You had just closed and STOLEN that January open mic night show @pappy&harriets with your extraordinary a capella House of Rising Sun cover that didn't crescendo until the very end of your last word sung ('sun") when you fell forward and did that faceplant that shook the floor as your audience went wild with applause? They just ruin a good scene by putting them on the couch. When the scene starts she's flirting with him. Matin isn't sleeping either. Before this scene he puts his flute away. Sally is asleep. He crawls into bed. She feels him get in, wakes up. Turns on the nightstand lamp. Looks at the suitcase. And that when the scene starts. Sally stops flirting with him the moment Martin says he hates the guessing game. Sally has done this game for 12 years of their marriage. Another thing before this scene starts they had sex.

I will openly admit that this play made a Lucy fan out of me. One of the things I like doing is watching multiple play versions of the same scene (for example various versions of Pity The Child from Chess) just to see what they do differently. With this one I like you writing down CB's issue still playing the group psychologist (complete with pencil in hair) and the slower way that you do the "I was pregnant" monologue very quiet, tearful, and almost spooky instead of shouting as I have seen other versions do.
