The tab/button attached to the grill popped off on my van. Do I need to take the whole unit out to clip it back in? Comes in 2 parts the front tab clips on the vertical grill and the other part clips on the back side of the vertical and horizontal grill if that makes sense.
@@2canadventure669 No worries I managed to fix it. Didn’t have to take the whole unit out I managed to remove the grill trim with a flathead driver then you can pop out the swivel grill then clip them back in.👍
I was planning to paint my air vent covers matt black, and was just wondering how to loosen them. This video came in a perfect moment preparing me for that job. On my Fiat Ducato it was same arrangement of screws and snap-on fasteners. Only additional step was to remove the plastic cup thing that was blocking access to the screw on the driver side (my european car have driver on the left hand side). Maybe others have same issue mirrored on right hand side. Anyhow, the other side on my car was exactly as described here, screw underneath and snap-on tap on the upper side. A hint: loosen the screw first, then the snap-on tap will very easily jump loose. And those two in the middle can be pulled straight off by applying some force.
Hi, The kitchen unit and bed I purchased from camel camper interiors Derby, timber, ply, insulation was all B&Q, electrics was Sargent kit, everything else from Ebay or amazon 😀
Great top tip thank you. I’ve got a Motorhome and the air vents are silver and they reflect directly onto the windscreen when it’s bright, so there’s always a constant reflection, which is really annoying. I’m going to remove them and spray them matt black. Thanks again.
I'm just about to start my own Vito Camper conversion after purchasing one. I can't wait - and you guys gave me so much inspiration! If it's not too much to ask, is it possible to ask how much the conversion cost all up and how long it all took?
Hi, our conversion cost approximately £3800 including the replacement front seats and swivel plates. Shop around for everything and we managed to get some good black Friday deals! It took me approximately 7 months of weekends and some evenings. Well worth the effort! Good luck 👍😁
@@2canadventure669 Thanks so much for that! I've set my budget for about $8000AUD so I think that's a similar amount but I have about 6 weeks off mid-December to the end of January and I'm hoping to get it all done in that time. Awesome work on your conversion!
Thanks, glad you like the conversion. I purchased the cabinets from Camel Campers near Nottingham, i just had to scribe and cut the backs to fit the contour of the van👍😁

Thanks Daren, the Vito was great, if we only intended to use it for weekends or shorter trips we would have kept it. We found for longer trips it started becoming a little cramped. Good luck with your van! 👍

The silver is easy to remove, it is glued with tape . Don’t worry, painting not necessary
