SPEAKING OF MYSTERIES: Confessions of a Crime Writer
A series of interviews with eight national mystery authors conducted by Bruce Southworth in 2001 at the Once Upon A Crime Bookstore in Minneapolis; produced and edited by Dave Carlson and St. Paul Neighborhood Network. The series originally was shown in prime time on Metro Cable Network, the Twin Cities Regional Cable Channel 6, and also on SPNN and other local cable television outlets. For the first time, these programs are now available for online viewing.

There is this British movie called Night of the Demon. The bad guy hardly seems a bad at all. Sort of a good uncle. Horror movie yes but it has how the real world is. In truth, we need a score card to keep track off the bad guys. Honestly, we shouldn't look to long in the mirror.

Who better to write murder mysteries than a cold blooded murderer who beat a woman to death with a brick. Vile… just vile that she’s walking free.
The producers of this television series are aware of the author's terrible and tragic actions which occurred when she was fifteen years old, having just arrived in New Zealand after a bout of tuberculosis forced her to live in other countries. She was subsequently convicted and served five years of detention, and she has acknowledged and apologized for what happened. . .
She served her sentence as a teenager.

@@MCSTF25661 Out of pure decency, I couldn't read her books. Wasn't as if she shot someone, wasn't as if she was a 10 yo. Hands on smashing a woman to death. And it was here idea. Something wrong with her fans that they can desensitize themselves that way. They have no right now to criticize murder if they absolve her.
