to add a more bread and butter voice, and a small sequencer/controller like a Keystep , and a few small pedals like the MS60cdr in a lightweight DIY case to make my own super portable and affordable synth in a suitcase type "modular skiff" for when i need that kind of trippiness
super les sons , musique envoutante bravo👍👍👍
Nice work. I have been considering getting the Neutron for some time now and this is pretty convincing.
Wunderbar - musik und vid!
Many thanks :)
Really nice!
Nicely done.
Richtig geil 🤩 sowohl Musik und Vid)😘
Very cool! Thx! 👍🏿😎👍🏿
thank *YOU* for the sonic journey
Superb, deep sound with many layers.

I've subscribed! It's a great environment for me, with a ton of awesome equipment! I'll be back to check it out‼️
Thanks a lot! Appreciate the feedback and support :)
It all gets a bit RHK about 25 mins in. Nice!
Cheers Maff, yes it goes off into more experimental land :)
Truth be told I was having a running battle with the Volca Modular, it wasn't doing what I expected and since it was dark I couldn't repatch it :D Still, it still sounds sort of interesting. I need to get proper pretentious and get some of those head mounted lights like what Orbital used to wear! :D
Nice Stuff ❤
Many thanks :)
I'm having a sample of that intro! 😁
Absynth! A morphed preset! :)
Wow love this one. Excellent jam!
Thank you so much! :)
Hey im thinking about getting a CDR for my model d do you think it works fine with it overoall or do you know better reverbs for it in the same price range?
I looked at a few pedals and decided on the CDR for its general flexibility, it does a lot! For that, I think it is worth the price. There are better reverbs out there, but if I was to get another reverb I'd go for something like the Strymon Big Sky, which is much more expensive. I thought about "Hall of fame", but again, for the price, and its ability to lots of other stuff, the CDR is great. I use its HD hall reverb combined with its particle reverb, and it sounds lovely as a send effect on my mixer.
@@safred thanks for the answer. I generally make my music with the help of an daw. Do you think the cdr is still worth when comparing with the huge amount of vst plugins out there? I have valhalla delay and room. Are the any features or sound capabilities the cdr has that these plugins dont?
@@unfilteredfungi It depends on what your after, I use a combination of outboard FX and vst's, I also have the Valhalla Vintage Reverb, and use Guitar Rig Pro for everything computer side. I use Outboard FX so I can jam with the hardware gear with live send effects. If I bring vst's into the live jam they use vst FX. Valhalla Vintage Reverb is a fantastic plugin, as is its Shimmer reverb, both very spacious and epic, whther its better than the Zoom, yes probably, but when the Zoom has HD Reverb and particle reverb combined, this also sounds pretty epic :) As said, if I had the spare cash I'd get the Big Sky or Eventide Space, but I'm satisfied with what I have currently
Well practiced at those 101 drum sounds these days, Pete!
Yes, I figured the 101 was my best chance at hitting a 10 minute deadline since I know it pretty well :)
This is how every tutorial should be done.
Many thanks! Glad you liked it :)
I just watched both of these. Really nice! This is the mindset I’m trying to get into.. less is more
Many thanks, glad you enjoyed them :) There is a new one now, which isn't split into two parts!
Nice sound and groove!!
really nice sounding track, i like it a lot! some great melodic acid lines you made from the neutron. i'm really considering buying a neutron myself. i bought a behringer wasp clone recently & thats a great sounding synth too. cheers!
Yes the Neutron is cool :) Initially I had a little battle with it, but now I have found its sweet spots and its working well for me. Thanks a lot for listening :)
Really nice work! Great sounds, great track. Gonna have to spend more time with my neutron...
Thanks a lot for listening! Yes the Neutron is revealing itself to be quite versatile :)
Cool track man, some nice warm tones
Thanks a lot for listening and your feedback :)
This was really cool, thanks for sharing!

Hardware does sound better!
Software also sounds good, its the tactile nature of the gear that has hooked me back onto hardware
really nice! more of it would be cool!
Thank you, I just made another 1 :)
Given the year/soft/machine specs, i say this is an amazing sci-fi 3D animation. I'd share it with 3D community, we want to find all the oldies. Or maybe just me ;)
