      ah no. you don’t need to buy extra ticket. tokyo wide pass is enough. actually tokyo wide pass is already the ticket. I would suggest to reserve your seats in shinkansen using the tokyo wide pass in advance.

    Thank you for a memory trip. Several decades ago, I was one of a number of international academics ( Oxford University ) invited to participate in a lecture series, on Comparative Medieval History, hosted by the University Faculty of History. It was an absolutely splendid event, the students very attentive, the interpreters highly skilled and competent , and I was looked after with a level of kindness and regard which, I think has never been matched since !!! Very nicely filmed and such a wonderful time of the year - well done indeed :)

      I went alone during the beginning of this year for the first time, and I am not an experienced hiker but I definitely recommend a guide. I went from Kama Tunnel all the way to Myojin Bridge and back which was essentially 12 miles. There is also barely anyone there, I have only seen 3 or 4 people during my entire day hiking. -When you go through the tunnel you are walking on a constant incline for 1.5 miles. I had to take several breaks inside the tunnel due to being out of shape. -I came very unprepared. I had no hiking stick and only wore a middle layer, jacket, snow pants, and snow boots. There are many parts where the snow can reach past your knees. There were a couple of times snow went inside my boots. I found a huge dead tree branch and used that as my hiking stick. -I had no bear bell and I was alone. Thankfully I never encountered any bears but there were signs that they were around recently. If I encountered a bear during that time I would be walking on eggshells if I made the wrong move. -The weather was mostly favorable but it can get intense, it rained and hailed during certain times of the day I was there. There are avalanche warnings in certain spots as well, thankfully none of that happened.

    This video is not very interesting. After 4 or 5 minutes without undertitles, I stopped watching it. I understand that englisch is not your first language (its not my first language either), but if you want to make a channel for non japanese, you have to try a bit more :-). Why not tell us about the history of the park for example ? Or about some plants there ? Or special food that is eaten around the park ? Or anything else....

    This is a good video, thank you for posting and for creating it. I am not yet finished with watching it, and I am only at 14:31. I have already tried out to see more infos about the hotel. For further videos: when you provide a link (like you did here), please make sure that when we click on it, a new window opens, and the video stays open in the earlier window. Which is not the case now :-(. The hotel doesnt seem to have an englisch website. I love Japan and look forward to my 4th visit in March, I dont speak japanese, and have no problem travelling to places where no japanese is spoken (because we can always get by, with apps and goodwill). But if a hotel is not providing any englisch translation, it seems a bit to me like they dont want gaijins to stay there. Is that the case here ?

    • @swissfoodie3542
      @swissfoodie3542 Місяць тому

      We have stayed in Yakushima last year, in a ryokan with null englisch spoken, and had a wonderful time. And we will travel to Tohoku in March and dont expect much englisch there. But a lot of goodwill and kindness, which we have always found so far in Japan.

      @swissfoodie3542 Місяць тому

      I am now near the end of the video. I still like the video, but not the hotel. Food is very important for me when travelling, and here, there is pseudo european food for dinner. Thanks for sharing the video. I plan a day trip to Lake Shikotsu Ice Festival 2025 via public transport. Travelling in a family of 4 including 2 young kids. Can share more details about the bus trip from Chitose Airport to Lake Shikotsu and the return trip to Chitose Airport? What's your arrival time and departure time from Lake Shikotsu? I plan to take 8.25am or 9.35am bus from Chitose Airport to Lake Shikotsu. Will it be enough time to stay there from 10am to about 5pm? Are there any issues to catch the last bus at 5.45pm from Lake Shikotsu to Chitose Airport? I'm thinking to stay past 4pm so that I can enjoy the night illumination for at least 1 hour before catching the bus back to Chitose Airport for a return to Sapporo Station. Is there a chance that the bus will full and unable to board? I hope you can shed more light about the return trip for the bus as there are limited information available on goggle. The number of bus trip to Lake Shikotsu is also limited and I do not wish to be left stranded at Lake Shikotsu with my 2 young kids. Thanks.

      Will it be enough time to stay there from 10am to about 5pm? -> Yes, I think it's more than enough to enjoy that place. I am not sure if there would be multiple buses that will pick you up at the last schedule. I would suggest if you will take up the last bus, try to be in front of the line. Otherwise, I would suggest to get taxi phone number if you are not able to ride the bus going back to airport.

    This is so cool, I was thinking about booking for this but I only know English and very little Japanese. Do they have a English tour guide as well?

      We got lucky that our guide is Taiwanese so he can speak to us in English. You probably need more research if there is an English guide in the island.
