@@JuVenturing Yeah I used to work at reptile shops so i met literal hundreds of ball python breeders over the years. They are great snakes, don't get me wrong! I have a 9 year old female ball python at home. I also keep a lot of other species too though. It's just a tad disappointing as a reptile enthusiast when someone says they have a snake, and then you get excited, but then 9 times out of 10 its a ball python just like everyone else. It's not that it's a ball python that bothers me, it's the total lack of variety in which snakes people choose to keep as pets these days. It was not always like that. I suppose it does make it that much more exciting when someome says they have something else though! There are just plenty of other amazing species out there people could be breeding. For example the ball pythons closest relative, the Angolan python, is critically endangered and could actually benefit from captive breeding! I guess I just feel like all the ball python breeding stole some of the thunder the other species COULD have had. Hopefully that makes sense.

I definitely see where you are coming from. I hope people do start breeding Angolan pythons so they can stay around. I'm not very big on snakes but the Python Temple was definitely an awesome experience.
