How I Make My Puppets
Переглядів 4,5 тис.4 роки тому
In this video you will see how I'm making three marionettes - inspired by three actors / movie characters. The puppet making process is long and demanding, although in the video it seems like I have done it very quickly :). The video is about 7 minutes long and I really, very much appreciate every single viewing and watching the video till the end. Thank you! To see more of my work you can visi...

Puppet Portrait of Whoopi Goldberg
Переглядів 1,8 тис.9 років тому
This marionette represents the TV character 'Sister Mary Clarence' (Whoopi Goldberg) from the Sister Act movie (1992). In this video I am forming her head, trying to capture her typical smile, painting and coloring her face to make the puppet look like real Whoopi. There are some photos of the finished puppet at the end of this video as well as in my gallery. To see more of my work you can visi...
Puppet Portrait of Charlie Sheen
Переглядів 1,6 тис.9 років тому
This is a puppet portrait of the famous actor Charlie Sheen, or, better said, Charlie Harper - a TV character from Two and a Half Men sitcom, because at the end of this video you can see the finished puppet wearing the typical Charlie Harper's outfit. I replaced the material which my heads used to be made from (as you could see in Dr. House video) by the new one - it's better for working. It ha...

You could make a card with Marionette and people living together. What do you think about that?
Thanks for sharing ❤
Please keep making more videos
Oh this is sooooo beautiful 😍❤️.
This is exactly what I'm looking for. Will this be in stock in the future?
Hi, I only created a limited number of these kits in 2022 to try it and see how it will go. It turned out that making these kits at home (I don't have a workshop, I live in a small apartment) wasn't a very good idea. I spent hours fixing air bubbles, there was resin dust everywhere, and the production was very expensive, too, so even with the relatively high price for a kit it wasn't profitable at all (I only just managed to break-even.). Therefore, I rather decided to make a tutorial on how to create each piece of a marionette from scratch, using materials like wood, clay, and metal fasteners, instead of ready-made kits.
This is a wonderful story that showcases the creator’s sensitive and loving personality projected through meticulously created marionettes. It is very beautiful.
Thank you so much ☺
amazing❤
Welches Material benutzt du?
The bodies are made from wood and the heads are a combination of materials: wood (wooden core inside each head), paper maché (basic shape of head) and air-drying sculpting clay on top (facial features).
😢so etwas süßes hab ich ewig nicht mehr gesehen
Thank you, everyone, for watching my short film :). I apologize for the mid-roll ads. I don't have the option to turn them off until my channel is monetized. Ďakujem za každé jedno pozretie môjho krátkeho filmu :). Ospravedlňujem sa za reklamy uprostred videa. Nemám možnosť ich vypnúť, kým môj kanál nie je monetizovaný.
What a beautiful film! Thank you for sharing...
Krasny filmik, dojemny, marionetky a rekvizitky boli dokonale
Ďakujem krásne :)
This was beautiful 🥲 Great job! May I use this in my classroom? My students and I are working on puppet films. I would like to show them this for inspiration
Thank you :) Yes, of course you can show it to your students, I am glad you like it... Making this film was a beautiful process, even though it wasn't easy to film puppets :)
Congratulations Barbora! This is such a sweet story! I love it!
Thank you so much!
Que material usas
Hi, to make a head, I first create a wooden core (which is inside the head) and then I use shredded paper mixed with water, water-based glue and starch powder to form a basic skull / basic shape of a head. The shredded paper is cheap and light, and when squeezed well, it can be very solid and firm. That’s why I use it to form a base. Once this base is completely dry and rock-hard, I sculpt the face features using an air-drying sculpting clay.
So cute…🤩😍❤️
Hello, how big/tall was this marionette? I wished you still made the personal faces. I have 4 grandchildren that would LOVE them. I live in United States, Texas. Since you are ni longer doing the personlized faces, do you know of any Marinette Builders that would personlized a face here? Thankyou. Love your work.
The marionette from this DIY kit is approx. 31cm tall (12 inches). Even though I no longer make these kits, I have tutorials (one on Etsy as a digital book, and another one on Skillshare) on how to create a marionette of the same size (from wood and clay). When it comes to personalized marionettes, I don't make them anymore (maybe I will again in the future), but I am sure there are other puppet makers who make personalized marionettes, too. I don't know any of these puppet makers in person, but I've seen some of them advertising custom marionettes, or marionettes based on photos, e.g. on Etsy.
Thank you so much for getting back to me. Blessing to you.
I utterly adore your work!!!
so cute !
Až budu příště něco dělat, chtěla bych si koupit dívčí loutku.
😂😂😂😂😂❤ Very Nice
What is the material you use first on the wooden spoon for the heads?
It's wet shredded paper mixed with water-based white glue and starch powder (soluble in cold water).
Simply perfect. The video is awesome. I can't wait to make a puppet. Thanks for the besta explanation.
Hola soy peruano ,me gustan las marionetas ,fabricacion sobre todo personajes Andinos,Vuestra manera como trabaja es muy bonito, felicitaciones.
Úžasné ... ❤️
I'm really impressed with your creations. I also like dolls like this
Love this!❤
I hope you make more. I would love to buy one.
Both Marionettes are cute wonder if I can purchase them?
The marionettes from this video have already been sold, but now I offer another one on Etsy, here's the link: www.etsy.com/listing/1780668836/pako-handmade-marionette-puppet?click_key=04688d25546d249b5ccc57fdd99792ded73d89d8%3A1780668836&click_sum=0b5ed428&ref=shop_home_recs_2&frs=1. I am currently mainly focusing on our puppet theater, so I seldom make marionettes for sale, but when I have time to create some, I sell them on my Etsy shop.
Perfect what is the material you make your puppet is it papier mache
The bodies are made from wood and the heads are a combination of materials: wood (wooden core inside each head), paper maché (basic shape of head) and air-drying sculpting clay on top (facial features).
The construction process was just mesmerizing and the finished puppets were so charming!
What sculpting material are you using?
Hi, first, I use shredded paper mixed with water, water-based glue and starch powder to form a basic skull / basic shape of a head (but there is a wooden core inside each head). The shredded paper is cheap and light, and when squeezed well, it can be very solid and firm. That’s why I use it to form a base. Once this base is completely dry and rock-hard, I sculpt the face features using an air-drying sculpting clay. I used to use Holzmaché, but it is no longer available, so I started using La Doll.
🖐️👍💞
Hello ! Do you make your puppets with a 3D printer?😊
I haven't tried to use a 3d printer yet. I think the production would be way too expensive (as well as resin casting), which would make the price of these kits astronomical (plus shipping). That's why I rather decided to make a tutorial on how to create a marionette from scratch, using wood and clay.
Stunning, and such detail!
Is the whole marionette made from clay? If so what type of clay? Air dry or they type you need to bake?
The body is made of wood and to make a head I use a combination of materials: first, I create a wooden core (which is inside the head) and then I use shredded paper mixed with water, water-based glue and starch powder to form a basic skull / basic shape of a head. Once this base is completely dry and rock-hard, I sculpt the face features using an air-drying sculpting clay.
Hello. Is it possible to order marionnettes ?
Hi, the marionettes from this video have already been sold, each of them was one of a kind, so I don't have more of them. But when I create new marionettes, I offer them on Etsy (I don't create them often, because we have a puppet theater and many performances, so there's less time now).
Me encantó y hace mucho quiero hacer una marioneta.bendiciones y sigue adelante Dios te dotó de una abilidad hermosa 🎉
Such care taken in crafting these beauties!
Takes a beautiful woman to do this. I met this artiste years ago in Nitra Slovakia 🇸🇰
Que materiales usas para hacer la muñeca??? ❤
I usually use wood, clay, and metal fasteners. But these kits were made from polyurethane resin.
Congratulations!! What did you apply on a paper mache base and smoothened it?
After the basic skull is created, I let it dry completely. Then, I use a fine air-dry clay to sculpt the facial features.
Respect!
Superb
Adorable - thank you for sharing - where can I buy your puppets?
I am currently mainly focusing on our puppet theatre, so I seldom make marionettes, but when I have time to create some, I sell them on my Etsy shop: www.etsy.com/shop/Mariones?ref=shop-header-name&listing_id=1781759285&from_page=listing.
Where would some one find the parts I want to make most of them but some of my not sure of
I don't make these kits anymore, but I have tutorials on how to create a marionette from wood and clay.
Love this really did like the work I hope to learn more hope to see you again in more videos
Where can I buy these marionettes?
I don't make these kits anymore, but I offer tutorials on how to create a marionette from wood and clay. Currently, I am mostly focused on our puppet theater and puppet performances, but when there's time, I also create marionettes (made up characters) which I sell on Etsy.
