Think Your Data Isn’t Valuable? Think Again!
Okay, there are two types of identity, arithmetic and geometric, aka, literal and metaphorical, aka, perceptible and intelligible. Why don't you clarify yourself and state clearly which standard of comparison you are using? Because it is not true, that if it looks like a duck, it is a duck.
You are completely wrong. It's a goose identifying as a duck.🦆
Hello Everyone! Ethan here -I want to start by saying a big THANK YOU for everyone that has replied. This means this is a big topic and I love to get the feedback (I just didn't realize I was opening up this can of worms:) but that is perfectly fine as I said above I want to hear the feedback). I am not going to try and go through each comment but I will post this one that I think covers most of the comments. This video is for businesses needing to prepare for Windows 10’s end of support in October 2025. For most organizations switching to Linux instead of Windows is rather difficult to maintain and manage (yes, before anyone jumps in says there are companies that do it I completely understand but that is not most of our clients). At ComTech, we are consistently testing Linux, thinking of ways to remove Windows/ get around these upgrades that Microsoft pushes on us but as of now we have not found a good scalable method. Can it be done - absolutely. Is it worth the effort - at this point ComTech believes the answer is no. If someone disagrees for the client base we typically serve (5-200 users with no internal IT department) please comment as I would love to hear the feedback. Again, big thanks for everyone continues to reply and I am reading each one of them.
Microsoft sucks - Migrate all to Linux.
This is a loser move. Many Windows 10 users will not simply not upgrade unless MS removes the Windows 11 upgrade block for some configurations AND makes Windows 11 a FREE upgrade - MS doesn't make any money on Windows anyway. There's no technical reason to block upgrade - if a PC can run Windows 10 then it will likely run Windows 11 just fine. This move will cause many PCs out there running Windows 10 to be sitting ducks for hackers to ransom or to make into bots for their own uses. Just from a security perspective this is a major dumbass move.
WIndows 10 LTSC for IOT Devices. You're welcome.
A company with a 100 desktops, like this man used in his example, can not bend the windows license so much that it resembles a pretzel. Enterprise IoT is for singular use machines, an office machine running Word, Excel, Powerpoint, a browser, Outlook, and god knows what more hardly qualifies. To much legal and compliance risk.
@@williamyf Shucks.
This is for IDIOTS, SHEEP AND GOATS to spend more but if your PC still works and you can still connect to the INTERNET why worry just remove and backup all secretive data to a backup drive but keep your system basic with the minum apps that LOVE to collect data and spread it around and don't recycle it as it still useful and these are panic merchants and it's all BS that you can't use win 11,as there are reworked win 11 that you use on another drive and boot from if you have a desktop computer system So ask a real TECH than these BS TECHS. but laptops are but always for yuppies only with low TECH intelligence and if you can't build a system' well you better get TECH savvy otherwise you will be bled dry and plus there are alternative OS software out there as backup systems are always good to have around.
The stupidest recommendation ever. Solution is to stop using Windows.
Most people aren't capable of doing that. Those who can should change to Linux, but most people won't make the effort or aren't capable of the different skills.
@@martinbynion1589 If you can make your way around in Windows, you can likely do the same in Linux Mint. A person that just surfs the web, checks emails etc. should have very little difficulty with Mint. Would likely need a wee bit of help setting up/downloading linux to start though.
¿You do realize that the example this man gave was an organization with a 100 computers? Switching that many people to a new OS in just a year will be a logistical challenge, to say the least, not imposible, but a chalenge, nonetheless...
Many people have software investments which they simply aren't going to throw away - let alone learn a totally different OS. Windows 11 will run just fine on your Windows 10 PC.
Just switch to Linux

@@riodio9878 Exactly this. I have a lot of valuable music software/hardware that just flat out has no fully functional solutions for Linux :(
Or for many you could just switch to Linux Mint (free) if you have a computer that is "not upgradable" to Windows 11. Pretty good starter Linux.
That's my plan, plus a Apple mini 2 as a backup computer. Not using Windows 11 or new computer to do so.
Excellent idea - for someone prepared to make the culture jump to a totally different (and outstanding) operating system. Unfortunately, that is not true of most PC users.
I remember doing some research on the different linux distributions, and mint sounded like the best out of all of them.

"Older pc can't run Windows 11". That's a LIE! Microsoft is just making it hard to do so!
It is still possible to run Win 11 on a lot of PC's that need a work around, but a common-or-garden PC user does so at their own risk!
That is a fact. If it can run Windows 10 - it can run Windows 11 just fine.
If you run Valorant on Win10, it will not ask for either TPM2.0 or secure boot. If you run it in on non-supported Win11, it will plain refuse to run without them. This is not done by Microsoft, is done by the developers themselves. And I understand them, is easier to check for the OS and tailor the minimum requirements of the OS, than to check every permutation of ISA (SSE4.2 or SSE2) support, TPM (none, 1.2 or 2.0) or if you can use WDDM2.0 or have to restrict yourself to 1.0... This particular example is pretty notable because many people run this game, but also happens to many other applications, games and non-games. You run Windows11 to run programs, being able to run Windows 11 on unsupported HW means nothing if the SW you want/need does not run. Machines that have MVBEC, but not the accelerating instructions for it run atrociously slow on unsupported machines with tricks. There are other examples as well were is not just Microsoft "making it hard to do so".
@williamyf switching too Linux next yr Oct 2025

This was quite informative. I manage the IT workspace for my department and been given added responsibilities to manage lifecycle. Thanks👏🏿👏🏿
So glad you found this informative! If there is any other way we can help let us know!
Is there any way to use this phone with an adapter if you can’t use the Ethernet cable connection? Thanks
Unfortunately, I don't think so. There is a different model - the Yealink T34w that does include wireless and can support Bluetooth with an adapter. Do you have this device in a place where you don't have a cable but need wireless?
I have a Yealink T54W and a Yealink W73 (coupled with a W70B). I would like to make them ring at the same time since they are in separate rooms. Can this dongle solve my problem ? And second question, if i have this dongle, will the W70B base still be useful (or will it be replaced by the new role of the T54 and its dongle) ? Thanks for your answer :)
Hey there, yes the dongle will solve your issue and replace the W70B. By using the dongle it will become the new base. You should be able to test this by unplugging the W70B base and resetting the handset, plugging in the dongle and then pairing the handset to the 54W.
@@comtechnetworksolutions3251 thanks a lot for your answer, i will test this scenario in a few days :)

Love the quarterback analogy-it really drives home how crucial it is to have a playbook ready when things go wrong.

Good morning, what error is it giving you? Or can you describe a bit more on what is happening? Thanks -we will do anything we can to help.
@@comtechnetworksolutions3251 I am also having trouble pairing my cordless phone to the desk phone. There is no error message. It just fails to register. And the paging button does not light up.
Hi thank you for getting back to me I also just bought the w56h. When I do the register neither register to my sip-t54w. They don’t find each other. This is a work phone so it was originally set up elsewhere idk if that matters or not. Just trying to give as much information as possible because I keep spending money to try and get this to work and I’m having no progress.
@@comtechnetworksolutions3251I just opened it out of the box. So maybe I’m suppose to do something before that to the cordless.
@@comtechnetworksolutions3251 I also found out the service is through intermedia, maybe I need to order the cordless direct through them
It's crucial to be prepared for worst-case scenarios and ensure everyone knows how to handle them.
100% agreed! :)
"Replace your machine with a windows 11 machine" sorry that is't going to happen since i paid good money for my device and me having to throw that device away just so i can receive updates and support is insane. Ill rather switch to Linux and deal with every issue that comes with it instead of using windows
I’m really waiting for the next windows version because Windows 11 is just so poorly made compared to windows 10.
Understand completely, please see my comment above on this. No major issue waiting as long as possible but October 2025 deadline will be upon on us quick for them to stop the security updates.
@@comtechnetworksolutions3251 I meant ''Windows 11 is just so poorly made compared to windows 10.'' just saying real quick, made a typo
I would if windows 11 wasn't so garbage. Aside from the ads on my desktop, it eats up more resources for features I didn't ask for or will use. If there's a way to de-activate them all and make it as good as or better than windows 10, I would upgrade tho.
Completely understand. Unfortunately Microsoft is somewhat forcing our hand (as they do once every 10 years) by stopping Windows 10 security updates. I certainly understand where you are coming from though. Right now there isn't a super easy way to remove the ad pieces but I am betting we have so many people mentioning it to Microsoft they will get the picture (or at least we can hope:))
I'm here on July 19 2024, if you know what I mean lol.
We know exactly what you mean:) It was a day to remembered (unfortunately not in a good way)
you can literary do anything, all you need is 5 seconds with a cmd
Can this specific model can be use as a local intercom?
Hey there, yes depending on your back end phone system you should be able to. If you are using the ComTech backend phone system you would dial *50 from another phone and it would immediately hit the speaker of the T21P. If you are not using the ComTech backend you would need to ask your phone provider what code to press to dial for handsfree talking or intercom.
No offense, but it seems like you should have used AI to script this video for the same reasons :D
you make a good point :)
one click will not put down, some software need to be installed on PC with administrative privilege's.
For the most part you are correct but whether it was one click or more was not the point. End users having unrestrained ability to install or run software (or scripts) is dangerous. Hopefully we will find out more about this as the forensics get completed. For now, everyone should be extremely careful and put controls in place where there are none.
@@comtechnetworksolutions3251 The same seems to be happens with Federal Reserve Bank and probably more other companies who do not report about such issues, unfortunately it hard to prevent that when people store their passwords in files or stick to the monitor. Everybody wants to have full access to be able to install their staff and do not wait till IT department will do
Yep let alone they should be blocking with open dns or some type of network ACL so it can’t reach out to get key the for the encryption.
@comtechnetworksolutions3251 back in the days and don't 😂 we worked with Novell servers and 5250 Emulators on Win 🖥 but could better constrain end users privileges
Hi. How the 2nd way to connect affect the speed of the internet connecion?
Hi there, good morning. The second way should not affect your speed on your computer as the phone itself has a gigabit switch inside. The internet speed to your computer should seamlessly pass through the phone to your computer without affecting speeds.
love the content keep it up
Thanks a bunch! We will definitely keep it up, have a great day!
Sweet! Been trying for the longest to get it to work. I was missing that last step. On the T57W, instead of selecting Slave, I had to select "Satellite Mode" and then Handset 2, then it started ringing. Thanks again for this video!
You are very welcome and I am glad to hear it helped. Have a great day!
@@comtechnetworksolutions3251 Can't figure out why I can't select Satellite mode on our T58W Pro with DD10K to a W59R coredless. It is registered, and I see Satellite in the menu, but can't select it. The W59R is set as Handset 2.

Hi we have a T54W and want to add cordless handsets. Which model dongle do we need? and are W56H handsets compatible? Thanks!!
Good evening:) You are going to want a DD10K dongle and that will plug in the back of the 54W. You absolutely can use the W56H or W53H. Please let us know if you run into trouble!
Can I link more than one handset
Good morning, yes I believe you can link more than one handset. I would have to look back at my office in my demo environment to test but this should be able to be done. I will look and confirm over the next few days and try to explain how I did it:)
Good morning, sorry it took me some time to test this. I did confirm that you can connect multiple handsets to the desktop phone. You go through the same process I did in the video but the only difference is you may have to login to the webpage of the phone itself (Account tab, then Number Assignment tab) to enable the secondary handset. We tested and all is working. Hope this helps and let us know if you need anything else, have a great one!
Hi, can I use it as bluetooth speaker with microphone function with my android device? Specifically OPTOMA 3862RK? :D thanks for answer :)
Good afternoon, it most likely will work depending on you connect it. The bluetooth on that Optoma device is version 5 of bluetooth and the Yealink is version 4 of Bluetooth. Let us know if you run into snags and we will do what we can do to help but from what it looks like on the specs I am seeing it should work.
I bought a Yealink Ip telephone SIP-T21P E2.I have the power cord plugged in by the wall that also connects into the DC5V at the back of the phone.then I plugged in my Ethernet cable, one side at the back of the phone in the internet socket and the other side of the cable into my laptop..my phone still says no network and no service.am I doing something wrong?
Good morning, did you plug the ethernet cable from the wall into the internet port on the phone? Then you should have a cable running from the computer port on the phone into the laptop. Can you confirm it is plugged in that way?
What if my desktop has only one port, that I use to supply desktop with internet. How can I connect phone to desktop if there is only 1 phone port on desktop? Thx
Good afternoon, if you only have 1 port coming from the wall then you want to use the method found at 2:40 in the video. The cable from the wall will go into the Internet port on the phone. Then a cable will go from the pc port on the phone into the desktop computer.
How do I change the message when people call our office? There is a generic message, and it is awful. We want to add a new one.
Hey Kelli, good morning. This would be a question for who provides your back end phone system. Who do you pay each month for phone service? I would recommend calling them. If it is please do call us and our techs will help you handle this quickly. Have a great Christmas and holiday season!
how do you disable the "Missed Call" notification on the T33G? We have four phones and even though we dont miss the call the other phones show a missed call. Super annoying!
Hey Steve, good morning. Most likely this is showing up because the phones are part of a ring group which is causing them to show a missed call. There are two ways to do this. One your provider should be able to write into the code of the phone from their side to disable the missed calls notification. The other option is to login to the phone via a web browser (through the IP interface of the phone) but you will need an admin password for this. If you have that please go to account, basic, turn off missed call log. Hope this helps!
*Promosm*
Good morning, when I click on the link below I see the Ref Guide for the T54, could you provide me with the guide for the T33P...thanks,
Good morning, the guide should be the same for both the T54 and the T33. Very similar features on each and the buttons should map to the 33. Please let us know if there is something in particular that you have questions about that the guide doesn't cover. Have a great day!
Does this phone have a night service message for when the closed? If so, how do you access it?
Hello, yes you can setup a night message but that isn't on the phone itself but instead on the back end phone system that you are using. I would recommend touching base with who you pay for phone service each month to ask how to do this on their system.
Amazing thank you@@comtechnetworksolutions3251
I need to know how to setup the phone after getting it plugged in. I have no idea how to configure the phone, get its IP address etc…
Good morning, depending on how your network is configured the phone will most likely receive an ip address automatically via DHCP. Once the phone receives a local ip address (depending on how your network is configured) then the phone will be able to look for either a local PBX (phone system) or a cloud PBX. Whoever you pay for your monthly phone service should be able to take the mac address of your Yealink phone and set it up on their end so when the phone gets that local ip it will automatically configure. Please let us know if you run into issues and I will try my best to point you in the correct direction:)
Good afternoon I need reading about my life
Help sheet
Hey Brian, the help sheet link is in the description. Please let us know if you cannot find it there:)
We wanted to keep our landline, although I was getting annoying calls all day long. After reading some of the reviews, I was skeptical about this particular phone system ua-cam.com/users/postUgkx1m4aStCYW1-eZhNPOgFG2H2JJSmJ2RwK , but decided to give it a try. Yes, the manual is long. Out of the box, I followed the quick setup instructions and turned on the call screening. I didn't try to read the manual, but just used it as needed. For example, the call volume was loud and I looked up how to turn it down. Problem solved. I looked up how to add phone numbers to the directory so they wouldn't go through call screening (don't forget your security system monitoring company!). That's been pretty much it for 6 weeks now. The robocalls have disappeared completely. I periodically scroll through the caller ID and see plenty of numbers, but the phone isn't ringing off the hook anymore. I didn't even change the prerecorded answering machine message. The phone has been a huge improvement to my old phone system, which would only store 200 blocked numbers, which you had to block manually. Great phone system if you want those annoying calls to go away!
This is a great phone ua-cam.com/users/postUgkx1m4aStCYW1-eZhNPOgFG2H2JJSmJ2RwK for seniors. It does not pick up the background noise, allowing one to hear only the conversation spoken into the handset even with the tv on. This was a big problem for my 92 year old mother and caused us great frustration when talking with her on her previous phones. My mother does have some hearing loss in both ears but the side button, audio assist, boosts the sound allowing her to hear clearly. Buttons are large and the screen is easy for her to read. It has a caller ID announcement which is a feature she uses to screen out unwanted calls. This phone worked out so well we bought a set for my 94 year old mother in-law and she loved it. Highly recommended for all ages. I like the way the backlight lights up the actual numbers on the buttons for easy viewing in the dark as my current phones light up around the buttons only.
This phone is better than expected.
Great video. Yealink phones have an EXT port. Can this be used to extend to a traditional phone (or home POTS wiring to extend to more than one traditional phone) and calls will work both ways from these traditional phones? OR... if I connect an ATA to the ethernet port on the Yealink, will analog phones be on the same line (if the Yealink and ATA are configured with the same services) like an old extension home extension phone? Basically, I'm looking to extend the IP phone to other rooms in the house via the old POTS wiring. Thanks so much!
Thanks for the comment on the video, I am glad you enjoyed it. The extension port is used for an expansion module (side car that has more buttons). I don't believe it can be used in the manner you are referring to. What you could do (depending on how much control you have on the back end phone system that the Yealink is using) is provision an ATA with the correct sip credentials and then plug a POTS line in on the other side. I don't have any videos on this on this channel but if you go down that route I would recommend something like a Polycom OBi300. Those seem to work quite well to convert digital to analog. Hope this helps!
@@comtechnetworksolutions3251 Yes it does help. Thanks. I think you're saying to connect the ATA into the IP Phone's PC ethernet port? Or connect an ATA and IP phone EACH to separate router ports? And I should be able to leave the IP phone off the hook while on the call and pickup in another room just by picking up that handset and visa versa? (Just like a regular home phone) Thanks again. EDIT: I already use the OBI202 with 2 voip services. My main objective was to get rid of cordless phones and run analog phones from the ATA thru my POTS wiring without even using a IP phone. But I can't find analog corded phones that provide custom ringtones per contact which is what I need. Hence looking into a Voip Phone that has custom ringtones per contact.
@@rgraz4929 Gotcha. I was saying plug the obi directly into another router port (just any ethernet as long as it is getting internet) and then provision the extension you were going to configure for the Yealink phone into the obi. That doesn't resolve your issue of different ring tones though. Another option is to get a Yealink W70 handset and base because that is cordless and supports those contacts. Issue there is that device connects to the base station using DECT and won't work with your existing pots lines. Another option would be to use something like a Grandstream WP820 which is also cordless and connects to your wifi if you have good wifi. Hope that helps but I am not sure of a way to go through the Yealink physical handset and for it to pass those custom ring tones through.
@@comtechnetworksolutions3251Thanks! I understand now. Thanks for offering other solutions. My plan is to only use corded phones but I've grown accustomed to knowing who's calling without looking which seems to be only available in cordless traditional phones.
Are there only 4 total line keys available or can you have multiple pages of line keys to flip through like the T54W? The T54W have 10 physical line keys, but when more than 10 are assigned, the 10th physical key becomes a "next page" button and you can flip through multiple pages.
I found the answer. The T33G does have the ability to program multiple pages of line keys. There are 12 total slots. On my system, the first slot is always taken by the extension of the phone itself, leaving 11 programmable slots. The T54W has 27 total, leaving 26 programmable.
@@ThWind81 Correct, depending on the back end setup the first line will be the extension and then the rest are available. You can get around that and get that button back depending on what back end phone system you are using.
How to add a cordless phone to any desk phone
Is it possible to temporarily disable the routing tree without erasing the settings? Trying to have google call with a confirmation code but it's not working because the automation doesn't make a selection to be directed. Thanks!
It is definitely possible depending on what your back end phone system is. Most back end phone providers can reroute your calls temporarily away from the auto attendant you are mentioning to a call phone so you can receive that code. My suggestion would be to contact who provides the phone service monthly to have them make this temporary change.
@@comtechnetworksolutions3251 Awesome, thank you so much for taking the time to help!
