Day 116 learning piano progress, Tchaikovsky's Album for the Young Op. 39 No. 6 The Sick Doll
Tonight I play Tchaikovsky's The Sick Doll Op. 39 No. 6 completely. This is my first piece that I played completely using the sustain pedal. Though the music score has no pedal indication, most tutorials I saw on the internet used the pedal. I know the pedaling is not clean enough, but this is the best I can get so far. Regarding the dynamics, I also try to apply it, but to be honest, I'm not satisfied with the result. As you can see here, I have a problem making a distinction between forte, mezzoforte, and piano. I don't know if it's because of the digital piano or my lack of controls. I admit my control of sensitivity is still inconsistent in some parts. Well, a progress is still a progress, right?
I noticed my heavy breathing was on the recording too. It's an allergic season here in Bali, and my nose is a bit runny, so I'm sorry if it makes you feel uncomfortable. Nevertheless, please enjoy it!
Practice is based on a book titled "Tchaikovsky, Piano Collection, Vol. 2116" (Schirmer's Library of Musical Classics) by G. Schirmer, played on a Yamaha Digital Piano P145B, recorded on iPhone 11.
