@thereforeiyam I understand it's a joke, but it's not a good one. It's a joke at the expense of the two best installments in the franchise, and two of the best movies of the genre, and of cinema. I don't understand why anyone should take you seriously if that's what you lead with.

The title is written like that so more people click it, they see "i walked out" and ignore the (almost) :p

I’ll keep the correction in mind. However, my opinion of the movie aligns with wanting to walk out of this movie, but sticking it out anyway. I’m not sure any reviewer has ever walked out of a movie and proceeded to review it in its entirety the next day lol.

Todd Phillips definitely burned away 200 million because of his own hatred of the first film and because everyone kept "getting it wrong." Truthfully, this film did not speak to me in any other degree than that. I can't tell if that's the one of the most insane perfectionism we've seen or the dumbest thing he could have done out of vengeance on studios/the audience. Man was crashing out.

This one is a interesting take, thank you for sharing! Apologies for the long speech ahead, but I'm a yapper. Okay, me going into this, I wasn't thinking that this Joker was the guy Batman would go toe-to-cowl with -- but I see that point actively when I had friends attend screenings. 1. Bruce Wayne is like eight in the first movie and Joker would be sixty by then haha. 2. This Joker is a different iteration that I don't see being able to withstand those confrontations. I think above all, the movie is very dishonest to fans of the character, outside of those intentions you describe. Marketing and concept-wise, we can definitely share some of the blame on our high expectations lol. But, the first one NAILED a certain cord and balance that fans can connect on -- mental health, vengeance, and their consequences. Every death in that movie/crime committed is heavy and they take time to explore that instead of "ah well, just another Joker antic, let's keep this train going!" until the end of course. Something about this second film feels more dangerous. I think it's unbiased to say it is a miserable experience going in after knowing this character and seeing him go through much more. Suicidal imagery is thrown around wildly, abuse is casually thrown in, and he is left bleeding out with no one while another feeds into his own delusions based of Arthur's misery. I could make the more poised arguments in defense of this movie needing to course correct certain themes, but I personally would not find myself watching this again just to change my opinion.

I don’t know, seeing a guy down on his luck and being laughed at every turn in film 1, just for film 2 to continue to push and shove him beyond his limit with no reason behind it. It’s hard not to and be angry, but as long as we agree, this should never exceed to excuse heinous crimes he commits.

It was good, it just felt like torture porn imo, i was starting to lose inmersion by just how much shit was happening to the guy in such a short amount of time haha.

That's how I felt too! I was like, "it doesn't have to get better or have a happy ending, but we can at least stop this insane beat down of this character." It felt like Todd Phillips was Batman in this case, handing out class-act vengeance with the nastiest combos.

That's a new thing I found out recently, which is so wild to me too! The whole incel attachment makes no sense. I'd say to those people, "How? In this movie, none of his victims are women except his mother and he blames EVERYONE for his treatment in society, instead of just women." Seems like this movie was doomed from the start in that case. Is there no such thing as having empathy for any person that gets dogged on by life (before Arthur commits fictional crimes, OBVIOUSLY) and suffers from relentless mental illness? Not only that....it's a comic book film. Pretty sure no one is siding with Thanos' actions if he were a real person. Says a lot about those people than this movie.

They pretty much reverse and just shit on it. And given the name to Ben solo lol. Ben should been like in mara child name in the books lol. But thrawn and the witches of dathmir. They didn't rewrite the season just cut down the two ending episodes... That's the problem, because the writing is horrible.

You 100% should, it's a pretty underrated watch in my opinion. I have yet to see the Netflix one, but I definitely miss shows/films messing around with supernatural concepts. I'm soooo pumped for Nosferatu.

Same! They seemed to skip it in the episode interviews, so I was stunned. No one talked about it. Performances were great, as always. It just seems like production lacked the confidence to lean into it and decided at the last minute to keep it in.

There was a interview where Leslye reportedly stating that "some" of her fanfiction elements made their way into the series. So, it wouldn't be an unfair assessment. I can respect the grind of a fellow fanfic girl, but let that stuff stay on AO3 -- not all of them are winners lol. Exactly! I had a lot of hope with Ahsoka. Grant, haven't watched it, but it's my favorite character with an OG character we've wanted to see on screen. Obi-wan left me SALTY and from what I hear, Ahsoka's not super great. But, Acolyte takes the cake in overall awfulness. We'll be waiting some time before they decide to do some corrective measures.

It's so damn ridiculous because the whole idea depends on the enemy X Wings flying along exactly one meter above her head - for her to actually reach them with her lightsaber. I mean, before Acolyte, I thought Obi Wan's chipmunks stapled on top of each other in one suit and Ahsoka's spaceship yoga would be the two lowest points for a longer time, but hey...

He seemed like a pretty intriguing character to me, not deterred from this point, but my feelings have definitely lessened. I do see that he's just a character that creates conflict, rather than conflicted. We'll see what happens. A lot of other characters this season feel like they were just for status updates and had nothing designated for them. But, I think the relationship between Viserys and Daemon made his character seem like more.

I usually see that as a red flag if a company decided shorter episodes are the best bang for their buck, but decide then four seasons would be best. Stretching it out? Pretty fishy. The Mysaria bit felt SO out of place. I had a clip that I guess I missed of me saying, the most normal relationship and it's the least believable. Yeah, that Daemon bit threw me a curveball, THAT was gross lol. But, I was meaning that final hallucination/dream when he touched the Weirwood/Godswood tree to Helana tasking him with his part to play in the games to follow.
