Do not use penetrating oil or engine oil as boot conditioner! It greatly softens and stretches the leather, also makes it more vulnerable to punctures and cuts. Take it from me, im a diesel mechanic, I spill oil on my boots all the time, the average pair lasts me only 7 months.

No sir, Will ruin your boots. Dry the fuck out of the leather. If your poor, clean with water and a toothbrush. After finished, hydrate leather with Vaseline over night. Works. Make sure to buff out the Vaseline once the leather has soaked it up.
