Granada disk brakes and suspension rebuild on my 1965 Mustang
I battled though converting the Mustang to Granada disk brakes but the 6 cyl steering linkage threw several challenges. Also installed the passenger glass, drove it to work and survived tires nearly coming apart.

Dual exhaust install on 1979 Mustang, early Fox bodies are a bit unique
Переглядів 1,7 тис.5 місяців тому
Here’s what I went through to install dual exhaust on my 1979 Mustang Pacecar. I didn’t find a lot of info on what was exactly different on early fox body Mustangs vs later ones that came from the factory with dual exhaust so I did my best to record what I went though converting mine.
Allis WD45 Fixing the shifter popping out and getting stuck in reverse

I decided to dig into fixing the problem of the shifter popping out and getting stuck in reverse. A little welding in the shift fork fixed the issue.
Is this an Allis WD or a WD45? Help me figure it out.

A quick follow up video on the Allis. After checking the engine and rear serial numbers, I’m thinking this is a WD45. What do you think?

Should I fix this rusted out 1966 Mustang Fastback?

Here’s a quick video on my latest buy. It’s kind of a pile of junk but maybe I’ll try to get it back in the road.

Yard find 1968 Cougar XR7. Back yard rescue

A bit on the Cougar I just dug out. It is a one-owner 1968 XR7 that has been sitting for 20 years. 302 automatic. Unfortunately, after I got it out I could clearly see how rusty it is. I don't think this one will be getting back on the road.

Your work is A one. Your patience is awesome. I think daisy as shop foreman, should have a paw print on the product. Somewhere as her approval.
😂
I would much rather have put on the 10 hole phone dial wheels
The hood scoop appears to be the 79 Indy Mustang edition.
Don’t think so. I also own a 79 Pacecar and it is different.
Nice transmission
So unique to have a six cylinder. This car needs to be rescued.
Thanks for uploading this video; definitely helps out before I tackle putting in a double hump on my 79 !
Ugly ? She’s a beaut. I want a ‘65 or 66 so bad, with a 289 HiPo. That frame/underside is in great condition, less rust than my 2016 Jeep Wrangler. Doors/Fenders/Quarter Panels can get on CJPonyParts so cheap, literally $150 for fenders and quarter panels, don’t even bother with major bodywork, can get a new part for what amounts to 2 hrs of labor. For me, A/C would be a must, one of those under dash units for $800, and there you go. I’d do disc brakes in the front, electronic ignition (again, not so expensive upgrade), I’d put in an aluminum heavy duty fan to keep her cool. I love the Pony interior too, but not a necessity. Your way ahead 1. Great frame 2. Great motor 3. Very little rust The rest is easy.
The ENTIRE floor needs to be replaced!
If it junk- Don’t waste your time! Sell it!🤪🤪🤪🤪
Nice job you could put some series 10 flow master muffler's on it even with the cats on it, it'll be louder 👍
Tell us more about that Bonneville bike!

Looks good Jeff, making progress on the Mustang
I'm sensing a deep money pit...
How is the Cougar doing? Did you get it running and have you done some work to it? Hope you can restore it, it's a classic USA car Good luck!!
I don’t remember if I said it on video or not but the car was pulling apart due to the rust. I ended up selling it before I even unloaded it off the trailer. A guy had a rust free shell and wanted all of the interior and trim parts for his car
@@jeffbailey600 Nice. Glad to hear the parts from the car went to a good cause. Thanks for the update.
If the VIN 5th letter is a J, then it's a 302. But you probably have figured that out by now. At least that holds true for a 68. Good luck!!
My mistake, sounds like it originally was a 6.
The 302 was an option in 65 ? I thought it only came later with the 67/68 ? The 64 1/2 had the 260, as they thought the Mustang could possibly be “Edsel Part 2”. I thought the 65 was either the 190 6 cyl aka “ThriftPower”, 289 or the 289 HiPo.
You would be a fool not to fix it. These cars are gems. Ill take it off your hands.
Excellent S1. The new yellow looks great.
If that's a numbers matching motor rebuild it with some heavy duty parts and turbocharge it.
Put some long tubes on it
Nice clean car Ford power forever baby a real Chevy and dodge killer l love it keep on bringing it you have a car worth some money
Look behind the starter for the engine code.
Precursor to the Taurus SHO.
Gotta drop a 289 in there.😊
The rear being "wide for the chassis" just means you need more backspace on the wheels unless you want to go to the expense of narrowing it and buying new axles.
nice mustang man
The smile on your face sliding thru the grass…. That’s living! Life is short, keep having fun! Keep us posted on the progress- kool project
Simplicity at its finest
Crazy question here, I haven't googled it yet, but can you put an 8" carrier in a 9" housing?
I can’t imagine you could. Totally different bolt pattern.
I'm no expert, but that rearend looks different. The backside looks like a nine inch with that gear hump that goes vertical, but that carrier looks different.
Always great history to these old ponies.
Replace the front suspension. Still has the 4 lug. It’s a bit of work. How’s the cowl? Yeah, that’s a 9in. Pull the carpets and make sure the floor boards are pop riveted in. The repair looks bad. Be prepared to weld them in correctly.
That’s the plan. I’ll show it in the next video. Going to do a Granada brake swap. Cowl seems solid but is full of trash. No way to clean it other than cutting it open
@@ratrod76 If it's just leaves and stuff you might be able to mash it down (slip something thin in through the top or up the weep holes) and rinse it out the weep holes on the sides (you'll want to pull the front fenders off and make sure they aren't blocked, but taking the fenders off is way easier than cutting). Worth a try. I would go with the stock Mustang disc brakes over the Granadas. "The reality is the Granada disc brake swap was popular because, once upon a time, you could go to a local salvage yard, find lots of Granadas, pull the front brakes, bolt them on an go. Cheap and easy." But that's not the case now. Just get the stock brakes.
I have a 1979 I got in 1989. Stiflers has a tubular transmission cross member for the C4. I've had mine for about 10 years now with no problems.
She's got good bones!
diamond in the ruff
Good morning nice to your children are taking part with your love of tractors I live near Sault saint marie I just bought a 1949 wf grader with no identification tag going to be looking for points and condenser part number in the near future any info would be greatly appreciated thanks
Sorry, I’m not the expert on parts. Google is your friend. I got most of the parts from A&W Tractor is Cecil Wi. They should be able to help you out.
Good stuff ! Kinda lost me ,you put the old shifter back in
i want that car....price it to me.
Probably won’t be selling this one any time soon. I’ve had it for over 30 years. You’ll have to talk to my kids someday!😂
I had to weld the end of my shifter so it would not slip between the rails. The “ball” end of my shift lever was rusted way undersized. Been 20 years and no problems.
Good job Jeff. I knew you could fix it.
There a lot of vintage Allis aficionados . Some are still working the small farms . You will flip that quickly if you decide
That's a WD-45 engine and final drive. That's probably a WD transmission, I have been told that the shift levers are Not interchangeable. You have a Snap Coupler, which was standard on the WD-45, but optional on the WD. I don't know if there is any way to find out what parts that tractor started with, but it looks llike a mixture of WD and WD-45 parts now. I'd call it a WD-45, because the motor is the most important difference.
It's a wd little manifold and carb
W D 45 has 3 inch head
Do you know if the gears in the transmission slide or if it uses the dog clutches. Sliding gear would be WD. Ive got a book that talks about later WDs did get the constant mesh transmission but they have a curve shifter, but not the other way around.
One reference I have says the constant-mesh transmission started at serial 127007 in 1952. Which is near the end of the WD range. As production ended in 1953 with serial 146606.
allis did not get the cut over on parts perfectly, the big item was the engine
It's a wd45. My uncle had the same tractor.
you need ac experts to help so many ways to change parts i have wd and wd45 will look see if other than shift lever i notice any difference i know 45 had 1/2 longer stroke good luvk
We bought used WD & it had bent gearshift I think 55 ??? thanks
have shecked wd had a steel plate bolted on oil filter side right side set ib seat wd45 did not @@donvoll2580
@@donvoll2580I have seen WD where the shift lever was literaly bent, not the factory bend.
I always thought that the frame extending beyond the radiator was wd45, the diesel model was a 6cyl. and it pushed the radiator out to the end of the frame.
1955 WD45 according to the serial number on the back of tractor in the video
