Kuya thank you so much for the informative video. We plan to go in a few days.. pano po kayo nag heat ng water for cup noodles? Also.. pag trek sa dulo balik lang dn tlga? Di naman kami mawawala ryt basta stay lang green rope?
How much is the ticket for the gondola lift noah? Thanks!
here’s the price list. iwatake-mountain-resort.com/winter/rates about 6000 yen for adults. please subscribe!
hey fellow filipino! great video! questions: You guys did just a one day trip to Zao Onsen? How long was your route from the top of the mountain back to base camp? For people who don't ski or snowboard, can they take the gondolas back down? Thank you!
This video we did 2 days. But it’s possible to do one day trip as well. Gondola to the top is available for everyone (for non-skiers as well). it takes about 30 minutes going to top (2 gondolas). but make sure to allot more time as it gets crowded. (maybe allot 2 hours to go up). you can take same gondola going down. enjoy kayo sa zao! please subscribe!
@@genobear Thank you for all the advice! I'm actually trying to plan a trip there and Tokyo with 5 days of snowboarding hahaha!
I have watched the first part of this video, and I really like it. I have never taken an overnight bus in Japan, as I am a very bad sleeper. It does seem interesting though, and with enough stops for restrooms (as shown on your video), I might consider it for the future. Did you manage to get some sleep ? Arriving in Hakuba Iwatake so early seems a bit incovenient. But it looked so amazingly beautiful with all the snow and the colors of the sky. Really like a winter wonderland ! The teashop looks so cozy. I am from Switzerland, and I dont do any winter sports, but still, I woud like to visit, and just walk around and then have tea and scones there.
I have now finished watching this video, and it was so pleasant, thank you very much for it. You are such a cute couple. The snow area which can be visited by everyone (even by people who dont ski or snowboard), looks like a lot of fun, especially the area for the dogs, and the sling. Nice touch with the jodeling music 🙂.
yes. we were able to get some sleep as the lights inside the bus is turned off. and normally bus doesn’t go fast so it’s not shaky. but you do get to rest every 2 hours so at least you have chance to stand up and stretch a bit. yeah, arriving early is tough but good thing the hotel has waiting area so we were able to sleep in sofa. (video upcoming soon). yes the tea shop is cozy and accessible for everyone. you just need to go down by lift (for non-skiers).
yes, it’s perfect place for everyone. glad you enjoyed our video! it is also good place to visit during autumn as well.
I miss this place so bad 😭
Hi! Im going to zao next month and was wondering if we have to take multiple gondolas to reach to the top?? We’re not skiing so is it still possible?
Yes, you can still reach the top by taking two gondolas without skiing / snowboarding. First gondola you need to take is Zao Sanroku Station then switch gondola at Juhyo Kogen station until you reach the gondola top station called Jizo Sancho station. Please subscribe!
Which route was this? My green car in the Nozomi from Tokyo to Kyoto was very different, this is interesting
The route is from Tokyo to Iiyama via Hokuriku Shinkansen (JR East). Shinkansen from Kyoto to Tokyo is by JR West. I hope you enjoyed the video. Please help by subscribing!
GeishaBara
Really enjoy watching it. I hope there will be plenty of snow early in March
It's always hard to predict the weather but hopefully March will be a good snow month for you. Please subscribe as I will be uploading more snowboarding videos at other places.
Thank you po for your video, it’s beautifully shot. If we go on a day trip from Sapporo, what would be the best time of the day to arrive at Lake Shikotsu to be able to get good videos and photos. We would love to have a day time video as well as the night illumination during their ice festival.
You are welcome. Glad you enjoyed it. You may check the accuweather during that time to know if its clear sky, anytime of the day is beautiful. It really depends as nature can't be controlled. Just dress properly. If you want until night illumination you can go there at afternoon then wait for it till night time. Just make sure the ice festival is still there by checking the website until when and the time it is opened. Also make sure about the bus time table or the contact number of taxi.
Thank you so much
Hi there, Thank you for sharing. I will stay there this March. Is the hotel close to the shops and restaurants?
Yes. The hotel is close to many shops and restaurants. But be aware that restaurants are fully booked during dinner so I suggest to make reservation. For more details, please watch my another youtube about Nozawa onsen town. I always wonder about "Sa uulitin". This sounds finish to me (but I have no idea about finish language). Are you a finish / japanese couple ?
"Sa uulitin" means "Until next time" or "See you again next time". We are from Philippines.
@@genobear Thank you very much for the answer. Wow, I was so wrong about finish then 🙂.
I have never taken the Green Car in Japan, so it was very interesting for me to see, how it is. Thank you for showing us this. It looks comfortable and very nice. But the normal class is also comfortable and nice. So I think, unless the normal class is fully booked on a train we really need to take, we will stick to it.
I agree that normal car is also comfortable. This time the normal car seats were already full so we had no choice but to take Green car. The seat was nice and comfy.
I like your content, and I like going for walks and see what there is to do/see/eat etc. in a small place like Nozawa Onsen. However, I felt that this video is too long, and there is no information on what we see, no food eaten, no history etc. - so its a bit boring (at least its for me).
thanks for your comment. I’ll try to keep that in mind.
The food looks tasty, but seems to be a bit repetitive. Also, if you dont eat/like pork, it might be a problem. Overall, the hotel looks clean but quite old fashioned. Too bad, that the public bath is so tiny.
Can i come by car and park it near the gate? Or do i have to take the bus? (beginning of April)
Private vehicles are not allowed. definitely you cannot park at the gate. that is not allowed. you can only park at sawando bus terminal. from there, you can take bus from sawando to the bus stop near the gate. kamikochi is opened from mid april so you have chance to take bus directly to kamikochi bus terminal without walking thru the tunnel. even though it is opened. private vehicles are not allowed to enter kamikochi. you are required to take the bus. please subscribe!
@@genobear I'll be there in early April before it opens. I'll park at Sawando Bus Terminal, take the bus to the gate, and continue like you did. I saw you said it's better not to walk alone in the snow and to take a guide. What do you think about going alone in early April? Maybe there will be less snow and more people, so it could be safer? thank you for the information and the quick response!
@@danunter I think early April is okay to walk alone and may have less snow (If you adventurous and already had experience with hiking, you should be fine). Of course be always prepared with clothes for cold as it tends to get below 5C. Enjoy your walk there! Btw, check the bus schedules from Sawando bus terminal, I am not sure if there are bus schedules from Sawando to Nakanoyu bus stop during early April. In case there's no buses, you can go by taxi. Please try to use this site for bus reservation. www.highwaybus.com/gp/inbound/inbPlanList?lineId=265 I only see reservations during February but I can't see reservations yet on April. Reservations might be available 30 days ahead so try to visit this website again from March to reserve your bus.
@@danunterhi I’ll be there in early April too, 9 Apr. i’m solo traveller.
@ So kind of you, thank you for the information!
Hallo. How to reservation/booking igloo restaurant?
I think you can try to reserve at this site. kamakura-ouendan.net/web/kamakura_calendar.php?lang=en&food=meal please subscribe!
May i know what time you visit at zao onsen and what time you arrive at sancho station ? Because all i heard when we arrive at summit it will snowstorm and in your video it didnt
It takes about 30 minutes from bottom of gondola to sancho station peak (if crowded it takes more time). It depends on the weather that day. It can be sunny and no snowstorms. Please check the weather forecast that day. please subscribe!
Loved your video! My wife and I will be there in March/April just to soak in those onsens. (We usually on the slopes in CA or CO.)
Glad you enjoyed it. Although you won’t be able to see the snow monsters by march, you can still enjoy other places in the town! Please subscribe!
Wie meine Meerschweinchen bloss in Gross 😊❤
Thank you. Please subscribe!
Are those the snow monsters? It does not look huge like the one in the photos
Yes. those are snow monsters last year. This year, more snow fell so it is bigger.
hello! how much did you rent your snowboarding equipments rental for (from Kasukawa Rental)?
This is their pricing list. zao-skirental.jp/index.html#price You can also reserve online. zao-skirental.jp/contact.html Please subscribe!
@ thankyou so much!! I already subscribed since yesterday! 😆😆😆 thanks!!!
Did you rent those ice cleats for your shoes at Happoike Sanso?
We have our own 12 point crampon. There’s no available to rent on sanso. But you can rent at Mont bell shops. But you need to reserve them a few days earlier.
@@genobear Thank you. Are you required to have a beacon and avalanche air pack?
@@YuriLemana Depends on the weather and most people bring them. Better to be safe.
Nice experience. Can you share your local japanese tour?
We visited JTB and they arranged our tours there. Hotel also provide tours as well. please subscribe!
Thank you for this video, the hotel looks really nice. You had my favorite style of rooms in Japan: japanese with tatami mats and futon (I sleep so well on a futon), but with normal chairs (and not only japanese chairs). I cannot sit on japanese chairs for more than 5 minutes, then my knees start to hurt, and my back, and its hard to get up. So this combination is perfect. The bath looks so nice, and its always amazing for me to see, that there are so many amenities for free to use.
Thanks! Wanted to highlight this hotel as we also enjoyed it. More hotel reviews to come. Stay tuned!
What is the yearly attendance for Comiket? I assume it is always at full capacity. I've been reading that payment processors like Visa and Mastercard are refusing retailers selling adult oriented doujin their service preventing customers from buying those products and some shops have had to close. This must have an impact on Japan's pop culture.
The western capitalist "ethics" furthers its expansion. I expect within a couple of decades Japanese cultural standards, as far commercial concerns go, will be assimilated into the west. It's another example of private business interests distorting society.
this time about 260000 people attended it.
so we have to buy ticket from tokyo to kariuzawa thru machine ticket ? eventhougt we have tokyo wide pass already ?
ah no. you don’t need to buy extra ticket. tokyo wide pass is enough. actually tokyo wide pass is already the ticket. I would suggest to reserve your seats in shinkansen using the tokyo wide pass in advance.
are u used tokyo wide pass ?
yes. we used tokyo wide pass for karuizawa. please subscribe!
Was the video shot in December 2024?
This was shot on mid February 2024. please subscribe!
Hello, nice video. Does JR wide pass covers going to Kamakura station?
No, it’s not covered. You should get Nagano-Niigata pass. please subscribe!
Did you buy chair lift tickets for skiing?
We did not buy as we were learning how to ski. We manually climbed. If you are still learning, maybe no need to buy.
please subscribe!
Its so cute that the name is cappiness
thanks that you enjoyed capiness. please subscribe!
I love it
Thank you for a memory trip. Several decades ago, I was one of a number of international academics ( Oxford University ) invited to participate in a lecture series, on Comparative Medieval History, hosted by the University Faculty of History. It was an absolutely splendid event, the students very attentive, the interpreters highly skilled and competent , and I was looked after with a level of kindness and regard which, I think has never been matched since !!! Very nicely filmed and such a wonderful time of the year - well done indeed :)
I'm glad you enjoyed the video! It's nice to hear about your experience at Tokyo University. Please subscribe!
Do you need to prebook the bus ride from Mt Fuji back to Shinjuku?
Reservation not needed. but it’s better to reserve due to number of people going back. please subscribe!
Really interesting and well written video. 100% enjoyable . Thanks.
thank you that you enjoyed the video ! please subscribe!
It is so peaceful and relaxing in the first part of the video. Thank you for that. I love dogs, and loyalty like shown by Hachiko is beautiful in my opinion.
I’m glad you enjoyed the video!
Wow Nami
can you tell me which date did you go?

would you say this resort was for beginners or a mix of beginner and advanced runs?
yes it’s a mix of beginner and advanced runs. please subscribe!
hello what date it was?

hello, how much was your lunch reservation in the igloo?
It costs around 6000 yen per person. Please subscribe!
The winderland of Zao Onsen looks so beautiful. I am from Switzerland, but I neither ski nor snowboard, so I guess I am not a typical Swiss. I still enjoyed your video a lot. I love snowy landscapes and hot baths, and I had an amazing in Harbin, on the ice festival (in Heilijionjiang, several years ago). Maybe you can enjoy something like that here ?
Thanks that you enjoyed my video. Hopefully we have a chance to visit the place you recommended.
Such a creative and relaxing concept! 🐾☕ The perfect mix of capybaras and happiness - this cafe in Shinjuku is a must-visit! 🥰🍵

I have no experience in winter hiking, what is normally needed? After watching your video I might reconsider as I think my fitness level is not suitable 😢
Don’t underestimate winter hiking. Better be equipped with winter hiking gear. (inner warm clothes, middle wear insulation, and outer shell). then 3 layered for pants. with winter boots and wool socks. crampons. you also need to have good fitness level to enter kamikochi. please subscribe!
Hi there what week did you get these photos? We are trying to plan our visit last week of April
we went there around 3rd week of April. around April 21. please subscribe!
is it possible to pitch a tent there?
I would not recommend pitching a tent here especially during winter time.
Absolutely amazing winter hike my friend! Scenery is just gorgeous!
thank you for your comment!
Hi! Did you have to book the boat cruise tickets in advance or just buy on the spot ?
