If you listen carefully the bus driver sounds like Tony Curtis.

@@reelyoldmovies Definitely send me a message & we can try organise something for sure👍🏼
My mother thought these were too violent, but would let us watch DBZ haha
@@squishy0rg4ns 😂😂😂 the irony
Man this guy is so boring too boring
Bogart appeared on the Jack Benny Program to plug Beat the Devil. They did a wonderful film noir parody - Jack's the cop, Bogart's the bad guy, and they slip the commercial in with Bogie singing the Lucky Strike theme while remaining seated throughout. Glorious. Most of the episode was done with Jack doing a gag noirish narration. He continues this with the final curtain call, with Jack's narration commenting about Beat the Devil while Bogie did the classic hourglass with his hands when Jennifer Jones' name is mentioned. Then Jack's narration continued, "Then I told Bogie about the last picture *_I_* made," and Jack "played" an air trumpet (for The Horn Blows at Midnight), and Bogie walked off the stage holding his nose! Bogart did have a good sense of humor. I don't remember much about the film, but it did have Peter Lorre, and it was directed by John Huston, so it couldn't be all bad.
@@kali3665 I need to check that out! That sounds hilarious
@@reelyoldmovies I think it's on UA-cam. Look for Jack Benny and Bogart. That should suffice. Enjoy!
I love Buster Keaton, but I find him more fascinating than funny.
@@Longshot_NYC I th8nk this film would fall in that category
Thanks for the review. Did they actually interview Cora Sue Collins for her film? What else did she say?
@@c.d.6004 you know what, she was so frail and very hard of hearing being that she's 97, she only had time for one question before she left. She was asked if she had seen the movie prior to the screening and she said no. We all clapped and cheered for her as she was wheeled out.
@@reelyoldmovies Thanks
Stupid youtube wouldn't let me post without adding a song. I'll make sure the next toon has a song free version next week so that I can add one on UA-cam.
Yak yak bye
It gets better with each viewing. You’ll even come to realise the cinematography and camera work is always artfully explaining and pushing the plot forward but kept ‘invisible’ to not detract from the story and characters, the point of the movie.
Ive never seen. The Golem. I understand its a folkore horror tale. He eats children.
Long intro is a turn off
You are not the only one to have not seen the big-deal "titanic" of 1997. I did not see it either, but I have seen this one from 1953, at least twice on turner clasic movies.
@@mmurqus6560 yay! Glad to hear I'm not the only one. Thanks for watching
Hello everyone, the photo in the music section in not from The Haunted Castle (1921) but is actually from the finances of the grand Duke (1924). I made the slides ahead of time before I saw the movie and forgot to change it before I went live last week. My apologies for that, I will make sure to pay better attention to that. You can't tell, but I am panicking when I got to that section and saw the incorrect photo 😅😅😅
I was chefing up steaks and taters during the whole duration of that, excellent entertainment, hope to catch the next one! And seriously, that was so cool learning about that lego toy lmao
@@N0tAFed that's amazing, can't go wrong with good ol' steak and taters. Thanks for watching!

I saw this(now, way back)in;2014,so…..it would be the fall of that year.Which would’ve been in October.I felt that this film, was:”okay!’.And,it’s based on a book,📕 too!The book was written by an;Alastair McClean.I read the book, and I finished it from the Library, that winter.🥶 My mom saw the film, and said;I can’t believe how they did that?!Which meant;how on earth 🌍 did they get through that storm?☔️ Too,I had seen this movie 🎥 after I had gone to a wedding.So….this would’ve been a week after that.😊
This film is a masterpiece. I don’t get peoples problems with it. Conrad’s novels themselves are normally panned by the general public. Heart of Darkness gets terrible user reviews. And yet Apocalypse Now is considered some sort of masterpiece haha. That film is crap compared to the book. Conrads novels are easily some of the best books ever written. Invaluable. If people have a problem with this film then they have a problem with Conrad in general. Honestly, the general audience is so mediocre. If it was down to them, we would have nothing of value. Everything would be throwaway. It’s quite depressing.
Conrad didn’t write Hollywood endings
Secret of NIMH is a classic
@@Bowers_Inside_Story it is! Such an amazing film
I like that you included stills from the movie in this one!
Thanks for noticing!
(suggestion for any future video similar to this one: no vulgar (or profane) language)

Absolutely insane! I have np idea how that happened. Reminded me of the two bullets thay struck each other
Thank you all for watching! Make sure to subscribe if you haven't
Yep. Saw it at this year's Arthur Lyons Noir fest as well. Terrific! The cinematography (especially the ending) was sensational. Loved the whole thing. There's a blu ray to get!
Love the film, haven't seen Sorcerer yet though. Great video.
Thanks for watching!
@@reelyoldmovies anytime!
I think I might like this channel a lot but until you get better at pronouncing names and such I'll have to just check back every so often. I also enjoyed this film alot.
Whoops. Lol she's British not Spanish like I thought
Great review! This is such a cool old movie, but you're right that a lot of it is really dated. Still, the technical achievement is astounding.
Absolutely agree
The "sideplots" were to highlight the many year's passed looking. While other's lives go on. And how much they're sacrificing
This guy is good at breaking things down and explaining them. His appreciation of movies comes across pretty well.
Thank you! Thanks for watching
This interpretation is horrible!
Is it possible that Joseph Conrads novels don't translate well to movies?
I personally haven't read them, but I wouldn't be surprised, I don't think every book can be adapted to a screenplay
Lord Jîm certainly was no more than So-So. The Secret Agent wasn't too bad.
Since you mentioned it here, have you reviewed The Last Laugh? I skimmed through your videos and couldn't find it, but I may have missed it.
I have not yet reviewed the last laugh, but I would love to
Try “Odd Man Out”.. It’s excellent and on par with “The Third Man”. “The Fallen Idol” and “The Man Between” are ok. “The Way Ahead” is a propaganda world war 2 movie that’s pretty good.
Ok cool, I'll add those to my Letterboxd list. Thanks for watching!
What’s wrong with Outcast? It’s on par if not better than the films you mention. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with outcast. If you didn’t like it then that’s not the films fault.
I like the film, there is nothing wrong with it. Everyone has different opinions and their own likes and dislikes
Great breakdown! I haven't seen either version yet, but it's been on the list for a long time.
Thanks for watching!
*Barbara Stanwyck was a very attractive woman in her prime. I saw her in "Ball of Fire" a long time ago, and in "Double indemnity," which is my favorite film noir. My only criticism is that her hairstyle was unbecoming to her as the "femme fatale" in both of these movies--and it didn't help any that they made her a blonde in the latter film.*
I think it moght have been a wig in Double Indemnity. But younare right, her hairstyle was a bit weird in both films. Thanks for watching!
Totally agree, especially re: your comments on the film's premise. For me, it was even worse that her husband and children were generally quite amenable and nice: it made her desire to throw them all away even more hypocritical!
Exactly. It was hard for me to like either one of them because of this. It's more sad than anything
Nice overview of Oswald
Thanks evan!
No movie !??!
