I love old songs like this from about the years the ship sank. They're so neat, this and Just As The Ship Went Down, and the Lusitania songs. They're very interesting and seem to be pretty rare.

I have this one! It’s in almost perfect condition and I cherish it. Original 1921, 103 years old. Very fragile lol.

What a pleasure to finally hear this roll again! When I was about 10 and just getting interested in opera (thanks to the weekly Saturday afternoon broadcasts), I'd already heard "Il trovatore" and fallen in love with it. However, recordings were not easy to come by in those days, and my ability to read music was still very much in its early stages. But some friends of mine happened to have an old player piano with an assortment of rolls, and when I saw this one among them, I was thrilled and insisted that they play it. Of course, I knew only one of its arias then, and I wasn't too happy that the selections were played out of sequence and I didn't hear my aria on the roll until near the end, after a whole bunch of others that I still didn't know. But this piano roll was a big help, and today, after nearly 70 years, "Il trovatore" is still one of my favorite operas (with or without some help from a certain Marx Brothers movie!). Thanks for providing this!

I just bought a roll of this for my simplex piano player. I unrolled some of it and watched the music on yours line up with mine! Of course with the limited scale of my instrument it was not exactly the same but I could easily tell what notes were which. Thanks!

What a beautiful, dainty waltz, and I love the piano role! This song was used in the Hitchcock movie "Shadow of a Doubt", one of my favorites, and I never knew it was a real song until now!
