Unboxing & Setting Up the Qidi Plus4 3D Printer - A First Look of the 'Cybertruck' of 3D Printing!
I think that our videos are failing because viewers prefer action over speech. What do you say?
My Channel @DecoDream683
I don't consider them failing, just takes time to find the right style, and, audience for it :) For me, I appreciate every view I get, I try to get better in some way with each video (if you watch my older ones, at-least I think there is a major improvement), and, the activity seems to reflect it, but, I do understand I have a lot more to grow, and, that's Okay, I'm just learning as I go :) Looking forward to your future videos! :)
$150 for the set!!! 350€ Amazon Europe
Yeah, the prices change quite a lot, I think I got this set for around 160 on Amazon when it was on sale. :)
Someone has a little to much time on there hands 😂
Just having fun 😅
is this dumb on purpose to get comments or you re just dumb?
You will become so famous remember me
I just make these videos for fun :D but if that ever happens I will come back to this comment :)
@BackyardBeardMan i wish you become famous handsome
DUH
man, that 3d printer is amazing, just shove a paper sketch in and out comes a final product, in mere seconds...truly amazing machine
Yup... Pretty much like that :D This is funny as usually when I tell someone I have a 3D printer that is more or less how they imagine it working :D
@@TheEifelis Oho! Pirmo reizi mani te kāds pēc akcenta atšifrējis:D Paldies! :)
Thats very clever. Do you use rechargeable batteries aswell?
@@jjtiger1013 Thank you! :) Yes, I use also rechargeable ones, one of the batteries in the video was actually rechargeable, this also helps to test them, to see which ones are charged :)
If you would like to buy one, I added direct Amazon links in the description!
that plot twist 😅
Glad you liked it! 😅But yeah, haven't had coffee for about 3-4 years I think 😅
Get any bits yet?
I'm currently using the Bosch 8mm router bit set for it, works quite well, have had no issues with them. Is there a video you would like to see related to this?
I used to play with that manual drill back in the days when my grandpa was fixing something around his house...man when I saw you got one it kicked back memories
@@Nemysferu nice! :) I also used to play with one when I was little, I actually never had an electric one until my 20s, always borrowes a manual one similar to the one in the video when needed a hole, just glad I did not need so many of them :D Don't know why it took me so long to get an electric one, but, at least I know how to use a manual one :D I'm considering making a video sometime in the future making something using only non electric tools, that might be fun, and, a bit painful :D still considering :)
yeah, go for it, that would be fun to watch :)
Liked and subscribed, fun video!
Thanks! :) Hope you'll like my other videos :)
Flex caught me by surprise with that screwdriver but as you said KS had overall better unboxing experience, but that torch as a final part, that was abysmal
Yes, the final day was quite a twist :) The FLEX screwdriver was really nice though :) Thank you for sticking arround, hope tou liked the series! :) Seeing your comments, looking forward to what will you say about the next day was definatly one of the main things keeping me going, Thank you! :)
glad to hear (read) that :), looking forward to new videos :)
@Nemysferu looking forward to seeing you back! :) I'm hoping to make one more video this year, after that will continue in January :)
I use a piece of paper, a pencil and a folding rule for this kind of thing! That's all I need... then it fits! 😂
Well, the if it fits, the result is achieved :D This more gives the possibility to move everything around, play with the furniture without moving the actual piece, but, if you have good ilustrative thinking, and, can see the layout in your head that also works pretty good :)
@@BackyardBeardMan If you do this on paper or on a computer programme, you use fewer resources and costs! That's my take on it. Why incur unnecessary costs when there's an easier way? 😉 Marry Christmas!
@AP-RSI can't argue with that :) In my case I like that this way I can show my kids, and, wife visual representations, they can movr everything around, show me what they think as before when I used to draw on paper they not always understood the idea, couldn't modify it :) In any case, what works for you is best :) just wanted to share how I do it, maybe someone can use this :) Thank you! :) Merry christmas to you too! :)
nothing beats a good old school paper manual :D
@@Nemysferu that's true :D Nothing against a manual, and, cable, but, why make it a seperate date? :D
What is this, a house for ants!?
They also need a space to live in :)
Great tip!
@@anjumf1 hope it serves you well! :)
Thats a really good idea, i'm struggling with organise furniture in my weird shaped flat, my wife and Kids would really love playing with this without moving everything. Thanks
Yeah, this makes everything way easyer :) Let me know how it works out :)
Cool idea, also are you using a crayon on a dry erase board? what's going on there?
Thanks! :) That is a whiteboard pencil :) I actually made a video about them about a month ago, as I feel not a lot of people know about them, I also came across them by mistake, now, I prefer using them :)
you should toss a bit to that guy in your basement. I bet he would fancy some :D
@@Nemysferu don't want to wake him :D Has been sleeping for a while, but, he would definetly appreciate that, might consider sharing one, I'm just worried he will start acting up again :D
maybe on the 24th as a christmas present, if flex gives up another bit :D
@Nemysferu if the 24th is a bit, just might need to do it :D Still hope flex will give something a "bit" more interesting... :D
looking forward to it ;)
comming from another post-soviet era country, I can confirm, these garages are everywhere here
Thanks for conforming! :) Have you had one?
yeah, several, but never owned one, it was either a rental or someone from my or my wifes family had one and allowed us to use it few times, until we had our own place and built ourselves a new one.
@@Nemysferu building a new one at your own place is a dream! :) congratulations! :) This is my first one ever, I've never before rented/bought one before, they do have some issues, but, at least I now have my own place to work, and, film in :)
your workshop looks astonishing, glad you could create your own place :)
@Nemysferu Thanks! :) That is a feeling like no other to have a place of your own, where you can express your ideas, make something :) One other bonus of being in a garage like this is that no-one complains about the noise, at least so far :) as when I run my CNC I can hear it a block away :D
I loke the playful aspect of it compare to a SW solution, might try it if we were to move to a new place. I'm sure my wife & kids would have fun organizing the space like this, I would probably be stuck with printing all the possible furniture 😄
@@Nemysferu I can pretty much guarantee your kids and wife would love this, it's peetty hard to get these prints back from my kids :D But, yeah, when you start it is pretty easy to get stuck printing more and more, but, than again as long as you somehow sort them so they don't get lost you'll be able to reuse them for other plans :)
With writing etc you can often get better results by flipping print 180deg on its face so the bed gives a better surface. This is a good way to do coasters.
Thanks for the tip! :) I've never tried printimg coasters before, how do they handle exposures to moisture, and, heat? This was more of a test print that I threw together just to see it in action :) This was almost a month ago, soon there will be a video of my thoughts on this printer after one month of use, how it's holding up, if interested, it should be out at the beggining of January :)
My personal favourite thing to cover in chocolate is broccoli call me crazy but it’s sweet salty and delicious
Honestly, this is the first time I've ever heard of such a combination :D Might need to try it out :)
1913 and making $150 per week is the SAME as someone making close to 100k a week now..... I don't believe for a SECOND that he was making $150 a week..... some people in that time didnt make $150 in TEN YEARS!!!!!!!!!!
Look it up :) According to an inflation calculator $150 in 1913 is equivalent to arround $4'800 of buying power in 2024, the average salary was arround $600/year. Take in consideration that this was the beginning of his film career, in those days films were an anomaly, he was known, had a career prior to that, he started performing overall at the age of 5 :)
didnt know it was their anniversary today :0
Yes I whoud
ks tools looks imo better. nice fact about the tower, been there in 2018, never knew it was closed for so long.
I'm thinking about the same, yet, the Laser measurer alone probably is close to the value of the entire set we got from KS tools so far, I will need to check that though. Anyways, KS Tools has given a way better experience so far, there are some actual surprises, from Flex it's mostly either a bit, or, nothing (which is also a surprise in a way) :) That's really nice! :) Yes, it was actually closed for quite a while, from 1990 as it started to exceed the allowed "safe" lean of 5 degrees. Did you like it there?
you can make a value for money compare at the end of advent unboxing :) Yes, went there with my future wife while on a week long roadtrip in that area that we planned as sort of a "lets go somewhere next week where it is not raining and is not further than 10 hours drive" and it started in Pisa, 10 hours away from our hometown, thanks to a bad weather at that time in central Europe :D
Thats s good idea! Will need to think about how to best compare them :) How do you like this series so far? I'm currently also working on a couple other videos, some should be up soon, takes a bit more time as I'm pretty occupied with these videos currently. That sounds awesome! I was there for only a brief moment arround 2016 with, also, my future, current wife :) But we had a scheduled trip, as we are from the upper, colder part of Europe :)
might be a wing nut driver? like to fasten a hook (the eye of the hook) or wing nuts into wooden frames
Yeah, I also now think it might be it, will need to test how it drives in hooks as it could actually be pretty useful, usually I drive them in by putting in one hook/loop in the drill, attaching the other one with it, this would be way easier, but, somehow I've never came across one... Have you had one of these?
also never used one, not a standard bit in a set as far as I can tell. always found some adhoc solution just like you did to fasten these.
how precise are the measurments with it ? might be cool to compare both in different conditions.
The precision of the Flex ADM 30 should be ± 3 mm, when it comes to the Bosch one I showed( DLE 150 PROFESSIONAL), it is a bit of higher-end one, for the same range (up to 30m) it should have the precision of ±2 mm, but, it has been used for quite a while, could be interesting to compare the precision, usually I don't need long distances in such precision, will need to figure out something precise where the measurements should be the same, as the walls/ceiling of my workshop are not that even, the measurement will change a lot. But, yeah, if you would like that, I could plan a video comparing the 2 more in depth. :)
that small form-factor of Flex is what baffles me in terms of precision and reliability in different light conditions, but truth is I'm used to generic ones for a few bucks which are okay for generic use case, so should this one also.
it's starting to feel like bits are new socks as a present 😅
@@Nemysferu I'm starting to feel the same 😅 I do like bits, I do tend to lose them, I never have enough of them, but, getting them every morning does make feel a certain way 😅
and he was a honorary nazi!!!
isn't it too thick to mark a measurement, unlike the carpenter pencil ? either way interesting idea to use it for other than board things
You are correct, it is quite thick, don't use it for measurements (maybe some that don't need to be so precise) :) What I meant in the video is that I use it to sketch vizualizations on wood, for instance if I want to better understand how something will look in the end, or, so I can show someone else, so it is clearly visible, it works really well for that :)
yeah get it, or to write down some measured numbers for future reference, thanks man :)
That's right :) The best thing is that it can write on pretty much anything, and, as I keep them handy next to the whiteboard, I tend to use them quite a lot. :) Hope you liked the video! I am working on my editing skills, hope it reflects :)
yea keep it on :) looking forward to next video
Thanks! :) Looking forward to future comments :)
Why ? Because its ugly and not fonctionnal ???
@MAGIeYUU I guess you are asking about the "cybertruck" comparison :) Well... when it comes to looks, I guess some like it, some don't, I personally really like the sharp, industrial look of the printer, I like it as it gives me a more professional feeling when making something, that being said, I probably would not want that as my day to day car, but, that is a matter of taste, everyone has their own, and, it would be a pretty sad world if everyone liked the same things, there would be no variety. When it comes to functionality, if I could afford I would love to test the cybertruck, don't know about that, but, the printer is working pretty damn well for me up to now, have done a couple more prints since the video, can't really complain. :)
If you call anything the Cybertruck of anything, you're basically saying that it's shiny garbage
@@nuorigin well, in this case it was meant more because of the looks. They have a very similar outer look to them, of you put them side by side, probably could mistake it for a standard mini fridge, or, something :) I personally have never tested the cybertruck, would love to at some point, but, in my honest opinion I wouldn't be too surprised if the criticisms of it would be somewhat overblown as it was so popular to make fun of it for so long, and, it was so unique, everyone talked about it, but, hard to say as I've never seen one in real life. In any case, thanks for the input! :) The printer ir holding up well, have done a couple more prints since the video, no issues so far, but, if anything changes there will be follow up videos about it, so, I'll include any issues that come up, if interested, follow along. :)
Hey man, saw this video when I was considering this kind of tool and even found this exact model you are showing here on sale for 13€, so it now sits in my drawer ready for small indoor tasks, thanks ;)
That is awesome to hear! :) That's a steal, hopefully it will last you a long time! :)
Looks nice!
@@AP-RSI Thanks! :) It took quite a long time, and, effort, did everything by myself :)
I have many Hazet tools and this looks quite good, 113€ at idealo.
Thats a nice set and the bits are longer than the wera set ones.
Yeah, I really like the set :) For me this was the best one I found, it was quite pricy, but, considering the quality, and, how often I use it, I do not mind :)
¿ Algun Link de Repuesto de estropajos con velcro que sean compatibles ?
Hi, Thank you for the comment! :) I just added the links for the replacement brush attachments in the description of the video :)
There is only one speed😢
@@Yaqeen2013 Yes, only one speed, I also would like to have some adjustability to it, but, it is made so that even the most tech-unsavvy people can use it, as there are only 2 possible settings, either On, or, Off, so, anyone can operate it without messing up. I personally have experience helping people that sometimes even if there are more than one button on a tool get uncomfortable, stressed, so, this is a good option for the majority, not so advanced users. :)
@@BackyardBeardMan how long do the brushes last? are they durable, easy to clean? would it be ok to use the brush with a detergent and a bit of water?
Thank you for the honest video. How satisfied are you with this lathe? I was thinking about getting this one too, but will opt for a Proxxon DB250 as I don't have much space and only have small woodworking jobs that don't require such a large machine. Unfortunately, the Proxxon is a bit more expensive.
Thank you for the comment! :) I am pretty satisfied with it, although it needs to be secured pretty well, but, overall, pretty satisfied for how much I use it. :) I picked this one up as it was just the size I needed cut/sand some table legs, not an inch bigger, as I have a really tight space, will check out the Proxxon DB250 also :)
Thank you for the honest video. I'm about to get the same machine. But you might want to look at/read the instructions that come with it. The buttons are always at different heights (on most machines of this type) so that you can always reach the off switch better in an emergency. This is standard, so you can feel the off switch better (without seeing it...), as it is always the higher button.
Thank you for the comment :) You are correct, I should read the instructions more :) This was intended to be a video from the perspective of a first time user (as I am), so, I did not prepare anything in advance, everyone that watched saw the machine just as I did, for the first time, but, now I am planning to do more in depth videos with a bit more information's. I am still starting out, so, learning as I go :) I actually just got a new, slightly bigger workshop, now I'm working on fixing it up, soon there will be a reveal video, and, after that I'm preparing to make more, better videos, so, if interested I would be happy if you subscribed so we can continue discussing other tools :) Thanks for sharing the info! Now I'll now :) Before I bought these I always used only hand tools, as I have never had a workshop before, so this was new for me, but, now I'll know, Thank you! :)
@@BackyardBeardMan I understand you well, I'm also the type of person who wants to try things out first and then read the instructions. I look forward to seeing more videos, also because I get to know the machine a bit, as I have never worked with a lathe before.
I agree this is a cool set, but it's got one big problem for Americans, metric snobbery. The Italian Beta set is mostly the same. If you want a high end set like this, Facom and Wera are the ticket if you use SAE.
@@JohnAndries-lt2jd I aggree, for Americans that might be a challange, I'm from Europe, so, I'm all in the metric snobbery :) I'm all for using whatever works best for you :) I will also check out the other sets you suggested, I'm not familiar with them, when I was looking, this one was hands down the best one that fit everything I wanted from such a set :)
I would suggest you do some heavy editing, your content is good, understandable and most importantly relatable but way too long, Good Luck
Thank you so much for the feedback! I am still in the stage of figuring everything out, this is my first experience with content creation, so, I truly appreciate anyone taking the time to give honest feedback :) I am actually currently working on a new video, taking more time on editing, to make it better, just takes more time to get it out. Also, got a new microphone, so the sound is better, felt like that should be improved. In any case, I would love if you stuck around, gave me some feedback when the new video comes out, is the watching experience getting better. All the best to you, and, Thank you! :)
@@BackyardBeardMan Your doing far better than i could hope to do, but like when at school ask yourself what value does it add to the Viewer. The power cord footage was a classic example. I would suggest setting yourself a limit, say 10 mins, and keep cutting without losing the story your trying to tell, but whatever you do keep going!
THat lathe looks remarkably like the Lidl\Parkside lathe
I'm actually not familiar with the Parkside lathe, will need to check it out, but, it might be, as they have other very similar tools, and, they are in more or less the same price range.
@@BackyardBeardMan I have not used Schepach tools but i have heard it said many times that a lot of Lidl tools are rebadged Scheppach, good for the price but also built down to a price.
@@MaffuH The Schepach tools I currently have I'm still satisfied with they do the trick for me, will see how long they last, as so far they seem a pretty good deal if the power/functions are enough (if you do not need anything more specific/more powerful)
@@MaffuH Aldi also often sells Scheppach machines under the name “Ferrex” and at Lidl it will probably be under the name “Parkside”. In the end, however, they are just re-labled Scheppach machines.
That’s a cool setup cornwell has something similar but it doesn’t have sockets,I like this one better
Will have to check out the Cornwell set, how it looks, have not seen it yet, I believe. But, this is my favorite one, probably will not change it for years :) I specifically like the combination of the sockets and bits, as there pretty much is everything I could need in one set. (At least when it comes to fastening/screwing something) The only down side is that it's pricey, but, considering it is my most used tool set, and, I take it everywhere I think it's definetly worth is especually if I'm stranded somewhere with a broken bike or something I would prefer having higher quality, reliable tools than ones that can break down themselves. Thank you for the comment! I love hearing what others are thinking! :)
As a Midwestern US guy, have never seen Hazet tools. The box is very clever.
That is really interesting, as I'm from Europe, and, Hazet is a German brand, it is pretty popular over hear, overall considered a high end brand, pretty expensive, this is the only set I have from them up to now What is your go to tool kit?
@@BackyardBeardMan Snap On is the very best quality here. Snap On tools are sold out of a truck that runs a route and calls on shops. Snap On is expensive, so I only buy Snap On for tools I use a lot. For less used stuff, I try to buy decent quality and based on price.
Hazet is basically the European Snap-on ☝️great quality and expensive
@@boosted2.4_sky that is a great comparison! I personally have used very little of Snap-on tools, as they are not very popular here (as Hazet in the US), but, from what I've heard, the quality is there, so, a great comparison! :)
Klok!
