Today we take the White out of hibernation. What was meant to be a quick job, turned into a multi-week saga. Thanks for watching!
Nice Video! Would like to see some Performance Mods for these Old Singles. I see this 335 has an Electric Start option. Those Starters are hard to come by these days. So a Starter upgrade option would be nice. Maybe using a Cheap New Seadoo Starter.
I picked up a 2002 Foreman 450 S last weekend for free from a neighbor. They did not want to spend the money to fix it. I am $200 in for parts (mostly the new battery) and it purrs like a kitten and runs like a scalded dog. I lied to myself by saying I would fix it and flip it, but we all know it is staying right here.
Awesome!!!
Is that chain case from the Oly? Single chain or double?
Double chain from the Oly!
Great videos man. Gotta love those old skidoos

why wouldn't you take the carb apart before cleaning it? Mkes zero sense to me, a 50 year mechanic on SkiDoo in SkiDoo shop
tHE BEST DEEP SNOW SLED I EVER OWNED
What are u running for plugs in your twin
Man this deserves a million views
Great video!!
Dude, you’re awesome. Thanks for the video!
This year me and a friend picked up a elan 250 not sure the year and it runs great, but we have a mikuni on it and no choke or primer so it's a 400 pull machine, the spray bottle does wonders lol
Hey man, I have some struggles with my 12 elan single because it will run great on a aux gas tank but if I try and run it on the original tank it wont pull the gas I replaced the pick up line and it didn't work. Any suggestions.
I would make sure your new line isn't floating on top of the gas in the tank (ive seen that more than once). If it is submerged, I'd check for blockages in your line and in the tank inlets! Best of luck! Keep tinkering
I just bought a 02 that was sitting in his garage for 20+ years not being rode and it only has 1123 miles only lol.
Is there a replacement carb for 73 skidoo Olympic 300???
😻 P r o m o s m
What kind of camera is your Rode box talking to? Thanks
Hero 7
You've got a really great on-camera presence!
Nice video!
I was going to ask on the tractor video you sounded so clear with the camera clearly magneted to the hood of the Farmall yet you had such clear naration!
Nice job! It is amazing what we can do nowadays.
Bringing back memories,the 335 was a fun motor,thanks
I bought mine from a guy in a trailer park. I can tell by a broken foot peg and a slightly bent handlebar that he probably laid it down, and his wife said it's got to go! 😅 You mean you're supposed to actually maintain these things?. Mine does 26 miles an hour, the guy did tell me he did something with the governor spring. You are right they will go anywhere, I think I actually want to gear mine down to give it a little more torque and less top end for the boondocking I enjoy.
*"The kid rides it around three times and decides he'd rather play computer games "* That pretty much sums up the kids of today! 🤣
You shouldn’t screw the dipstick in to check the level. Hust dip it. Overfilling causes leaks.
Well there's more than one way to get it done, you could have Squatch253'd it and done a complete job- In the end they had over eight grand in a Super M and that was with what they called a "working tractor" paint job. Doing all the labor themselves. In your case, you made one out of two and have a really good working rig that will be around another 65 years. Yes condensation in those rear ends I think kills a lot of bearings and gears.
Hey man, I’ve got a 73 Elan 250T. Runs great once you get going but whenever you stop it will usually lose prime. Fuel line is as follows in tank filter>screw in 90 degree elbow>in line filter by the rear engine mount>red high flo fuel strainer on carb>carb>return. Im wondering if you got anything I could try to cure this. I may swap on a vm34 of a citation but I would like to save that for a Chaparral one lunger racer I’m building.
Sounds like you may have a possible air leak. The biggest thing is to make sure that when you're running that your primary fuel line is bubble free while you ride! If you got a steady stream of bubbles, you have a definite airleak somewhere that needs to be fixed asap!!!! If the fuel line is bubble free, you can try putting a filter with a check valve on your pickup to keep it from siphoning out of the carb. Or put a primar bulb on your main line so you can easily prime on the go. That's just my two cents, Good luck and keep tinkering!
The old stuff was meant to be worked on by the fella running it, not a "technician" at the dealership. Nice to see ya gotter goin.
Heck ya! Thank you for watching!
Haha. The camera frames were in perfect sync to the rear wheels. Looked like you had it on a trailer. Good job mate.
👍
good vid keep makin vids they are actually good
Shitty deal.
Good times lol
At least you have a nice, smooth concrete floor to work on. I had to do a Ford in the woodshed and an International in the barn.
Great content.
They will swap. It's been done hundreds of times. Take two and make one good one👍
Put a LS in it
I can tell that you have taken lessons from vice grip garage on verbiage… Lol… but it is not a carburetor… It is a fuel make it happener!
Great job on those shots at the beginning.
Where do you live?
Minnesota
Even in Buffalo nY we are snowless. Crummy winter for sleds. Lets play with tractos
Thankfully there's enough snow for the 250T where I live in manitoba to go out on the river. put 23~ miles on last weekend.
Splitting tractors to do a clutch aint a whole lot of fun. Probably a good idea to get that milkshake outta there.
Here's a tip from my freind Ron Thomsen (purveyor of vintage Ski Doo parts) You can use '71-'72 spindles in the older black stripe sleds and they will give you the advantage of ski stops so your skis don't flop so much when you run spreaders. :)
I owned a '72 Nordic 440 I bought new and there was a recall on the ski brackets. I found out about the recall when I went to fix the ski after it fell off while under warranty. I thought it was my fault when the bracket broke.
Where do you get your drive sprokets and seals from for those elans
Ebay or Dennis Kirk.
Google Goose (Ron Thomsen) he has them manufactured, the seals are pretty standard stuff from any bearing house, the shaft bearings (as well as bogie shaft bearings) are all a 6205 available from Amazon and others.
Hey guys did the I 500 with only 1 ski😂
Well, 50 feet is better than 0 feet I guess! 😄
Your awesome man.love watching your videos
Glad you like them!
I had the same sled in the 80's those machine are built like tank it deserve a restoration
I had Foreman used everyday but was never neglected on maintenance never once did it give me any trouble wasnt babied at all amazing machine
I must have a horse shoe up my azz, I haven't had to take a Tilly apart in years. Use non ethanol fuel, change my filters regularly. They sit for months and I use a squirt to prime them but once in a while one won't take off- I have a short line with a primer ball and I will force feed the carb and you can feel that sticky needle break free. I have nine tilly equipped machines at last count. '72 Oly is my fav looking of that generation of 'em. That hoods in great shape. You know they are yellow all the way through and you can wet sand and buff that thing back to nearly original shine. But like me you are more of a beat it around the woods kinda guy. This is the first year I won't get to ride, flu cancelled my trip up to ERX and now there ain't nothin' but mud!
