Yamaha Grizzly 700: AIS Block Off
Переглядів 10 тис.4 роки тому
A method to block off the AIS system on a 2017 Yamaha Grizzly 700. Also there is some before and after footage of me riding to try and demonstrate the impact of doing this. For me blocking the AIS off did not have as big an effect as i thought it would. While the noise is a bit less, the exhaust still pops and crackles quite a lot on deceleration.

From the outskirts of Solwezi to a small village where Chief Kapajimpanga's Palace is located. Also take the chance to explore some tracks that head off into the bush to borrow pits where locals have been exploiting sand for building.

Through the bush to Kabitaka. I came across an interesting small scale solar plant that is connected to a grain mill where the local people are able to mill their maize seed to make "melie meal" a coarse corn flour which is the staple starch across most of Africa.

My first attempt at using an "action" camera to record my ATV riding adventures in Northwestern Zambia. For a first attempt it is not a bad video but there were some lessons learned to make more in the future with a much higher production quality.

I have the same-overall a pretty good bike-my biggest beef is the FORWARD override button for full power in 4x4 diff lock going forward-crazy...I like the Elkas-still thinking about the Stage 3's. The EHS racing stuff looks good-about to order up their air box kit for better dust resistance, and likely the fuel controller. I just put on the Yamaha 1/4" plastic full length 1 piece skid and a Warn Provantage snow plow mount for my plow ( I live in NW Ontario Canada). Running 26.5" Pit Bull Rockers-a tough 8 ply tire.

OK...time for some clarifications! 1) It is the crank case breather hose, NOT the cylinder head breather hose as stated in the video. The hose connects to the top of the cylinder head but it is actually allowing vapor to escape from the crank case as the engine heats up. 2) As it is a breather, the majority of gas movement when the engine is running is outward from the engine into the chamber in the air box. As the engine cools some air will be drawn back into the engine. 3) If you choose to close off the chambers at the front of the air box, do not seal the lid on with glue or silicone in the same way that it is sealed in the Yamaha OEM air box! It must breath or you will do serious damage to your engine.
