I spent many years doing that in the Navy as A boiler tech with the NEC for boiler repair. the worst is in the mud drum, That dam gun could kick your butt. Memoirs from the past.
Hi, boss, I'd like to share the Tube to tube sheet Automatic orbital welding machine with you, please check the video: ua-cam.com/video/diIzqK4Vjdc/v-deo.html , and the Automatic tube assembling system for boilers or heat exchangers, refer to video: ua-cam.com/video/h2WzmZapX7o/v-deo.html
@@jeffreyrhammond Ah thanks, I'm looking to do something with 3/4" and 1/2" diamerer copper tube, not had alot of luck using regular drift, thought this might be the go.
David Drorbaugh these were new tubes being installed. So the mud drum had the same procedure don, and then when we were done we vacuumed out the shavings and hydro tested the boiler
Looks like a pretty cheesy installation compared to the way the old tubes are neatly and consistently installed with a square shoulder. It looks to me like flaring the tubes like that would tend to want to spread the holes in the sheet and distort it.If those are the only new tubes being installed I assume that's the portion of the boiler that gets hottest and most corrosive gases. How does the tension and expansion rates of those new tubes compare to the old tubes?
that sheet is more than an inch thick. deformation is minimal. tube sheet hole deformation is mostly from cleaning and prepping after old tubes are removed and is accounted for when selecting roll gear and mandrel combinations
In a 4inch scale traction engine how do you do the firebox end being so small area to work in
Hay gue darle fragua a los tubos ante mandrilarlos
Sir please send your contact number

Rolled and belled, 2 inch

a calculation error in the spans of the tubes or the boiler balloon itself dropped a little causing the upper balloon to become uneven
👏👏👏👏 great job
Hi
Nice and informative
Como se llama el equipo. Es funcional para los Haces de Tubos de Intercambiadores de calor y Calderas
Oh some of the comments on this are great. So many people don't have a clue 😂😂😂😂

Why do you do this ?
To expand the edge of the pipe, this prevents gas leaks

Hello friend. Whats is country ??? I worked 10 years doing this type of service here in Brazil
This was in Calgary, Alberta, Canada
Heya Jeff, where do to get the taper and tapered bearing race from? Is it an off the shelf tool somewhere and are there multiple sizes? Cheers!
We rented it from a company here locally.

How can you get one of these out if it’s snapped off in the tube sheet?
I’m a little late here but you cut it out with a air arch and weld a plug into the drum, not something you really want to do with a new tube
I have 9 years' experience with boring tubular bundles
Can you help me with my case?
@@antonkocherga5073 yes i can friend

Not sure what the brand was. This was in the steam drum of a boiler. We rented the roller

Can you roll tubes slower than that?
just ask, anything can be done
The air tool only had one speed. But if you stopped for a bit it could take longer
@@jeffreyrhammond What is this tool called?
This video should be titled "world's slowest drum rat"
Any worries about shavings getting into the tubes or do you do a pass on the mud drum after repairs to make sure all the crap is out?

@Martin Turner and most likely seal welded for a heat sink
That's either a steam or mud drum tubes are just rolled no seal weld needed.

That’s a steam drum the mud drum would be overhead and it’s all of a couple of inches thick
is this prior to tube removal or is this the tube insertion and sealing process !! I'm confused a bit because, part of the tube has come out !!
Warnaka Dias Pannilaratne this is sealing of the newly installed tubes
Thanks alot !!
