Awesome getting the metalheads some love! I'm pretty easy, I love anything that is guitar based/heavy. Though I'm into melodic rock, I love Maiden. I love thrash. Wow, Helloween. Haven't heard them in years.

So, I recently got back on Netflix and I would say 40% of what I watch is subtitled or dubbed. I'm with Andy in the sense I don't like to read movies but I'm desperate for new, [and good], things to watch. I'm also with Andy on the little things that bother him, i.e. the open box containing the table. Because of this review I'm going to have to watch it. I'll try and remember to come back here and comment.

I love "Year of the Cat." One of the best songs ever written. Just an epic tune top to bottom.

Interesting choices. I'm not sure I'd call Like A Virgin iconic. I'd argue Borderline was more iconic since it was the song that sprung her. Anarchy in the UK I'm having a hard time with. I think if you randomly asked 10 people if they knew it, at least 5 wouldn't know it. Maybe more. I love the song especially Megadeth's version.

I was thinking "ABBA" too for Mike's second song. I had both of Madonna's first two albums, (thanks Columbia House). "Like A Virgin" is essentially a Chic song with a different female singer. "Cherry Pie" is a great mindless sex song. What's more rock and roll than that?

If you can't sit through to the end of a movie, then you shouldn't be allowed to do a movie review podcast. Thumbs down and I'll never subscribe to your show.

I had never heard the Pina Colota song until I saw the movie Grown-ups (or Grown-ups 2, I love both movies!).

You guys know I hate previews/trailers. I saw the preview for "Trap" while waiting for "Longlegs" to begin. 32 minutes of trailers! The preview gave away the "twist." I haven't seen "Trap" but even if it's revealed early on it still would have been nice to be surprised by it. Thanks to that, and your review, I no longer need to see it. Andy, you probably should've given this 4 poos.

I disagree that Teen Spirit changed music. 80s metal had become over saturated, formulamatic, and the bands started to cannibalize themselves with dysfunction and break ups. That left a vacuum in the rock world and Teen Spirit filled the void. It was more perfect timing, not replacement.

Teen Spirit may be the most overrated song since the Beatles..... I prefer Weird Al's version

I hate Stairway. But it is iconic. In fact, it being iconic is why I hate it. I can remember it being played in heavy rotation in the 80s on rock radio!! I can't listen to it to this day because I'm so sick of it.

I recommend doing an episode on songs you wish would have been huge. Each of you pick one and plead your case.

I was 11 when this movie came out. I did see it at the theater. It was right in my wheelhouse. I watched it a half dozen times over the course of the 80s. Also, the Queen song was iconic, with the movie dialogue embedded into it. I listened to that song so much I could do all the dialogue in it! For the record, I hate Star Trek. I was a Star Wars fan, though once I discovered girls I wasn't anymore. Also, Buck Rogers and Battlestar Galactica was also right in my wheelhouse. I can remember being in grade school and playing Galactica on the playground.

I have always loved this movie. In the 80s, a bunch of friends of mine and I played a role-playing game called Top Secret. I felt that the game the kid played in the movie was TS and that is why he was so into spies. I'm also a big Dabney Coleman (RIP). I also liked how this movie was essentially a kid's movie, yet it is dark showing actually killings and death. A common theme in the early-mid 80s (think Gremlins).

Flash Gordon is a classic!

I didn't think it was that bad. It has been a few years since I last saw it, but I like dystopian movies so take my assessment with a grain of salt.

According to IMDB the box office was $4 million. And according to AFI it also had a budget of $4 million.

I kind of disagree with the talent is hard to find. I remember one of the great guitarists (maybe Eddie) one time saying that the greatest guitarist that ever lived was probably some guy that plays in his room that no one will ever know. However, today with UA-cam and social media, there are a ton of "unknown" talents that are being seen and heard by thousands if not millions.

Bohemian Rhapsody is definitely and undoubtedly iconic!

I would take anything from Bon Jovi OR Queensryche over Your Eyes! :D

Also, 12 Monkeys was awful. Not only was the movie bad, but there was a "spider on face" scene which is an immediate "never watch again" for me!

Good call on the "was I entertained?" That is the bottom line of any movie.
