Running 2 Businesses from a TINY HOME!
Thank you. I have a mold assessment company and I was really glad to hear you discuss the moisture problems and glad to hear you are tracking your humidity and managing it. Well thank you..
Speaking from personal experience here. If you want the nomadic life, buy a camper van or RV. Trying to save money/minimalist? Buy a 5th wheel or travel trailer. Tiny homes are a massive ripoff. Finally, don't bother with the yurt home idea either. They're just another ripoff. Swallow your pride and just live in a mobile home while you save. Don't reinvent the wheel just because of stereotypes about affordable dwellings.
I see all these videos on youtube titled blizzard...extreme conditions and I watch their videos and its like 2 celsius haha. This is legit cold. We get these temperatures as well in northern alberta.
Tiny home is only good for weekend, in everyday real life you need space to live.
Ever built anything ever? Insurance will be an issue. Are you in Canada? Insurance, government, bank and ministry Karen's are going to be an issue.
using propane is hardly "off grid" :D
Just build a brooder for the chicks. I made one that can handle up to 20 chicks for 4 weeks. Put a 100 watt heat bulb in it. You raise and lower the bulb to keep the chicks warm. What are they arriving? I typically get mine the first week of March.
Very informative.. ty
Thank you for this video!!
If you want a reference for raising chickens... he is the specialists on YT..."White House on the hill" (don't put link because the post will be erased) They are doing it "naturally" and is a little family business... and they are very helpful so you could contact them! They raise chickens, duck, emu, peacocks, quails... with the help of their children!
I find your chicken "residence" a little too "ventilated... huge gap at the top! Send you some heat... grrrrr... I find you courageous! 🥶😨☃
Try living on the street. Insure what. Lame video.
I have lived in many different size homes. If not an 1:17 R V then a small home should be at least ,450 square feet for one person or 650 sq. ft. for two bedrooms. Add 300 sq ft per person/bedroom. And a second bathroom if four people. Just fot sanity's sake.
I’m in Southern Ontario and it occasionally gets down to -35 here too, though -20 is typically our coldest temperature. I think it’s building code here, if not, it is definitely recommended that no water lines run in exterior walls in a regular house. I lived in a house 40+ years ago with a frozen pipe that burst. Once in a lifetime is enough of that! So I was very surprised that your tiny home builder initially constructed your home with the water lines in the exterior walls! Glad you found a solution.
My last R V was 320 square feet parked with the slider out. I spent time in State parks. And on private land as well. Loved the freedom of going where I wanted when I want. Adult kids in two different states. And you dump the black tank. Clean it. Fill up your gas then drive your home to the store when you need things.! When you move your car goes on the car hauler and you cruise down the road. Lovely. Two dogs. Two cats. If your neighbors annoy you just move.😅
Wow seems there are more than a few wealthy people that are shaming people just trying to raise the middle class back up in anyway. However without the Nuclear Family Middle class Americans we will continue to decline in my opinion and having the ability to have even a small house is a HUGE win for the middle class to be able to divise plans to roll things back a bit less workers and more money for those that do work outside the home to support the wives at home so we are more valuable unless the wealthy have a plan to get around that so we cannot escape and have to continue to be slaves essentially middle and poor class alike leaving only the wealthy families ,children etc with free time and rarely any other class middle and of course the below avg annual income line.
This is one of the most informative and best videos about the reality of tiny home living
Tiny home only became another marketing scheme to over price the concept
Great info. Can u talk about how you went about water hook up and how much, did u have a well drilled? Sewage, septic or holding tank? Power etc. etc. etc?
You're acting like -35 is catastrophically cold. To most Canadians that's just a normal winter day.
I’ve learned so much from this video thank you!!!
Thank you for this information.
Heated mattress pad is the way to go
4:34 Don't really get that... So if you buy land and park your mobile tiny home there, it's illegal, but if someone else buys that piece of land, rent it, and you then park on it, it *IS* legal? That doesn't seem to make sense at all. Why is there such a law? Whom invented this nonsense?
Miss you guys…are you no longer doing tiny home videos?
I don't own shit. I am homeless, lived in my car, now sleeping on a broken couch in a hovel, and I look at this house, and I'm just like, wow. It would be a dream to have something like that to myself, or share with someone special.
How much do they cost
Also install a sauna. I small one is affordable. You can add that to your deck.
Canada is short 5 million homes, Vote for Pierre.
Your chickens would be dead in that uninsulated thing at minus 35. hahahahahah
You should have a wood stove. propane can freeze up. I dont look minus 35 there,,, I live in North Bay Canada, I know what minus 35 looks like that looks like minus 20 maybe - minus 35 would have the air all hazy from freezing moisture in the air. like fog but not as thick,,, plus you would not be walking around with your face unprotected, your face skin would be frozen bad real fast.
Sooooo.... The guy who owns a tiny home an says he loves it says not to buy one ????? 😂😂😂😂
Thanks for sharing. This video is very informing
i used to run propane in my home in north central British Columbia Canada, the easy trick is to shine a heat lamp on the tank... fun fact, propane boils at -40 Celsius, hence the heat lamp......it keeps it warm enough for the propane to flow into your heater. just and FYI from an experienced propane user.
It's not for everyone, it's not a lie it's just not made for the weak
Where in Canada are you?
I’m not a fan of tiny homes myself, it’s just not for me, but was looking for a the lowdown on the problems of tiny homes not just the benefits, out of sheer curiosity more than anything else. The stairs point is a good one, I’m ambulance crew and honestly it looks like it would be incredibly difficult extricating a patient from some of these tiny homes, especially with narrow and steep steps.
What about an ADU on your own property?
Thank you for sharing!🇨🇦♥️
I'd still rather live on a 30ft yacht. 🇦🇺 ⚓
How is this different than living in apartment regarding cabin fever?
Cost to build? And if you hire someone? I wouldnt have a upstairs but if i did i would have a set of hisden stair steps so that if someone broke in we would ve safe.
Why do they want everyone to look and buy TINY HOMES = COMMUNISM???
Very useful video, thanks for sharing the info
Tiny home easier to keep warm
-35? WOW chill! Time to put on sweats over the shorts and t-shirt and change from basic runners to high top runners
In Georgia the restrictions are terrible.you have to go by all the buildings codes.
This is a video is filled with great information. Thanks so much.
Tiny home on wheels = RV Tiny home off wheels = Mobile Home
Love this perspective. Great advice.... I was thinking about it mostly because it's just me and a cat... a large house is mostly out of the question.... and tiny home would be on the list... but this is great to know. Thanks for the video.
