    Your presentation of the shops closed on Sundays has several important inaccuracies. 1) You show it as if Poland was the only country with such a ban, which is not true, many European countries have/had it in different periods, now it's Germany for example. I personally roamed a mall closed on Sunday (except for its food court) in Athens, Greece. 2) The official reason for introducing the ban in Poland is to promote spending time with family (also religious reasons are stated). But, if this was true, all shops should be closed, but it's not the case. The reasons are different and have to do with Polish social-partisan politics. The ban is aimed specifically at shopping malls and discount chains. 3) As said, not all shops are closed on Sundays, for example most of the Żabka convenience chain's units or various stores at petrol stations are open. As are restaurants, bars, family-run shops and farmer markets (if they all wish to). Apparently people working in at those places don't have families? 4) The ban does not apply to all Sundays in a year. In 2024, 7 Sundays are "handlowe" (commercial), the nearest falls on 25th August, later on the 15th and 22nd December. Again contradicting the "time with family" reason and actually admitting that many people need Sundays to buy products (officially it is said that Sundays are unnecessary for customers). 5) Not all Poles "accept" the ban, in a recent survey 27% were against it (8% indifferent). And, the relatively high 65% proportion of those who "support" the ban is doubtful, because on such surveys always some people give answers that they consider politically correct. Besides, as I went to a big shopping mall outside Warsaw on a commercial Sunday this year, the huge attendance also put a doubt on the credibility of the survey. As a Polish saying goes, "they voted with their feet".

An incredible energy, a constantly changing City, in a very high tempo. I rembember Warsaw in the last 80's...another City, another world. Just a fascinating City, not comparable to any other one -also due to its tragical History what can be seen in its mix of architecture today. Unic City Varso viiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiie !

    You're wrong about the quality of Vistula river's water (its colour is determined by natural sediments). It has improved greatly in recent years, and now does not render swimming dangerous in this regard anymore. So why (most) people don't swim in it in the city area? Because it's officially forbidden - the city authorities quote whirlpools and strong currents as the reason. But the truth is, they are just unwilling to invest in floating pools (like those in Helsinki, Oslo or Copenhagen, etc.). This has been discussed for years without conclusion. Perhaps the climate warming may eventually force officials to take action to let people swim in the river (as they did until the early 1970s). You have stated long gloomy winters and unstable summers as Warsaw's weather drawbacks, but increasingly frequent heatwaves should be added, as there's no escape from them in the city other than a/c malls and overcrowded outdoor swimming pools.

    • @explorewithkojo
      @explorewithkojo 10 днів тому

      Hi Benwars9524, thanks for your enlightening contribution and correction! We appreciate the insight about the Vistula River's water quality and the real reasons why people don't swim in it. It's indeed frustrating that there's been so much talk but little action on creating better swimming options in the city. And you're spot on about the heatwaves-definitely something that should have been mentioned in the video. We'll definitely tackle that in a future video. Thanks once again for sharing this with us; it really adds to the conversation!

However, in order to enjoy this free service, you'd need to proof that you are actually up to 70 years old and you can show proof of this with an official ID or your passport. Apparently even foreigners 70 and above can also use Poland's public transportation for free.

    There's a black American woman to send me the slaves here in America. Why would I leave America even though it's shity. To go somewhere with the people or literally risking their lives to get to America. This makes no sense when I see black Americans going to Africa. And then we hear the horror stories and they're pleading and begging for someone to send the money on a GoFundMe so they can get back home. To the United States of America. When I should have never took their black asses to Africa anyway those people do not identify with us. They don't even like us even when they're here in America. So why would I go there. 🤔😏🙆🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️🤷🏽‍♀️

    I think you can live comfortable in some Africa countries for about $1000 a month but $300, I will have to question that. If rent is included what type of housing conditions one will be comfortable living. Yes, the native probably can live with only $300 but someone from the Europe and US couldn't. Just my opinion. I have traveled to several African countries and lived in one for six months. I just don't see it possible living on $300.

      Hi there! Yes, indeed, a foreigner can live a decent and comfortable life in certain Ghanaian cities like Koforidua with less than $300 a month. The cost of living in places like Koforidua is extremely low. For instance, you can rent a modern one-bedroom apartment for as low as $40 a month. While it might be challenging to live on $300 a month in Accra due to the high cost of living, Koforidua and similar cities offer a much more affordable lifestyle. I've personally lived in these places for years and know people who manage comfortably on this budget, so I can assure you that it's possible. It might seem surprising, but the low costs for rent, food, and other necessities make it feasible. Thank you for sharing your experiences and opinions!

    I lived at Koftown from 1983-1986, and all that they're saying is true. Besides, it's only about an hours drive to Accra

    Interesting and informative video! However, it would be better if Malcolm showed us around his apartment. Would be good to see what to expect for the rent he's paying.
