A random, unscripted and slightly meandering video on my home town. I wanted to throw this together because I feel that traffic issues in places where there aren't stroads or massive sprawl isn't discussed much in urbanist spaces, and wanted to offer a profile of a place where that applies. Here's a Tour of the Brand New Northern Line Extension (London Underground)
I live in greeley, I find it a little annoying that the current plans for the frpr would mean that it would be a roughly 20 minute drive to get to the nearest station, especially considering that Greeley is roughly 1.6x larger than loveland
Wish we could just take all the money spent on roads and highways so we could make all the HSR we want without having to pick and choose 1 or 2 places
the front range passenger rail should pass for funding in 2026, and is likely to be the “high speed” rail line. its pretty cool, i know that FRCC is currently doing a documentary about it
At beamish the 1950s town will have working trolley busses when it is finished to get from the main entrance
i always thought the Loop was from Woodhall Junction to Bellwater Junction.
Cheyenne (pronounced shai-AN) has little population, and it's doubtful that Wyoming would contribute to building the line. Fort Collins is a university town, which tend to be good markets for public transit. End the line there.
If tunneling becomes affordable, high speed rail might make most sense from Denver International Airport to various destinations in the mountains, saving tourists renting and driving in the mountains, especially in winter conditions. The train to Winter Park ski area proved popular.
Self-driving full-size buses would be more useful probably
Great video 👍Keep up the good work
Bring on more transit! Here in Los Angeles, they're building out the metro network and slowly building more bus and bike lanes, but it's not going anywhere quickly enough, and not enough people are supporting these projects.
Is this AI??? SHOCKING ACCENT
Does anyone know if DART+North and DART+South are going to be separate? Will you have to change trains in Connolly?
Dublin 3rd world infrastructure 😅
Never happen 😅😅
Fantastic video... very well researched... thank you for posting
"Dublin City is getting an Underground". Year 1905. What's another Century?!
Koch Brothers keep stopping high speed rail and they are a large part of the reason it keeps getting stopped.
Its a no brainer to build a depot and a staition at Humberside airport 👍
This is definately needed. I would use this frequently especially with it connecting to Dallas. From Dallas i would rent a car. As i work remote i would even complete part of my work day via the train as well if i didn't want to use my time off. I've done this in Europe before.
Prolly nevrr gonna happen😂
Wow, nice contents. With such content, you are under potential here. I reckon you need more publicity. Heard about leads press-agentry or media Hype ???
This will probably happen.I hope my grand children will make the most of it.Iam only 40.
They really should just connect Oklahoma City OK, Amarillo TX, Pueblo CO, Colorado Springs CO, Denver CO, Cheyenne WY, and Rapid City, SD with one long train route. There are literally NO north-south passenger routes anywhere throughout the entire Great Plains or Rocky Mountains states. You'd think Denver to Dallas would be a natural candidate for high-speed rail. It would be great to take a train between those two cities in 5-6 hours!
metrolinks biggest problem is the governments poor ability to complete anything properly, see our childrens hospital
Thanks so much for making this video! I have been disappointed with many other urban planning channels recently due to their heavy focus on statistics. I am a resident of Denver and I am super excited about this project and I am very happy that you are making a video about it. There is some good news about the project. It received over one half million dollars in funding for studying and is most likely going to get federal grants. I will keep watching your work, thanks again!
Nice video on the Sandtoft trolleybus museum. Thanks for sharing! Dayton, Ohio U.S.A., which has a pretty extensive electric trolleybus system, now has trolleybuses that can go off the wires and run some distance on batteries.

Nice video and discussion or their relation to trams. I've subscribed!
Off topic but why did you stop commenting in Joshimuz channel?
Rubbish. The regional train connects Airport and Central Station much faster than this bus line - which I don't think I've ever ridden even though I live in Copenhagen.
This line is such a joke. It's the busiest bus line is all of Nothern europe, and it has way too many daily passengers to not upgrade the line to light rail/tram, even big/double ones running every 3 min wouldn't be too much. Instead, Copenhagen is building a light rail through the suburbs with only 20% the current ridership, makes no sense.
The only problem by building a light rail there is that there is not enough space and the traffic which is also a joke would be even slower. The best alternative would be a metro
Sometimes when it is rush hour you even have to wait 3 departures again because of the crowd
@@MulleMapOf course there is space, just ban cars from those roads, and only use it for the light rail vehicles.
@@MulleMapYes, exactly.
Take with a pinch of salt Ireland doesn't do public transport well never has never will. Actually better transport 100yrs ago😅😊

Great video, reflecting on the wide build out of overall infrastructure in Paris region. The Saint-Denis Pleyel station will however open with the rest of the line 14 extension, right before the Olympics.
The person sounds like they're from Liverpool that's talking in this video
Probably in next 5 to 10 yrs but with irelands record on public transport 3rd world Dublin take with a pinch of salt 😂
I think the first segment of front range rail will probably be more like conventional intercity service rather than high speed via the BNSF mainline through Boulder (although speeds up to 180-200 km/h aren’t impossible), but there are also discussions about plans for a future segment to Greeley. Colorado also studied a high speed line that would go all the way out to Denver’s international airport, which isn’t the craziest idea either. There is a lot of potential for a variety of services if we are being honest. I also think there’s an argument for connecting Denver-Chicago with as fast of a train as we can justify so people get that whole “it’s not connected to anything else” argument out of their heads. Just my thoughts!! I appreciate you treating this topic seriously, as a resident along the front range, it’s frustrating when people don’t take our transportation need’s seriously! So thank you, I really enjoyed the video :)
Nice idea, but it won't happen, sadly. Leeds still doesn't have a tramway!
God I wish the US was capable of building modern large scale public transit at affordable prices
Eh; money would be better spent improving the connectivity via regional and commuter rails in connecting the metros of Boulder, Denver, Aurora together, and then maybe an intercity line to Colorado Springs but even then, the speed limits here are already really high, you'd need to average 100mph or more between Denver and Pueblo/Colorado Springs and that might just be too expensive but that sounds like a question for Lucid Stew.
very good video
Pronunciation was a hate crime 🤣
The line 18 ewtend to nanterre la folie not Saint Denis pleyel and line 7 entend to nanterre la folie
There is plans to extend line 18 to Saint-Denis Pleyel but nothing is budgeted and decided, even the Versailles Chantiers-Nanterre La Folie, which is arguable since the Transilien line U already kind of does the job...
Because it’s free lol

I think you’re last “Hot Take” is way more cold than you think it is. Liberals in the United States have basically conceded that we have a way easier time winning by reverse psychology conservatives, to the point It’s the only way to maintain a national majority.

I have always been surprised by the lack of a conservative urbanism+ movement seeing how every third argument boils down to the costs of current infrastructure being far to expensive to keep. Strong towns comes to mind in particular as an example of what a decently conservative argument could look like.
Good for mentioning Strong Towns; I feel they're a great example of what framing urbanism as an issue of fiscal conservatism looks like. I think it is noteworthy that people are more likely to take the 'Stroads are dangerous' lesson from them rather than the 'Stroads are fiscally irresponsible' one; that's understandable, but I feel the former is maybe a more powerful argument in the right places.
Already before encountering strong towns, I was asked by a british tory to explain the 15 minute cities some US-Republicans were going on about. After my short summary, he rebutted how those were all supposed to be good things from conservative principles, so how silly had those republicans to be with their conspiracy theorist ramblings. Well, those americans still fell on fertile grounds with much of the rest of his party, since there was noone putting it into an actually conservative framing and nobody publishing any such framing.@@skywardlp4916
I don’t know how much suspended Railway would work in places with higher snowfall, examples in Japan, China, and Germany have milder Winters. Was wondering how it would fare with colder temperatures, freezing rain, hail, and snow accumulation on top the elevated guideways like in Canada. Usually seeing all these suspended railways they’re like 4 train max length with max speed going to 60-100km/h. Seems to be more so like a medium capacity system with just having the Depot on elevated structures as well. Idk how feasible platform doors and automation to have faster regulated service and frequency. Though like a legacy system of NYC subway has 10 car trains and some trains with max speed upto 110km/h. Though bigger land area dedicated to it. Monorail have better views either like Seattle’s panoramic roof or suspended trains bottom windows, elevated rail no matter what kind have better views than underground. Was wondering for my city with busy corridors with medians if elevated train guideways was the way, but not sure what form to implement Edit: I’m talking about this from a Canadian perspective.
Thank you for the weather and capacity points! I'm obviously not calling for suspended monorails to replace existing lines, just noting that we're probably ignoring some very valuable niches for them. Shonan, a middle to low-density route through winding streets and hills, is likely the perfect use case for a suspended monorail.
Interesting video. As someone who grew up in Kansas, it is worth noting that we, despite being generally conservative, are very politically rational and tend to value good people and good policies over political party loyalty. Since living outside of Kansas I have seen that this is far less common, and people are much more inclined to vote straight ticket and support whatever their party generally supports, regardless of whether it's a good policy or not. That's the reason why I believe that the abortion referendum failed in Kansas.
I'm generally very sceptical of claims that 'Place X' is inherently more rational/apolitical than other places, but am willing to believe that Kansas has just the right mix of factors for a less overtly partisan political environment to exist. I think my main point is that a massive chunk of people really underestimate how much even just small changes in question and argument wording can sway opinion, and I think that's not something we're getting with a hyper-focus on cities and public transport as an environmental and equity issue (as valid as those arguments may be by themselves).
I always thought it a shame that the Dart Underground never went ahead. It would have given regional trail access to the Dublin city centre.
