    Both of my offenders broke and fell off on the freeway as I was driving. I did not even know it luckily, they did not hit any cars behind me or bounce up into the windshield of oncoming traffic. It appears a lot of Harbor freight are not DOT approved roadworthy And it looks like a possible lawsuit or even fatality causing accident .

    Thanks for the great vid. I am using galvanized pip to make a wheel chair for dog so it is strong. I bought a harbor freight die/tap set. Low and behold, 1/2 in galvanized pipe does not use a 1/2 die. A 7/8 was too big, a 3/4 is too small. Just to verify, the pipe set in your video, the 1/2 in is to cut 1/2 in pipe correct? Thanks again!

    • @timsonthemove
      @timsonthemove 3 місяці тому

      Hi, thank you. I find it easier to push the caliper piston back in if I loosen the bleed bolt. The bleed bolt is easier to loosen while it's still bolted to the vehicle. A little grease behind the clips and pads is a good idea, thanks for watching and commenting.

    Outstanding! Exactly what I was hoping for! I'm retired and living in a travel trailer -- I think of myself as a kid living in a tree house with wheels. To maintain an RV, you really need to have a good-old-boy DIYer attitude and figure things out. This is especially true since the lightening and cheapening manufacturers adopted in 2012, then furthered during the pandemic have made older trailers worth maintaining and upgrading. Thanks!

    thanks for the vid, I have to do this same project. I finally realized that all the sealants in the world are not going to do shit when applied without removing the molding first, and that butyl tape, not sealant, is the most appropriate material to use for this type of application. For the life of me I cant figure out why the rv manufacturers designed my rv using a corner molding that doesnt even have the channels to hold the stripping to cover the screws. And yes, that caused water leakage problems for me.

    Hi, greatly appreciate your video and earnest attempts to explain clearly! I just bought a used Mahindra 2638 with loader and backhoe like yours. Now at 252 hours of which I have done the last 20+ hours since early June! Only problem was a leaking hydraulic hose which I had to remove and replace with the replacement the dealer supplied me! I had to replace a good amount of hydraulic fluid so I got very familiar with reading the fluid level eye glass. In your video, you demonstrate trying to see the fluid level from the right side, presumably because the location of the eye glass is to the right of the middle of the tractor and that makes some sense. But, as your video shows, you can barely see half of the eye glass even at the best of angle! I found that it is quite a bit easier to see from the left side of the tractor, but you do have to get down low, horizontal with the actual level of the eye glass! So much easier to see and read accurately because you have to make out the fluid level with respect to the red dot behind the glass window and it can be difficult due to lighting and any shadows especially with the clearness of the fluid! Not a huge suggestion but honestly makes it easier to check which I do frequently! Thanks!

      @@timsonthemove You're welcome. I picked up some good tips from your video. What are those jacks called? That style was suggested for me to switch to.

      @@CDLuminous These are the jack stands I have. Thanks so much. My camper a very well maintained 1972 Frontier. It's perfect inside as it was kept in a garage during the winter. However there's some wood rot along the outer edge. I bought a marine product called git-rot which you inject by drilling half ince holes into the rotten wood. It kills the rot and hardens the wood. I'm hoping that will do the trick but I'll need to reattach the bottom seam and I'm not sure if I can drill into it. I also need to replace section of a support corner beam. I have a woodworker friend who will give me direction and step in when I need help. If we don't achieve the necessary stability and strngth in the corner then I'm going to need to consider those jacks but then I'll need to reinforce the bottom plywood. 🤔 Researching the git-rot now...

    Thanks for the video. I'm going to try your method the next time I have to do any pipe threading. I just did a small job this past weekend and the threads worked, but they were a little on the rough side.

      It works for me. I get the results I'm after, even if the method is unconventional. Thanks for watching and the comment. Good luck.

    I like how your taking what you have and making it better. Single wide mobile home( it looks like), affordable tractor, old camper you rebuilt, property that isn't designed by a stupid HOA. Yeah man, i can dig what you're doing. Approximately what part of the country are you in?

      Thank you. Probably the best comment and most observant comment I've ever received. You get it. Work with what you have. Thanks for watching and the comment. Southern Maine. For now.

      @timsonthemove . I've got a double wide in Arizona. It's nice but very generic. I'm slowly getting the property kind of fixed up per me. By next summer I will be building a nice metal building. Anyway, keep at it, as I will also.

      We could sure use the room of a double wide. We were in Arizona in 1983 the year we were married. So I could go to motorcycle school in Phoenix. That's a whole different story. Thanks for the comment.
