Please update what it was? I see that rear sporcket have side to side play, but it is connected into wheel rim by dumper hub and one bearing. It is normall that can play a little bit especiially at poor chain condition where there are partsof chain which are longer than other and proper regulation of tension is not possible, always coexist parts to loose and to tight, depending on relation at both sporcekts wear difference. Especially at your case, chain is making loud noise and completally unlubicated. Anyway shame on yamaha is, that sprockets bracket (metal part between sprocket and sprocket nuts) is not possible to assembly central so (also bracket bending is not perfect) it makes very bad look at rotating wheel makes ilusion that wheel is offcentered.

It is normal, mine has it too. Its caused by the clutch pull pin, when released its rattling in the bearing of the centerplate because its not a tight fit

They rubber on the clutch are bad that why you have the noice! You can replace them or just let it as it is. completly fine.

I had the same issue, AOE spells will damage it, like fireball or lightning strike

'16 fj-09 owner. That sound is the neutral gear and chain spinning. If you ever take off your clutch cover you can see it.

Just happened to my busa this week. Exactly the same noise. Weird thing is it didnt have that noise before I hit 3,400 km on the odo. Just this week when it's now 3,4++ I get this noise on my clutch. Brought it to my most trusted mechanic and he said it is NORMAL! oh well.. Anyone else has a hayabusa and experiencing the same noise?

I have this on the tracer GT. Sounds dry... like a dry bearing. I took it in to the shop they said it is normal. Is this true?

Since there is literally so many people on here that have the same problem including me thinking it's a problem I honestly think it's just a normal FZ09 mechanical noise if more than 30 people have the exact same thing thing and I'm sure more than 30 people have the exact same noise I think it's normal but there's a reason why I clicked on this video hhahaha

I had really loud noise and after inspection I found out not only broken friction plates but clutch basket as well. Absolute disgrace from Yamaha for not recalling this.

I own a 16' FJ-09 and it sounds exactly the same. It's freaking annoying but I've been going through some forums and it seems to be "normal" in the sense that it will not break anything

I think it' is not normal. FZ - 09 have two big problems. chain tensioner and clutch basket. also if you have vibrations on the footpegs and change gear lever when change gear up, you should change basket. I had troubles with basket and chain tensioner on my fz 09 too
