Your choice of college will influence your Oxbridge experience, for the simple reason that access to the college library, bar, resource and dining hall are only for college members. To say that we all end up loving whichever college we are sent to is just a consolatory gesture. People don’t usually know that the beautiful facilities are off limits to non members, even though we are all card carrying members of Oxbridge. Then again, no one outside of Oxbridge cares which college one matriculates into. The question usually begins with “which uni?” and ends with “Oxford/Cambridge”. Only an Oxonian/Cantab will probe further with “which college?”

I don’t agree with this much, Singapore provides several different pathways for people to choose what they want to do after Secondary School, sure you have to work hard for it and you may not like the subjects, but in the end in mainstream for Secondary 3 and 4 we can choose our own subject combination, and there are a few exceptions to the subjects depending on what junior college/polytechnic that you go into. And those polytechnics especially provide opportunities for students to do what they want
