rossett and esk from old dungeon ghyll
Переглядів 175День тому
a mid week walk, not the walk i originally was hoping to do, but still a great one all the same, trying another route up to rossett pike from the langdales, up rossett gill, the way i ended up taking back down would be a more boggy affair in better conditions, so id still like to do my original idea of a route but maybe on a longer summer time day,

just a short one of our family walk out from Hodge close quarry and cathedral caves, we were away in our caravan for a week in the lake district and had a few short trips to visit some stunning locations, hope you all enjoy this short video .
Glenridding Dodd and Sheffield Pike, short circular walk
Переглядів 64Місяць тому
due to the not so favourable forecast, we decided to stay relatively low, so this was a great choice, Glenridding Dodd is a great little hill for views, and Chris and Vic hadn't done these 2 wainwrights yet, not that either of them are baggers, and luckily the conditions today were better than we expected, ill add a link to my os maps where you can hopefully download a gpx of this short route e...
Lake District Old coach Road, & Great Dodd, from bogg to clagg
Переглядів 356Місяць тому
finally got round to biking the old coach road from st john in the vale, and was hoping to go up to great dodd and clough head, but i didnt get the conditions i was hoping for, the climb up to great dodd was one of the worst and hardest ive done yet on the bike, the route i did is recorded on strava so the route can be copied or gpx file downloaded from there www.strava.com/activities/127729510...

short notice wild camp with abbie
Переглядів 1802 місяці тому
just a short one this week, my daughter decided she wanted to do a wild camp so she could get some photos for one of her homework projects, so thought this area would be a good place to get to with not much preparation, ideally id of liked to get there a bit earlier and have some food to cook a better meal,
Scafell Pike , Englands highest hill
Переглядів 2932 місяці тому
thought id have a walk up Scafell Pike , ive done this route a couple of times in the past , but been a couple years since i last did it, in the past when ive done the complete route it has 4 wainwright summits on it, starting with Seathwaite fell, then up onto Great End, next one is Scafell Pike, then last but not least is Lingmell, all these peak have great views of the surrounding area and a...
Blencathra, with a first time hiker
Переглядів 1013 місяці тому
my younger sister decided she wanted to try walking a higher lake district hill, and after a discussion, she chose Blencathra, great choice for one to walk, challenging with great views, she was happy really pleased we did this one and so happy to achieve it, only downside was our decent, we came down partly on a route ive only ascended, descending was more of a challenge
Old Man Of Coniston, via Great carrs
Переглядів 1053 місяці тому
out for a hike up old man of Coniston, went up to levers water and up the prison band, first wainwright was swirl how , then went to visit the site of the landing gear memorial, then onto Great Carrs, the back on ourselfs to head over to Brim Fell and finally Old Man, making it 4 wainwrights, there is another couple that could be added to this route if your aiming to bag them, but ive already c...

out for a steady ride in the lake district, from glenridding up kepple cove, onto raise , stybarrow dodd, watsons dodd, then great dodd, then back down sticks pass, a first for me, ive seen a lot of riders coming down sticks pass but never done it myself till this ride, will definitely be doing it again, i couldnt add a link from strava for this ride , so hopefully you can get the gpx from my g...
Snowdon up the miners path
Переглядів 823 місяці тому
during a weeks holiday to Wales, we had a walk up Snowdon , this was my second trip up to the summit, firstly on my e bike, we set off from pen y pass carpark with the intention of doing either the miners or pig path, we chose the miners as there looked like more water supplies on this route , this was to help keep the dog hydrated and hopefully cooler, the microphone on my go pro seems to be p...
Snowdon on E bike
Переглядів 2854 місяці тому
my first time in Snowdonia, me and some of my mates decided to bike up Snowdon, please consider that this route isn't a flat track ride, the go pro i use to video this tends to make everything look flat and smooth, i can assure you it isn't, there is some rough technical climbing and descending, and our bikes are easily capable of this type of ride, we parked in Llanberis and went up the Llanbe...

Looks like a nice dry day. Classic trail. 😉
Great camp mate! Stunning views, looked unbelievable up there. Well done, smashed it. Camera quality looks great. New sub from us!
Thanks, it’s definitely an area I would happily go back too, hopefully be back out camping soon 👍
I need a Tom Tom
Not for there now you should know it all now
Always wanted to do that route mate, cheers for sharing marra. Just subscribed from a fellow UA-camr 😉👍
Thanks ill repay and go sub to your channel too, its a nice little walk, hope you enjoy 👍
Nice to see the lads out!
Was just a short low level one mate, but the crack was brilliant, couldn’t put most of it on, Vic swearing and all the name calling going on haha
Yes xxx.
Fantastic to be out and about in the great outdoors. Plenty of fresh air on that one!
It was a great spot, plenty of good views and chill time
So, did you double back on yourself from summit & take the less loose track to the Unlock pike col?
Only asking as the map looks like you won't back on yourselves from the summit
Yeah we came off skiddaw down one of the 2 loose ways, one starts off more switch backs apparently, we took the other one which we were told is harder as it’s straighter and gain more speed, but only done this one off so can’t compare as not done both
Ace. The route we took ... corridoor decent goes on for ever though. Cheers from Cornwall.
Thanks, the corridor route is a nice walk, but I did forget how long it was
Hi there great video. Im going for the first time to snowdon and taking the minors track, was it hard when it started getting steeper or is it achievable getting to the top?
I found it quite easy, but I walk quite regularly, my partner and daughter don’t, and they found the hike ok apart from the heat on the day.
GReat watch Phillip Birchall captured a good day in the lakes and the weather was spot on. cheers for a great day.
Fairfield horseshoe next time mate
Beautiful ❤❤
Stunning area, well worth a visit
Looks like a great route def will give it a go👍
On a clear day the views are really good
That looked like a cracking ride mate 🤙🏻
Cheers, It’s definitely one I’ll do again and maybe add helvellyn on
Good efforts on the techy sections mate 👍shame having to miss out Helvelyn....but you got a good day out and that's what it's all about 😊
Thanks, ive already done helvellyn a couple of times on an mtb, im hoping to get out on more rides like this, more of an explore than a set route 👍
Hi can i have gox please. The link in description is not working

Try this mate, the link worked ok when i clicked on it
You picked the right day for it mate
Definitely mate, walked it later in the week and it was the same, amazing area
@@phillipbirchall7148your not wrong there mate
Did you use os maps to navigate? Class video mate
Yeah I use os maps to plot the route, save to my mobile app and garmin fenix watch then use both navigate,
@@phillipbirchall7148nice one, planning on doing it next week but that beginning part looks a bit of a pain. Looks easy to get lost
@@abbottsadventures it’s not the best but the is app on your phone will keep you right, it’s a walk I would like to do again, but I think I’ll take an extra day next time
That’s defo his dad
Did that ride a few years ago , scary descent .well worth the climb .
We enjoyed the whole ride, next time we go we know what to expect on that decent, so hopefully won’t be as slow haha
I like the Kepple cove route up and back down the same way
I recently went up kepple cove and went over to the Dodds and back down sticks pass , really enjoyed it, video will be on over the next couple days hopefully
Looks a great ride. I’ll be taking a few calmer lines in future, sat here with 2 broken ribs at 56 yr old. Easy to break bones as you get older and the pain seems worse😂
It was a good ride , and definitely one to take care on, hope your healed soon fella 👍
Brilliant video!
Thanks 👍
Hi mate loved the look of this ride, heading up to sky in August, do you happen to have the gpx for it still? 👍🏻
I’ll have a check see if I can find it 👍
explore.osmaps.com/route/22160959/broadford-loop
Thats the gpx file i downloaded from komoot,
Hell of a Trip out that fellas 👊🏻👊🏻
Cheers fella, get your bike ready and come with us next time 👍
Looked like a great camp, and some proper cooking too! 👍👍
Thanks, hopefully going to get better with the cooking side of it all 😂😂
Save me a sausage
Too slow, long gone haha
That;s why I love to watch video from Scotland... Amazing scenery my friend. Bravo!
Thanks, I’d really like to visit the Scottish highlands more, be amazing in winter conditions up some of those hills
Great video mate, where did you park your car and launch from, didn't quite make out whereabouts/what beach in your video where you paddled from and parked car. Great to see there's a little beach/shoreline on the Island you can leave Kayak, must pay a visit there this year 😀
Cogoyne national trust car park fella,
@@phillipbirchall7148 Cheers fella 👍 👌
Delighted you are enjoying our beautiful country. Hope to see you doing many more hills up here. Btw, it's ALWAYS windy in the Lawers group..😂
I wish i could visit the highlands more, im heading up to glencoe area this weekend, hoping to do some wildcamping , fingers crossed the weather forecast is right 😂😂😂
can you please share the route as this looks amazing, where did you park?
Hi , I just parked in hartsop, but that car park can get busy, as for route I don’t have a link to a gpx for this one as it’s a straight walk up from hartsop, just follow the path up to hayswater
Nice 1 👍
Thought it was a Ben Cathro video, LOL. Good job and the terrain not to crazy.
Hi. Scottish based rider here. That looks my cuppa tea so may try this when I'm down at Easter. What was your battery usage mate?
I think I used around 60% on this ride, it’s a nice route, I’ve done a few in that area all really good 👍
@@phillipbirchall7148 Thanks for that. I have a 900WH battery so that will ideal

Blowing a bit of a hooly. 😂. Have u got the GPX file for your route mate. Looks canny
Yeah mate, are you wanting it ? I’ll send it on Facebook messenger if you do mate
Looking forward to getting back out again soon Mr Birchall
It’s been a while mr Shipley haha
Wow amazing spot. Great video! It instantly brought back memories of my recent snowy retreat in the mountains. Liked and subscribed!
Thanks, this was my first time in the snow, but like spending time in the Lake District in all weathers, some amazing places to camp and hike
Looks great, just a bit more snow and you could've skied up and down - cheers, norway
I think a sledge might be my ability level haha, thanks for your comment
Kirk fell is great. Love the route straight up it from Wasdale Inn. Great winter trip out for you. Best wishes.
Ive not walked it from wasdale head, but ive heard its a nice walk, bit of a challenge haha
What language are they speaking?
Who ?
@@phillipbirchall7148 the people in the video
@@danielmccarthyy English, we are from the north east of England
Just subbed u mate. Good footage. Definitely looks an easier route up to Kirk Fell. The last time I was up there, I walked it from Wast Water, straight up the nose. Certainly wouldn’t like to do it with the big bag. 😂
Definitely not mate, I think beckhead will be a good spot, a couple lads from work are wanting to do a camp, that’s why we walked it yesterday
Looks a canny spot.
Enjoyed that but probably not as much as you ! That stew looked better than anything i can conjure in my own kitchen 😂 Keep getting out there 💚👍
Thanks, a couple of better UA-camrs inspired me to try the trangia, great bit of kit, thanks for your comment 👍
Did the exact same route, but in reverse, last year for my first trip to the Lakes, spent the night by Sprinkling Tarn...... Nice upload, thanks for the memories. ATB
Its a great area, both routes up are a nice walk with some scenic potential camping spots, thanks for your comment 👍
What camera are you using to video?
Im only using a GoPro 10 at the moment,
I have never been ,was worried might get 'lost in the mountains' but after seeing this i can rest easy ,the signposts were a nice surprise and seems like they'll be plenty of people to stop and ask directions if i get stuck lol :) ,cool video thanks for uploading .
The route we ended up doing was fairly straight forward, we originally intended coming back down over raise and sticks pass, explore.osmaps.com/route/19822400/helvellyn-ebike-route
Nice 1 lads !
First viewer..... your welcome..... very nice
Not a bad spot mate, apart from the crap some people leave behind
Great clear conditions.
It was a good day, if anything a bit too warm for me, but enjoyed it all the same, went camping after this walk
Go on Phil Lad !! 🤙🏼
