@@slavik_banana3200 lol this still makes me happy people are using this still
You said timmies........where in canada are you?
lol London, Ontario
@@gnarcycle lol no way. I'm from Ingersoll, lived in London for many years. I'm in Fredericton NB.
Hey,like the content! I have a xs400sj cafed out. Picked it up done. Learning everything I can towards.
is the sj the later dual overhead cam model ?
@@gnarcycle lol thats why I'm talking. I'm learning.....don't know what you just said lol Wondering about parts and the best place to deal. I'd call you in second too shoot the shit with regards. Thanks for the reply
There is not much info on the sj so my biggest wonder is the similarities between models for fit. Do you know much about these models?
Anyways I see you haven't been on for awhile so I won't bother you with it. Thought I would inquire. Lol hope to visit the area soon again. Thanks again for the reply
Great video. here because I tried to "test" the installation of the shaft before the case cover went on... Big Ooops.
NOOOO
Yeah. Luckily the case side seems to be able to hold most of the force. Going to buy a tig welder or break down and buy a bare case (current one was just rebuilt so im really trying to avoid pulling it apart)
Top Speed?
@1:22 - I can testify to that.... 1 engine totally wrecked.
I’ve never heard of it being called Horton’s, around here people just call it Timmies lol
in your video, did you re-install the spring? When the cover is off, you rotate the kick by hand, and you bottom out at about 9.. but when the cover is on you can kick all the way through My bike is the same -- when I rotate the kick by hand (cover off, or on) I get to about 9 oclock as well... but have not gotten the bike off my table to be able to try and kick it by foot...
are you using stock sprockets?
Yes, seemed to do just fine all around
I have a question: I was in a lil fork bending accident nothing too crazy now my kick starter moves the bike even with the clutch fully engaged any advice. Or tips before I dive in. Just replaced my tubes and I'm ready to go just dont wanna have my kick starter not disengaging or some catastrophe
umm your clutch adjust is on the left side sprocket cover. you could try adjusting from there. you could of also caused damaged to the clutch case in the accident. and always kick start the bike in neutral. I thought from factory the bike had to be in neutral to use the kick starter. I could be wrong.
Damn dude, thank you so much. Super helpful.
I am about to strip all of the wire out of my 76 xs360 and remove any non-essential electronics making the bike kick-start only. If there was one piece of advice that you would offer, what would it be?
be careful lol or you'll burn your garage down. I don't really have any advice other than start from scratch. The stock harness is way to complex. and its nice to have it to go back to stock form for resale purposes. www.xs400.com/threads/new-wiring-for-future-bobber.4597/
Gayest video I have seen in a while.
Did you fix the shaking rev counter needle? I have the same issue.
no, thats a spring issue on the inside, I later removed all the instruments and just guessed lol
Not bad bro.you still riding
Thanks!I was last summer I had a vfr750 r36 but have sold it and sold the xs400. Bought a house last year so bikes have taken a back seat for a bit!
The first 18 seconds of your video make me feel better as I literally did exactly that on my xs360
lol to bad you didnt find this first eh
@@gnarcycle where is the fun in that? Lol
@@mikekristin7201 very true, I typically do a lot of research before starting a job but something is alway different and have some new problem to solve.
@@gnarcycleMoto with oil on my hands still, I salute you. sold my daily rider to give me the motivation to finish my 360. kick starter success thanks to you. next, up full rewire eliminating all nonessentials. kick start only. you can see why this was step 1 lol.
@@mikekristin7201 Glad I could help
Dude! This video helped me out so much I too did a “Great success” because of you. Thanks 👍👍👍

Wiring is so much fun lol, are you soldering your connections?
Not at all the connections, just where lines T off, I want to be able to remove the harness easily if I need too, some people told me just to solder everything nut i never listen lol
