Thanks for the video. Do you know if the oil pressure switch was faulty by grounding it out to the chassis? Did you replace the oil sending unit and if so did that fix your issue?
@@dblackkw mine was not faulty. My issues were more fuel/air ratio and idle screw. But, yes, grounding out the pressure switch will make the generator think the switch is working if the switch is faulty

@@elias4392 oh, well I'm glad it was helpful!
WHY would you want a brighter Les Paul tone??
@@Tonetwisters well, I assume we have differing ideas of what a Les Paul sounds like. My perfect Les Paul tone can be found in a live video of Greg Koch playing "Way Back Home" in Milwaukee from maybe 2017. It's super bright and cutting and not bass heavy and woofy. Thicker than a tele, but not muddy in the slightest. ua-cam.com/video/Z0V5tiGzABw/v-deo.htmlsi=qi_G5RNxZcPJZb0E
Essentially what you did was turn your humbuckers into noiseless single coils. They're still reading the same resistance as they were, and they still cancel the hum, but one coil is acting as a "dummy" coil. Also, lowering the pickup would not brighten the tone, as it would actually do the opposite lol
@@void870 lowering the pickup lessens the bass and mid frequencies thus giving it a thinner/brighter tone. But, I do indeed love the current setup and sounds I'm getting!
It sounds more enjoyable with the switch in the both mics positions in the middle. That's where the out of phase set up is, right? cheers!!
I love that crisp sounds👍👍👍may i know what string gauges you installed?
@@dagoldigol thanks so much. I'm sorry to say that I don't remember which strings were on at this point. I feel pretty certain they were the Martin Retro Monel 12s, but this could be before I started using those.
Do you have a part number?

@@SteveWoodyMusic Thank you!!
Thought: to get a brighter tone, see if you can find some lightly wound HB’s with ceramic magnets. Lower impedance gives you a brighter tone as do ceramic magnets. Sounds great! Love it!
@@1rgam3r good idea, thanks!
@@SteveWoodyMusic I’ve been doing a LOT of catch up learning the last 6 months and have a ways to go. I think learning about phase and series next. Oh, what was that opening riff from?? I should know it but it’s eluding me. (I was born in the mid 60’s). Great style and sound. Subbed!

This model pressure washer only dispenses soap when on low mode. To engage low mode, pull the trigger twice in quick success while not allowing much water to come out. This is a feature to prevent wasting soap by using high water volume
@@oginsights5340 interesting. SunJoe/Snow Joe decided it was defective and ended up refunding my money after following their testing procedures on 2 messed up models
Milwaukee makes great tools but the one thing they don't do is make great bits. The leverage their great name and utilize the name to make people think their bits are good. I do like their boxes and I do use their boxes the way you're using them. But not with their bits lol.
@@chriscotton4207 yeah, I can see that. It really sucked when my 3/8" adapter broke in my bit holder. There was no way to retrieve the broken end out of the bit holder, so I lost both the adapter and the bit holder at the same time!!
I know Milwaukee makes great power tools but what’s the best bits to use ?
@@Superman-uh3cl you're not going to believe it until you look up the tests. But Bosch. 😂. DeWalt is decent. Makita next then Milwaukee.. I've been though so many bits as a heavy civil carpenter on teams that LOVE screws. Lol

@@gene-de5rm wow, thank you so much for your kind words! I hope you get many more years out of your Roland!!
TY
You're welcome! Also, if you're changing out the voltage regulator, you'll want to go ahead and clean the slip rings. I just made a video about doing that yesterday morning. Super easy!
I watched your video some time ago, and I've just got around to doing it. I removed the pole pieces from the neck pickup on my '97 Standard, plugged in and played. After 47 years of playing Les Pauls I've finally got the sound available that I've craved. And the best thing is, the modification came at the right price.
@@Rich6Brew so great to hear this!!!!! I'd love to hear some clips. What type of music do you play?

@@selwyn13 unfortunately, no I do not. This was already in place at the weld shop where I was working. Although, I do know that they make plastic versions of this, as we had a couple of those later on as well.
@@selwyn13 oh, here's a link to the plastic version we used www.castleweldshop.net/Alignolet_p_111.html
Currently agonizing over which to buy next lol
What do you currently have, and what type of music do you play?
@@SteveWoodyMusic I gotta Les Paul a 335 and a tele and a Taylor. Right now playing a lot of pop solo music singing + chords.
Also a solution. In fact you get a single coil with lower output than a P90, but still with humbucking effect. If I did this, then only on the neck pickup, as I love an authentic bridge PAF sound. Certainly nice for clean tones, but hardly will improve the overdrive sounds in my opinion. For the neck pickup certainly a good solution, as this one has a tendency to sound too bassy and too muddy, especially, but not only in a Les Paul. Cool, simple idea and if you dislike the tone, you simply can reinstall the screws again. Having turned around the neck pickup is a good idea too, so the still active coil is closer to the neck. But even this is a matter of taste. Another way to get similar sounds is, to screw down the neck pickup, but raise the screws a lot. Also alters the magnetic field and you also get a more single-coilish sound, but the difference is not so extreme, but you keep the authentic output level, while it also lowers with your solution. Ritchie Blackmore did this, when he still played an ES-335 with PAF's. My personal favorite Les Paul optinization is, to change neck tone to neck bass-cut and bridge tone to master tone. Allows precise, adjustable neck pickup bass control - if using the right capacitor values without altering any mids and treble - and this also allows to get some very differently sounding combined pickups sounds. The advantage for me is, that the pickups keep their (hotter) output level, while your solution reduces it, as I anyway hardly ever play clean.
Oh those are some great ideas! Thanks for that. I'll have to give those a try especially if I ever get around to doing a comparison video!
Trying to get the Peter Green sound ...... One thing these guys do not realise is the fact the sound they are hearing from a recording is not the original sound . The signal has past through multiple electronic devices , that all influence the sound , influence what comes out at the end . Wanting to reproduce the sound not only the guitar has to be tinkered with , what was done to Green's guitar is by no means clear imo , also the whole chain of apparatus the sound went through and it's settings , including putting it on tape or vinyl , that has all to be re-created . A rabbit hole of variables to get lost in . One factor can never be recreated : what the fingers do , left and right hand .
Well, in my case, I'm not a Peter Green fan at all. I've never listed to his music, I don't have any real reference for "The Peter Green sound ", but I've read tons about his guitar and the process to do this mod and it sounded interesting. So, no, we aren't all chasing some sound we heard trying to copy some guy and his tone.
I really like your staccato finger picking style. 👍🏻 I’ve never tried removing pole pieces. Quite interesting. 🤔
Thanks so much! You should give it a shot and let me know what you think about it!
I have ZT410 Direct/Thermal printer and my test print does not have IP address and the printer screen does not have a home button to look for IP. Please help.. i cannot connect my printer to my computer. I am using RS232 to connect.
I had the exact same problem. Neither container would work regardless of the "Detergent selection dial" setting, or even if I bypassed the dial entirely. However, I was pressure washing with the 15 degree yellow nozzle when I first tried to include some detergent. When I switched to the "Soap" black nozzle, detergent started flowing. The difference in the water pressure or volume appears to affect detergent siphoning.
Yeah, we ended up getting a replacement (which was broken) and eventually a full refund from SnowJoe
great guitar and playing Steve! whats the wood used on this odyssey? i would like to get the same one as this!
Thanks so much! This one was Italian Spruce on the top, Brazilian Rosewood on the back/side, and I believe a smoked ebony for the fingerboard
#costco please fix!!!
Heck yeah! Nice. Bring that thing on down to Tennessee!
Will do!!!!
What you did here wasn't a Peter Green mod. For the Green affect you want to rotate the magnet 180 degrees, not flip it over like you did here. Before you say I'm wrong, just Google it. Tons of very clear material from reputable sources. I'm also speaking from experience. Have done this mod dozens of times over decades and initially flippedtue magnet like you. Rotating is a totally different effect. It actually sounds like Green.
Thanks for letting me know that. Can you explain how it is different?
Omg thank youuuuu!!!!!!!
I cant get past 207 on the last octet. It keeps all my changes except for that.

@SteveWoodyMusic thanks. Yep, he was the best. Shame that you never met him (I don't think). He was a very good self-taught bluegrass player. He bought me the first 3-4 guitars I ever owned.
Scott Grove has every video on pickups literally ..lowering the pickup for more sustain where it's located on a guitar etc....
Oh, cool, thanks for that!
Any solution?
Returned it and got a full refund from SnowJoe
But don't take the cover off. If you do the cover off, there will be nothing left to create the inductance.
Just for that one coil?
The cover was already off when I removed the pole pieces. It worked fine.
Interesting concept, but really hard for me to hear any improvement because you didn't show what it sounded like with the screws in 1st.
Yeah, it hadn't crossed my mind when I made this video to do a before/after. Maybe I'll do that someday
Probably sounds like every other les paul that has the screws still in it...
