The familial relationships in Arcane are so visceral and real, it's so easy to say Mel and Ambessa had a toxic mother-daughter relationship, and that's not incorrect, but it's also so much more complicated and painful than that, just like in real life. It's that repeated theme of "Why does anyone commit acts others deem unspeakable? For love" / "Is there anything so undoing as a daughter?" That anguish of loving someone and hating them at the same time, of knowing them so intimately because you were family yet seeing them as a stranger because who they are is the antithesis of you, of doing horrible HORRIBLE things for them because it's the only way you know how to show love, of seeing this person you look up to and love committing unspeakable acts _for you_ and hating both yourself and them for doing it- I'm probably not making sense, it's later than I'm usually up and I have work in the morning, but I just watched another Arcane AMV put to The Scientist by Coldplay so I'm very emotional and incoherent rn lol

When I was a teenager, a podiatrist told me i would never be able to run again. Im happy to report that he was wrong and after almost 8 years in barefoot style shoes im able to run wonderfully.
