Darryl, on a cassette of your songs during early years, you sang a memorable rendition of HOME ON THE RANGE. All of the songs were good, but HOME ON THE RANGE was total perfection. SAVIOUR SAVE MY SOUL TODAY was on the same cassette. It had a lonely, or almost desolate quality, but was well sung, like everything else on the cassette.

Hey Amundson’s…..I wish my phone and iPad had a feature that stopped everything or anything I was or wasn’t watching and immediately have your Live videos cut in so I get to watch y’all live. I like any videos you make, but I love the live chat ability to comment and request songs. It makes me sad to see 100+ views when I know SO many good people in our local Bluegrass community. @1:08:14 Nate starts playing the intro to Fade To Black before the request was read.. strange. Anyway…..please don’t dabble too far into that dark music. That song starts out with a very pretty sounding intro that then follows to the typical dark metal, high overdrive effect pedals….all while James Hetfeild sings the song’s lyrics of pro-suicidal darkness. I grew up in the 1980’s living down the road from the famous Sunset Park in West Grove, PA. Where all the bluegrass greats would meet every weekend. Sundays were bluegrass Gospel meets on stage. Well, back then, bluegrass was poked at and made fun of as I was growing up. I loved it, but my schoolmates eventually made me ashamed of it. One of my old buddies introduced me to his album collection of dark themed Metal music. After that, it was about 10 of that wicked music being the soundtrack of an angry, sin-filled teenage life. Nate…..my dear brother in Christ…. please don’t give that type of music much of your time. Before I knew it, I had the same equipment all those metal bands used….the distortion pedals, large amps, and the buddies that go with that evil stuff. I wasted my whole teenage years playing power chords and muffled notes…I’m 47 now and I’m still paying for all the bad music habits that all the easy chording I was doing on a fender Stratocaster fret board. It took me years to get back to playing clearly and singing well enough to lead worship service in church. Playing plugged in all those years with the effects pedals kept me from what I should’ve been practicing on and playing clearly on a dreadnaught type guitar and other stringed acoustics. So yeah…try to stay away from that mess. That same song, Fade to Black by Metallica took me down a bad path. Thank God, I knew the Way, the Truth, and The Life (Jesus). I was astray for all those years. I wish I never gave in to the pressures of the flesh and this wicked world. But my Redeemer Lives and is a Forgiving, Merciful God. In case you hadn’t paid much attention to the dark lyrics and the meaning of that song…..here’s the lyrics that fantasize suicide… "Fade To Black" Life, it seems, will fade away Drifting further every day Getting lost within myself Nothing matters, no one else I have lost the will to live Simply nothing more to give There is nothing more for me Need the end to set me free Things not what they used to be Missing one inside of me Deathly lost, this can't be real Cannot stand this hell I feel Emptiness is filling me To the point of agony Growing darkness taking dawn I was me, but now he's gone No one but me can save myself, but it's too late Now I can't think, think why I should even try Yesterday seems as though it never existed Death greets me warm, now I will just say goodbye Goodbye So many young teens have been lured into doing some dark, wicked, hopeless deeds by taking James Hetfield’s suggestions. He knows who his listeners and followers are. They were the youth back then in the 1980’s. He and his Metallica band were Misleading SO many children. Matthew 18:6 “Whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to sin, it would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were drowned in the depth of the sea”. Those are red letters….Meaning from the mouth of Jesus our Lord and Savior. I don’t mean to be long winded and lecturing. I’m not here to shame or embarrass. You did a great job figuring out how to play it perfectly on the Mando. 👍🏻👍🏻😊 I’m sure your God fearing, Loving mom and dad have given you the greatest gift any parents could ever give -and that’s the upbringing of being a born-again, “New Creature” by the saving blood of Jesus- That’s the best a parent can ever give to their children. I mainly just want to share not such a warning, but more of a testimonial story. God is So Good! Thank you for your Mission work in Songs of Praise! After Church every Sunday afternoon, we host Bluegrass Sunday at the Northeast VFW Post 6027. We are the remnants of the Sunset Park generation. Danny Paisley is a regular, This is the Home Town of the late Ola Belle Reed. We have a wonderful festival coming up on June 25-29th called the REMINGTON RIDE BG FESTIVAL at Centre Hall, PA. Mary Travers was one of the greatest female singers of all time. Anna does a remarkable job of respectfully reproducing her harmony voice in Peter, Paul, and Mary. Mary would be touched deeply by Anna’s rendition.

excellent vocals, nice harmony :) I played guitar my whole life and never sang. Now I'm more interested in learning how to sing than I am in learning guitar. I was never into Bob Marley but I recently started playing Three Little Birds to strengthen my vocals. Thank you both for doing this and have a good day there and stay warm :)
