After looking at Jackson Pollock and Abstract Expressionism, we playfully create and observe abstract art using analogous colors (neighbor colors on the color wheel). While observing, the question lingers…is this representational or nonrepresentational…what do you see?

Two of my fourth grade art students (Marylyle and Weston), recorded this video during one of my art class mini-studio lessons. This is a choice studio project option. To remove weaving from the plate, simply cut two neighboring warp threads at a time and tie together twice, then cut two more warp threads and tie twice continuing until your circle weave is removed.

Elementary art students made 3d cupcakes for Ginger. Ginger dressed up as the “The Pink Cupcake Princess” to celebrate. Ginger says thank you for the cupcakes and she enjoys seeing all of your creative work done in art class. Love from Ginger!

Paper weaving using photos, adds or pictures.

Ginger is our art mascot who believes with all her heart she is an artist. She paints with her tail and signs her artwork with her one-and-only paw print. Artist Ginger Pup, gets into all sorts of mischief with Pepper, (her little sister who cannot understand Ginger’s artistic style). Pepper likes to poke fun at Ginger, but when sweets are involved, they are the best of friends.
