Delirium - The Condensed Experience

This is an edited version of my Masters thesis production Delirium. The original version was streamed as part of the 2021 Third Mask Festival at Columbia College Chicago. The intent behind this project was to create a piece that functioned as both a live piece of theatre, a live streamed recording, and included technological tools from VFX to Augemented Reality.

TITLE is a shadow puppet piece developed after a workshop with Tom Lee of Looking Glass Theatre and Warhorse fame. Part of the finals projects for the program at Arthaus Berlin. We were instructed in movements that make up Jacque Lecoq's 20 movements and were instructed to put them in sequence and create a few of our own. This is how I chose to tackle the assignment.

Devising Presentation - Party Animals

Our latest devising presentation. We've been working with animal mannerisms and this is roughly a dosage of 50/50 human and chicken, followed up with a transformation into 50/50 cat. Special thanks to Liz, Kimmy, Shai and Marie, for some great devising time.

We recorded this alongside a short called Assassins: Iron Winter, which thanks to a lot of talented people donating their skills and/or accepting lower rates was, the final shoot looks way more impressive than it did on paper.

I expected the swords to be smaller...
In Portugal that is a florete.
While not sticking strictly historical, the choreography was based around techniques for the lighter-weight, thrust-centric swords of the 18th century. These types of swords are "descended' from rapiers, but only weigh in around 1.5 lbs.

Very cool! Yeah a lot of the facilitators for our training at arthaus are either OG Lispa or Lispa alums. I'm sure the training has changed a bit, apparently no two years are the same, but I got a lot out of it.
