From the first time I heard this song about 5 or 6 years ago, it has become one of my favorites because of the beautiful message of truth, promise, hope, and love for each of us, not delivered first to the rich, famous, and powerful, but instead to those lowly, laboring shepherds abiding in the fields- a message that first resonated to them of that star that led those of all statures in life to the manger of Bethlehem, a star that shines forth today with an everlasting assurance of life eternal because of both the birth of our Savior King who was born that night, who lived that perfect life to guide and heal us, and who as God's Son died and rose again so that we, by His Grace, are born again. He is indeed that Shepherd in the field and that star of the night who guides us and is born in us this day. May you, the Amundson Family, continue to help spread this message as you all sing so beautifully from the heart. Your love indeed shines through to more than you can ever imagine.
