Bobby looks and moves exactly like Chris Kattan during his prime years. Rest peacefully Bobby. 🙏
Bobby Banas is a freaking legend man.
I watch this when I am feeling blue.
The best!🏆 Bobby will always be remembered now AS the nitty gritty 🌟 Energy right through his fingertips (and toes, of course!🥰) Rest in peace, Mr Nitty Gritty Jet ♥️
Bobby Banas was not only a cosmically gifted dancer/choreographer, but a sought after rosarian, too. Rest in paradise, Bobby 🌹✨️❤️
Happy trails to you, Bobby. Thanks for all the wonderful energy.
For an earlier example of Bobby Banas's magnificent energetic dancing, see this clip from the 1956 film "Don't Knock the Rock." He was uncredited, but see if you can pick him out from among the many other great dancers. I'll give you a hint. In this colorized version of the original B&W film, he's wearing a dark jacket, light gray slacks, and a silver tie: ua-cam.com/video/Wxy3bxjBsmE/v-deo.html
You literally can't take your eyes off him! He was incredible.
@NittyGritty: We love you #BobbyBanas
RIP Bobby Banas Always phenomenal..
How were people just not completely embarassed to watch tv 🤦♀️ it’s SO corny!!
This was one weird dude.
Ooh I just found out about him..I hope he knew Jesus
Rest in paradise Bobby.
Magical and transporting! What a wonderful dancer and person!
I have always envied skillful male dancers, and like to watch them. I am a Clumsy Clunk who can't even dance two steps without tripping over my own two feet. We can't all be gifted or skilled, alas.
Simply a LEGEND!
Taking a few bars rest now...
oh my! 😢I just learned Bobby Banas died about 2 weeks ago! (7/29/2024) So sad! I first saw him in the Nitty Gritty video 4 or 5 yrs ago and was blown away. I'm no dancer but my daughter is. (born in 2000). She recognized him instantly! And knew all about him. RIP to a truly talented individual.
What a gifted dancer! He felt the music and his personality stood out in every dance role he was in.
While people dance... Bobby rocks!! RIP

Rest in peace, Mr. Banas ❤️
Look at them go, don't get that now do we? Wish I had a time machine to go back to these times. I grew up in the 60s and remember all these great dances.
Star.
I first became aware of one particular player, with the expressive face, as one of the dancers in the "Rip it up" sequence in the1956 movie "Don't knock the Rock". I wanted to know more about all those dancers. Strange... how certain individuals attract your eye and resonate with you. I had no idea of Bobby Banas' log of works was until I did some research and arrived at various sites such as this one. What a talented guy- and such a lucky sod to have received a kiss from Marilyn Monroe ! Bobby- if you read this, you inspired me in my own dancing style so many tears ago, despite my never really knowing anything about you. Live long, man.
I just adore Mr Banas,,,,,WHAT an amazing talent
